Great picture and the contrast exceeds other outdoor TVs that my friends have. Point the two little antennas on the back of the TV up for better reception. Although the TV is thought of as a partial shade model my TV is mounted in full shade and is great day or night.

So I have been eyeing an outdoor TV for some time now. So being able to review this was a plus for me. Let's talk about setup. First and foremost this TV is heavy. About 90 lbs with packaging. Outside of package is about 80. It was delivered on a pallet. So note to self make sure that if you pick delivery you ask about packing arrangements etc. also because you have to get rid of the pallet and all. If you are picking up in person then there is having a big enough car to transport and all that. To ask a friend to help you through the process if you are doing this without professional help. If you have no one to help you Geek Squad might be a consideration to hire. The unboxing was easy. Running the wires through the back access panel was super easy. Here comes the hard part. Mounting the TV. This took a lot of planning and measuring and talking it through with my wife. We sat down in our patio area to make sure the height was right. One lesson learned with a lot of other TVs is that mounting height is important. If you mount it too high and if you watch for a long period time it can cause neck strain. So after spending about 1 hour I mounted the bracket and we hung the TV. Make sure you keep the box bottom and are able to put the back mounts in the TV first. I would not recommend putting it flat on the TV screen as you might damage the screen or glass. So after mounting the back mounts while the TV is standing up with the box base here is the other important part. You have to TEAM lift it. After that is done, you just run through the setup process and you are in. The TV I got has 2 remotes. 1 that comes with a silicone water proof cover that has tape patches this is used when you need to seal it up to make it water resistant. After you get that all dialed in TV watching can begin. So TV watching was good. TV color and watching angles are all good. In daylight it works just fine. Sounds is decent. Back connections allow for HDMI ARC, aux out, optical out. So lots of options to setup additional audio and video inputs. I am debating on whether I should connect this to my outside amp or not. Remote use was easy to navigate. Netflix and Amazon, and Hulu, and Disney can all be downloaded and used. This is a great addition to our outdoor space .. super happy with this item.

The Furrion Aurora 55" Outdoor TV is a great fit for our deck/porch. We thought about putting a regular television outside but decided it would not handle the moisture, temperature variations and sun light. At first I thought a 55" TV would not be large enough but it is a great size for our deck. * Supplied accessories 1. A cloth cover is included that fits perfectly over the TV with Velcro on the bottom to completely enclose the TV to protect for storage outside. 2. Two remotes are provided. One is a normal TV remote with good short-cut keys provided. A vinyl cover is provided to seal out moisture and extreme temperatures. The other is a WebOS remote with voice control, a pointer and a scroll wheel. This remote is great for playing games on the TV and for browsing with the included browser app. 3. Two Wi-Fi antennas are included which provide extended range. The only concern I had with these is I thought I wouldn't have to use them since I have a good Wi-Fi signal on my deck. But it seems that you have to use the included antennas for the Wi-Fi to work. I assume the reason is that the TV is enclosed the outdoor metal case and it would shield the signal too much. * Mounting 1. We decided to mount the TV on a stand with wheels to allow us to move it around on our deck wherever we want to watch. The VESA mounts on the back have rubber extensions that keep the TV from being mounted too close so air can circulate. Mounting screws were provided with the TV that fit the holes on the back. Mounting was quick and easy. * Build quality 1. The TV case is built of solid metal making it heavier than a normal 55" TV. You can feel the strength of the case that encloses the actually flat panel TV inside. I did get a little condensation behind the front tempered glass panel when I first left it over night before I mounted the TV. It was due to me having it to close to the wall. I should have put the included cloth cover over it but forgot. Once it warmed up again, the condensation was gone with no residual effect. 2. It is basically a TV inside a case with panels on the back to keep the connectors and ports dry and a front cover built-in to protect the screen. 3. There are rubberized buttons on the left side allowing access to volume, channel and settings without using remote, if needed. * Technology 1. This TV is 4K UHD with HDR10 so it provides really nice ultra high definition video. 2. The outside screen cover is anti-glare while the inside screen is high contrast, brighter screen providing an image that can be seen outdoors. The issue I found with this is that you get more glare in the sun if you depending on the angle from which you are viewing. It is a partial-sun TV instead of full-sun. 3. The WebOS interface is robust with many good features but it sometime can be a bit slow depending on the app you are using. 4. The smart TV features are great with just about any app available including the most popular streaming apps like Apple TV, Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, YouTube, etc. These streaming apps work well. There is also over 300 LG live TV channels providing many choices including news, weather and entertainment options. I found these channels to work really well. 5. Firmware updates are quick and easy and can install in the background so I can keep on watching. 6. The LG ThinQ mobile phone app can be used to set up the TV to simplify it or set up can be done on the TV using the remove. A QR code is provide to access the app using your phones camera. I found the ThinQ setup a great option using my phone and it was quick and easy. * Final thoughts This TV is great for watching TV outdoors and seems well protected from all kinds of weather. The picture quality is excellent and we have already enjoyed watching TV outdoors which would not be possible with normal TVs. The Wi-Fi signal has been excellent and the available streaming apps all work great.

We love our outdoor living during the summer time. Floating in the pool and watching our favorite sports and shows is a daily occurrence. We already had a TV mounted inside a Storm Shell to keep it outside year round. The only problem was the horrible glare you would get with the normal indoor TV as the sun moved across the backyard. You would constantly have to adjust the angle of the TV to see it clearly. I decided to try this Furrion Aurora 55" Partial-Sun 2 Outdoor Smart 4K TV to get a clear picture in sunlight. This TV delivers exactly what you’d hope for in an outdoor television: durability, clarity, and reliable performance even in challenging lighting conditions. The TV has a clean, modern look that fits well in your favorite outdoor setup. It’s heavier than an indoor unit due to the rugged build, so wall mounting is definitely a two-person job. Mounting it now (winter time) doesn't give the true sun location of what it will be in summertime, but I already notice a definite improvement. The 750-nit brightness hits a sweet spot for partial-sun environments. It’s bright enough to stay visible during afternoons on the patio without washing out the image, yet not so bright that nighttime viewing becomes uncomfortable. The 4K LED panel is crisp, colors are vibrant, and motion handling is smooth—perfect for sports, movies, or streaming. The impact-resistant screen is a must have feature with my family. Whether it’s the occasional wayward corn hole bag or a wind blown loose umbrella, the display feels solid and built to handle our backyard life. Combined with outdoor-ready weatherproof housing, this TV figures to be in our backyard for many years to come. WiFi performance is not really a problem for our outdoor electronics as the router is only about 20 feet from the patio, but the wifi boosting antennas noticeably do improve signal strength. Streaming apps load quickly, and buffering is minimal. The built-in WEb OS platform is simple and very responsive, just load your favorite apps and streaming services to enhance your viewing experience. The onboard speakers are serviceable but not spectacular—pretty typical for any TVs these days. For the best experience, pairing it with an outdoor soundbar is ideal. We just use a portable speaker and connect via Bluetooth to get a great sound. The TV also comes with 2 remotes. One has a cover to use in case you leave the remote out overnight to keep dew, sprinkler spray or critters from negatively affecting the remote. I can't wait for summer now to get full use of the Furrion - Aurora 55" Partial-Sun 2 Outdoor Smart 4k LED TV.

For an Outdoor TV, it does everything you need

Disclaimer: Currently, due to a considerable amount of weatherproofing for outdoors TVs to withstand humidity, heat and cold, dirt, rain, snow, insects, etc., often, outdoors TVs lag in picture and sound quality compared to indoors TVs and are limited to LCD technology (i.e., no OLED nor Mini-LED technologies are available to outdoors TVs). As such, this review will entirely focus on outdoors entertainment experiences as opposed to technologies. This 55" Furrion Aurora Partial-Sun 4K LED 750 Nits Outdoor Smart TV (FDUP55CSA) provides a solid backyard/patio/lanai viewing experience for areas where no direct sunlight hits the TV screen. Though in my case, I have direct sunlight in my lanai, I have storm shutters that I can lower to provide needed shade. (Note: For direct, bright sunlight, 1000 nits or higher is needed for clear visibility.) The speakers played quite loud, however, just as with indoor TVs, you may want to invest in pairing your outdoor TV with an external sound system to get a more enjoyable sound with richer bass and treble. (Note: Furrion offers two different outdoor sound systems.) I was pleased to find out that the Furrion TV comes with one optical out (TosLink), three HDMI inputs, where one of them supports ARC (Note: When using a soundbar, the optical and/or HDMI ARC outputs are important for synchronous sound, i.e., lip movements and audio in sync), Ethernet port (in my case, that's a must have as I have hurricane-proof windows and doors which almost entirely wont't let WiFi 2.4 and 5 GHz signals through), two USB outputs (which you can use, for example, as a power source for streaming sticks, such as Roku, if needed, or for content playback), and is powered by LG's streaming-ready WebOS (hooray!). It comes with two remote controls, including LG's "Magic Remote's" intuitive navigation. (Note: This TV can be operated without a remote control thanks to the TV's Control Panel whis is available of the left side of the TV. The TV also comes with two "RangeXtend" WiFi antennas including signal boosters which should work well enough for environments with close-by WiFi routers (or repeaters) and double-pane windos and doors. In my case, though the antennas picked up the WiFi signal fine through my triple-pane, hurricane-proof doors, the WiFi speed was too slow for streaming 4K content from Netflix and/or Apple TV. Furrion claims the LCD screen is anti-glare, which I could not entirely confirm (please see pictures). There is no mention of a viewing angle, but it can't be more than 120 degrees. From-the-side viewing is not possible. As far as picture quality goes, if this were an indoor TV, uou would be disappointed. Though it’s a 4K HDR10 TV with quantum-dot color, you won’t get great contrast and color accuracy. I recommend selecting the "Vivid" picture mode to achieve the maximum brightness (the default setting is Standard mode). This way, you'll find the brightness sufficient for outdoor entertainment in shade and/or partial sun environments. The only real drawback for me was that the TV does not come with a traditional tabletop stand probably because of its intended use for permanent outdoor installation. Unfortunately, though, the TV is not shipped with a wall mount. Before you buy one, make sure you will be able to open and/or access the media bay once the TV is mounted. Furrion offers a weather-resistant Universal Outdoor TV Fixed Tilt Mount for 43-65" TVs. (Note: The Sanus Premium Outdoor Full-Motion Mount for TVs 40"-85" available from BestBuy should work fine also (still investigating); add a padlock for added security.) A word regarding setting up the TV: Due to its weight of 67 lbs (31 kg) - shipping weight is 88 lbs (40 kg) - you would need to be two people to unbox the TV, carry it to the desired location, and mount it on the wall. Once connected to the LAN and OTA (Over-The-Air) antenna (or cable TV) and powered up, setting up the TV is very easy thanks to the LG webOS operating system that powers this TV. Just follow the prompts on the TV screen. Verdict: 4 stars (out of 5 stars) due to the reasons mentioned above.

You are going to get the quality you pay for. Especially for the outdoors of Texas this picture looked outstanding during the sunny times and at night the picture is amazing. The sound is good but I added a sound bar and it sounds awesome. Great for outdoor parties or just hanging out. Recommend if you use a wall mount have it done professionally unless you know what you are doing because it is heavier than inside tvs.

I have always just used a relatively cheap flat screen TV for my outdoor patio viewing area. The sun was always an issue with the glare, so if you weren't pretty close to the TV, the picture was hard to see. I finally made the decision to get the outdoor-specific television, and it makes an incredible difference! The picture is bright and visible at all hours of the day, even with some sun directly on it. The webOS software included on it makes set-up with your home network simple, and the streaming options included (and that can be added) are easily accessible through the webOS remote that is included. It includes two extended range wi-fi attennas, and the signal pick-up is very strong outside. The connection with my Roku stick and JBL sound bar was literally instant- I don't think I even had to install either one. I only use the streaming stick for familiarity -not because it's needed. One thing I will caution you on- this TV is HEAVY. Make sure you have someone strong help you with installation, or possibly even consider professional installation. In hindsight, I wish I would have. If you're wondering if an outdoor tv really makes a difference - it does. I'm a believer now, and this is a really good one to consider.
