We are very happy with this microwave. It fit perfectly over our range and has many features such as ventilation, a bottom light and shelf.

I didn’t understand all the negative reviews until I got it home. It’s a great style, the display is good, it has the turntable on/off option, has the steel rack for stacking, it has a very bright light compared to the others in the under $250 range, and the fan was a little loud but not too bad as others had written and it doesn’t stay on like others had said. Installation was easy, this was the second over the range I have installed. I chose not to wait for a friend to help me, due to either my lack of patience or just my excitement to have a new microwave, and mounted it myself with no problem. It’s a little awkward and I recommend two people but alone is feasible. I turned on the fan and it was loud. There isn’t much of a discernible difference between high and low either. They are both loud, louder than it seemed in the store even though there is much more noise in that environment. Also, the light was not nearly as bright as in the store. Then I discovered there was only one light bulb on this one when the display had 2 bulbs, and the light output still was not as bright per bulb. I went back to the store and discovered the model # was slightly different. My receipt stated model JVM1540SNSS, the store display had a mfg tag of JVM1540SN1SS (notice the 1) and my mfg tag had JVM1540SPSS (notice the P). Either way, it was different than the display model. Just be aware that what you’re getting isn’t necessarily EXACTLY as displayed. GE took out one light bulb, possibly changed the fan and who knows what else. If you don’t mind the noise or the dim light, it’s nice, however I have no long term info or cooking quality reviews. I was aggravated about this so I went back and bought the Whirlpool WHM1163XVS; no rack or turntable off button, but it has great reviews, it’s quiet and has a real high and low fan. Plus you can program the light to turn on/off at certain times.

Was installed on a timely basis and I have had no problems. I find the short cut keys helpful.

I love this microwave and believe it would meet the needs of most people.

11 years ago we bought the early model of this microwave and it has been wonderful! We've never even had to change the light bulbs. But 2 weeks ago the circuit board on the underneath blew and the replacement cost would have been $189. SO we purchased a newer model of the same GE spacemaker ... or so you would think. SHAME on GE - this new model is flimsy and the over the stove light gets very hot! My dishes get way too hot inside and a little piece of the door broke off and had to be glued back on. The digital clock is crooked and the door and control panel aren't flush along the bottom. AND it is noisy!! Think twice before purchasing this.

I needed a replacement for my old GE JVM1640, which lasted 10 years. This unit fit perfectly into the space from the original unit, even though I was told that it would not. This unit is quiter than the original model and everything is working fine so far. The only minor drawbacks are that there is less light under this model and 1 vent as compared to 2 lights and 2 vents on older model. The space inside the microwave is slightly larger and the keypad is slightly smaller, but all in all I am happy with this purchase.

This unit is what I have learned to expected from GE. It works great, suits our needs, and looks good in our kitchen. We had an execllent 14 year old GE microwave that just stopped working one day. From reading others reviews I figurged we would purchase a new one rather than to make a service call. I installed the unit myself (same for the previous one) which was fairly easy as all I had to do was remove the old one and install the new mounting bracket and mount the unit. We purchased the microwave on line at the Best Buy web site and then picked up at the local store when we were notified that it had came into stock. It was only a few days wait as promised on their web site. We are stisfied overall with the purchase.

Besides the affordable price ($159.99), this microwave looks nice and was easy to install over the range. It cooks food evenly throughout and has the essential features that are up to speed with today's technology. I installed the microwave on 10/26/11, and I am hoping for years of usage. After registering the microwave, I did receive an offer to purchase a (1) year warranty as the magnetron only has a (1) year warranty, which is something to keep in mind. But overall, I am pleased with my purchase!

I replaced my tiny countertop microwave with this beauty. Parents bought for it for me for my birthday and I love it. There's plenty of room inside if you have square dinner plates, like we do and food cooks quickly and evenly. It has a really nice esthetic and looks really, really nice in my kitchen. My only complaint would be that the fan is a little loud. It's nothing that I really care about, but if I had to name one detracting thing, that'd be it. I don't know if it's because I have it set up as a recirculating fan. I live in a condo building, so the option to connect the exhaust to a duct and send the exhaust out was not an option. I don't know if you have that option, if the fan loudness is solved. Eh, either way - I don't really care. I love the microwave and hope it keeps on working as well as it has been for years to come!

We really enjoying the new microwave. It's so pretty and now that it is above the stove,we have regained valuable counter space in our small kitchen. It is quick and very user friendly. It's a tad bit loud, but you get used to it very quickly

This is my first over the range microwave and I love it. It's large, easy to operate and I especially like the extra rack inside and the turntable on/off feature. You won't go wrong with this one.
