    Have a few gen 1's in the house. This one is faster for sure. Only negative is the lack to FORCE the audio to come out 5.1. Lots of things are still stereo sound.

    The new chromecast (i had the older version) is a lot faster and very easy to setup. It does everything that it states to do so no need to be redundant. Just make sure you know you have to have a power source either on your TV (USB) or by an outlet. It's a little misleading when you look at the picture

    I bought the Chromecast in order to do one and only one thing - to stream media from my phone to a projector. ....It works as advertised, and the only minor complaint that I have is that there is no method to turn the device off - you either leave it on, or need to physically unplug the USB power supply.

    Chomecast will take anything you can watch on your computer and bring it to your larger televisions easily and without wires. Think of it as a wireless connection to make your television a giant computer screen. Great for watching movies and sports not available on broadcast TV or cable!! Just plug in to the USB port on the back on most newer televisions, and you're basically good to go. Wife and I have added Chromecast to every television in our home.. you need to as well !!
