It's small and easy to install.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weeding through the You tube info is a time consuming trial and error process for this 74 year old. My 20 year old daughter almost got it running with our big smart screen tv. I wanted this for another hdtv that is not a smart screen. I have been told I will be able to play my videos through the cromecast with more formats available

Great simple device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Chromecast to test out the new YouTube TV service. In the box you have the device itself, and a power cord. Can't get easier than that. You plug it into the TV, connect the power, and the device displays the next steps on the screen. Once you download the app from the app store (Apple for me), you are guided through setup, and up and running within minutes. Overall a great device to take on trips, use in hotel rooms, and more. Everything you display on TV is coming from your iPhone or tablet. This is great for hotels with complicated wifi that other devices (Roku) may have trouble with. Not every app will work with the Chromecast, so make sure what you want to use is supported before purchasing. Also, some apps may work with Chromecast on an iPad, but not an iPhone. I give 5 stars for the simplicity of design and ease of setup.

Decent for streaming services
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast is pretty good for streaming things like Netflix or Youtube. There's some buffering, but it's not too much. However, it's really difficult to stream your home movie files that may be in .avi or .mkv format. In fact, I haven't really found a good solution. I bought this to go cable free and now I almost wish I would have bought one of the other devices for streaming that allow more flexibility.
