This one is one of the simplest and easiest to install and use. Just plug it in and follow the onscreen prompts. This upgraded version features an extended connector for those tight fitting hdmi areas.

Excellent for My Needs

It does not have some of the "bells and whistles" some of the higher dollar units and I don't want it to. I simply want seamless streaming to my 1080p television set for the best cost possible. Given this goal, the Chromecast is amazing as it allows me to stream through both native Android and iOS apps as well as (and perhaps more importantly) directly through my Chrome browser on any Mac, Windows, or Chromebook "laptop." No need for proprietary subscriptions, secret handshakes, or pledges of my firstborn's birth rights. Just a simple solution that works when and how I want it to. All for less than $40, which is just what I needed for my 1080P requirements.

Great upgrade over the last gen

My only complaints about the last gen was how slow it was when loading and streaming content. The current gen definitely fixed this with uograded wifi. I like the shape of the first gen better but it doesn't matter since it sits behind the tv.
