Bought this for my gf for Christmas so we could watch Netflix on her TV when I come over and chill. Works great with her iPhone. I kinda wish I had it over my PS3 because it will play all the same apps plus WatchESPN. (The Blu-ray is nice though.) Easy to set up & we haven't had any problems.

Easy way to stream to a "dumb" TV.

I've been using Chromecasts since the first rev came out. It's great to be able to stream from a laptop or Android phone/tablet to your TV to watch podcasts or Netflix/Hulu. I hung a "dumb" Samsung TV in my basement and rather than both to run coax for cable TV I just use the Chromecast to watch podcasts when I'm working down there. My retired parents are decent with tech and they have no problem using these at their house as well. I like using accessories like this for streaming rather than get a "smart" TV that the manufacturer might stop issuing updates for after a few years even though the TV is still fine. Even if Google stops updating this model of Chromecast in a few years, you're only out the cost of the Chromecast rather than the whole TV becoming a brick. TVs that have a USB port on them will usually be able to provide power to the Chromecast through it as well, so that's one less cable to have to run.

We decided to try Chromecast to display our powerpoint presentations on the television in our facility. No one was quite sure it would work. We followed the online instructions and VIOLA', it works great. We also use our smart phone to video lessons and can view them as they are being videos

I have the older model and liked it well enough that I thought my mom would be able to utilize it. She is tech savvy and required no assistance to set it up herself. I found the performance to be noticeably improved, but not so much that I would replace the one that I currently use for myself.

A friend recommended I try out Google Chromecast and it is the best accessory for my smart tv. I can stream anything from my phone or laptop right to it. The 2015 looks better than the prior years as well and this was on sale at Best Buy for $30 instead of $35. I highly recommend chromecast!

It's a chromecast. That means it has near universal support. It might take some time getting used to, but it is worth the effort. I can stream pretty much anything I want with ease.. Just casting my desktop allows me to bypass the nasty feud Amazon and Google have at the moment, so no worries about getting Amazon Prime video to play. Standard support for Netflix, Hulu, Crunchyroll, Youtube, and a variety of other streaming sources. This is my go to for wedding gifts as it is so incredibly versatile and the price point is great. I've purchased somewhere between 10-15 in the past several years.

This is a wonderful option for those wanting to cut the cable cord. Its small size fits in the palm of your hand. It connects via the HDMI port. For power it uses the USB port or can connect to a wall outlet via a power cord which is included. I recommend using the USB port since there will be less wires coming from the back of the tv. You must download individual apps on your smart device in order to 'cast' them to the tv to watch. Most apps require a subscription, but if you know someone with cable subscription just use their login info (it doesn't cost them anything extra). I have one in the living room and bedroom.

The Chrome is really good at doing one thing, casting. It handles it better than anything, but it's also the only thing it does. The best benefit is actually the free trials that come with it. 3 months of Google Play Music Unlimited alone made the purchase worth it. Why? Because Google Play Music comes with YouTube Red and I love YouTube but hate commercials.

Bought this to stream youtube tv to my smart tv even though my tv has youtube built into it (YouTube issue) it works great. Much better than using the tv stream connection cause I don't have to leave the phone on to mirror the image while watching shows and movies.

I've been using the first get chrome casts for years. Recently adding YouTube tv, it was slow to load. I replaced my old ones with this new one, and everything works perfect. I also used to have random connection issues with the old ones. Zero connection issues now.

Chromecast is easy to setup and use for anyone familiar with modern basic mobile and television technology. If you use Google products or utilize an Android based device the Chromecast is an inexpensive way to broaden the utility of all your interconnected devices.

Bought this product as alternative to cable has great connectivity and rarely buffers during the movie, it can be connected to multiple devices. Much cheaper than purchasing a smart TV stream's clear. Screen sharing is great connects automatically to Pandora and most apps on your phone.

I have the 1st gen Chromecast and it did a job well done when it was needed. The 2nd gen improves quite a bit. The picture quality improved due to the hardware upgrades and no lag when streaming. 5ghz was a welcome addition.

I got the Chromecast so we could watch tv in our bedroom without paying for another cable box, and so far it has worked out pretty well. The only problem I've run into is that I cannot cast from the xfinityTV app.. Which I don't think is the Chromecast's fault, Comcast just sucks...

Very easy to set up and use. I love that I don't need another separate remote. It is so easy to cast my photos and home videos taken on my smartphone to the tv. And all those pod casts on the internet that don't use an app can be shown on the tv from my internet browser on my laptop.
