Easy way to get Netflix or HBO Go streaming to a TV that isn't smart or has apps; works from both a phone or computer. Did not have the old version so I can't really compare the two.

Had been using my last droid phone with an MHL cable to stream Hulu and a few others in the kitchen. This works better and even turns on the tv when it picks up a stream. Just keep in mind it's just the middle man and you need something else to initiate the stream.

I had the old version of it and I loved so decided to give one away for Christmas! I use it all the time to watch movies and listen to pandora at home, no need to buy another flatscreen I love it! Looking forward to buy myself the new version of it, thanks google!

I have a "smart" TV that plays video files from an HDD, but sometimes it just won't play a video format. I bought this so that I could stream stuff from my computer or phone that the TV won't innately play. Does just that. A+ product, Google.

I love being able to cast Youtube and Spotify to my TV in a moments notice. Works seamlessly and setup is easy. Luckily my receiver has a usb power output so I didnt need to run a power cable to an outlet!

Chromecast is the best video streaming device available now. The fun is more if you have an android device (phone or tablet) with number of android apps and games with Chromecast support. Also you can cast from your Chrome desktop browser using Google Cast plugin!

Bought for my nephews in foreign state. Workinbg perfectly. Can be used as with Chromecast app and other casting apps in the market. Difference with old version is basically ability to use dual frequency.

I stream from YouTube and from other movie and show apps. This product has allowed me to watch some older TV shows and movies from my computer or my tablet. There are shows on cable I enjoy, but am seriously considering dropping it as this has given me so many more options. Can't wait to see what Google Chrome can do down the line!

Chromecast is so easy to connect and use. And there are no continuing fees or subscriptions after you install the device to your TV. Works with your Android phone with no problem and will show anything that is on your phone on your TV screen!

The Google Chromecast is an inexpensive electronic gadget that lets me combine my computer with my television screen. I can read email and documents that I am writing, as well as viewing Utube, and other internet videos. It was very easy to install, and activate.

The chromcast is amazing. The setup process was simple and the instruction guide was very user friendly. I now have a way of watching movies, tv shows and music videos from YouTube on my tv. I will definitely be recommending the chromcast to family and friends.

Very fast load times especially when connected to your 5G home network... Crystal clear images. Works great with IOS and Androis devices. I mainly use mine for plex Netflix and casting of my entire screen on my laptop with audio. Chrome browser needed for this.

The set up was easy, You can use your iPhone or iPad. The unit is affordable. Even if there's no remote - you can download the App to your smartphone or tablet and you control it from your device. The resolution is good with no delay or buffering.

Is the whole chromecast, using a tablet, phone or web browser thing ideal? NO... BUT IT WORKS. I bought this to compliment the Google home mini capabilities on my TV. Right now the features are lacking but nothing at fault of the chromecast itself - - it does what it is supposed to do and with out fail.

I bought 2 for $50 ($25 each) and they work great. Simply plugs into HDMI port on one end and power from the USB port on the other. Problem I was trying to solve was "casting" content from an apple device to a smart TV with an android based OS. Problem solved!

I bought specifically to show off my pictures from my Iphone onto a large screen and works quite well. Just need to get used to the delays when moving from one pic to another. Haven't used it yet for movie streaming, but really don't much use for this service.

you know what this is. convenience of having. a smart tv everywhere you go and it’s great for simplicity sake. personally i like the fire more but it’s nice to have something when you travel without packing up consoles and stuff like that.
