Originally purchase this to stream content directly to my TV; found out that my TV has chromecast built in so I decided to use it for my DENON amplifier. This works well to stream audio directly to my 5.1 speaker system (connected to the amplifier via HDMI).

The google chromecast was quick and easy to install. I have not had any connection issues when casting from my iPad to my tv. This is excellent solution for cord cutters or for when the cable goes out.

I was late on the bandwagon with this one, but I absolutely love this device. It makes streaming videos easy and without hassle of a console or some kind of player. It really is simple to use and basically idiot proof.

I purchased this chrome(2015) about a month ago and I really like it ..i love not having to use a hdmi cable anymore no more restrictions. .The only con i have is that it does disconnect from time to time that can be a Pain but ideally its great .But im glad i purchased this item

As long as you have a free HDMI on your television set you can turn it into a smart TV. This setup was a breeze and I can see anything on my tablet on the larger screen. The small size and portability are just a bonus

I love my chromecast! I use it every night to watch videos on YouTube and also in my family we use it at least 2-3 times a week for something that the whole family will enjoy! It's amazing especially for the price!!!

I bought my son a Chromecast for Christmas last year and he liked it so much he asked for another one this year so he could have one for his other TV. Best Buy had the best price two years in a row!

I have never been familiar with this form of technology! but best gift to buy for the family especially for a history major i always have to watch old films on netflix so much better on tv than on my phone or laptop!

Hardware - plugged in and played right away. Control through cell phone was another matter. Took some effort and memory to load up cell phone. Control this way is not smooth. Media Products - there are a LOT of useless movies, what a waste of time, talent, and resources and for what? In other words typical celebrity mindlessness, shallowness, and ego. Netflics and others do offer a few good movies, but app downloads for EACH provider into EACH controlling cell phone is necessary - ugh. Hard to tell if I would recommend product to others... probably with advice given here.

This is easily one of my favorite gadgets, whether you own an iPhone or an android phone. I own a 3rd generation apple tv and I find the chromecast is faster and more responsive. Having access to free apps like plex, that is compatible with the chromecast, just makes it that much better. As far as the price point, thats probably where it really beats the competition, it is only $35 and will give you nearly all of the usability you would expect from streaming devices worth double that amount.

The Chromecast device I bought has a never ending list of options. I enjoy streaming my hulu and Netflix movies, I no longer have to watch movies on my phone! I continue to find new things everyday.

This is very useful when you are watching or looking at something on your computer and you want to view it on your TV. You get better sound and a better picture that way. I use it almost every day.

Great alternative to Cable, I recently turned in the cable box and went digital. This little device has made that transition very easy. Plus it is a lot more fun.

Setup was straightforward, though a bit slow in loading the firmware updates needed to complete the setup. The lag mentioned by other reviewers can be a bit annoying, but it does seem to be mostly related to the stream source rather than inherent in the unit itself. The unit integrates well with other Google Home products with one drawback to me - even when plugged into an AV receiver, the unit is not considered an audio device and cannot be grouped with other speaker devices. It seems to be an artificial limitation that possibly could be changed in the future.

I like the fact that you can play movies that are on your phone, laptop, Ipad and play them directly on your television. Even if there is a movie or video you recorded on your phone it can be seen on your television.

Needed this to watch movies and TV while traveling for work. Cheap, easy to setup, and easy to use. Mind, if you are going to be using this in a hotel, unless it is a chain with built in Chromecasts (such as Hilton) then you will have to make your phone or tablet a mobile hotspot to connect your Chromecast, as they can't connect to networks with additional sign in info required. Easy enough to do though. I would recommend going with the Chromecast Ultra if you have a 4K TV for a better viewing experience. I did not so I chose this because there was no added benefit for the extra cost.

Great device. I use on an LCD TV without any internet connection and it is a life changer for our family! Use it to watch Disney anywhere movies and Vudu movies with ease, no need to huddle around the iPad anymore!

Last year I purchased 3 Google chrome cast for my family; now I did it for me!! I am very happy with this dispositive!! I can connect my mini Ipad to my tv and watch Netflix and other programs!! I do recommend it....

This product is a lifesaver when it comes to watching movies off the phone/tablet. No more fighting over who will hold the tablet and someone else not able to see it! Just connect it to the tv and everyone can watch

This is great! I am streaming my home movies from PLEX NAS device which is sitting in my living room at home which is about 1,000 miles away from the hotel room that I am staying in tonight! So excited!! Love it :)
