All my tvs have one for a reason.

Its nice because my son can use the netflix app on his ipod to send his shows to the TV by himself. It is also useful for viewing web content on the television so that everyone can be included and its all done wireless.

Easy way to get streaming video

We use it for hulu and Netflix and watch YouTube videos also. It great for looking at stuff off your chrome web browser also. Also works with red bull tv and pandora. Google needs to add some more apps for it though. But I have been able to reduce my cable tv Down to basic now and only use it for local tv.
