Excellent for none smart TVs

Only down side is that it does reduce internet speed for some reason but not as bad If you have a good speed. You can also use it with the Google Chrome Add-in which will allow sharing pretty much everything in that explorer.

Has potential

You can throw videos from your phones YouTube app or your computers Google Chrome browser. Only problem is that it won't show full screen from your computer right now. I hope this will be fixed in the near future.

No need for a smart tv or add on box

Watch both services on any TV with an empty HDMI port. No need to have a smart TV, or any brand of add on box. I hope Google adds the ability for even more apps to use Chromecast. Great product.

Works with some hardware

I installed Chrome and Chromecast on my WinTel laptop, and was quickly able to cast my browser screen to my TV. I could not cast my Amazon Prime audio or video content to the TV. Just the frame and tabs from Chrome, with a big black box in the middle. An alert showed a 'documented incompatibility' with Silverlight or Quicktime. I removed Silverlight and on restarting the system offered to install it. Great. Back at the store, when asked if it worked with Kindle and Amazon Prime,the Google rep said "Yeah, no...". In this case the 'no' was the correct answer. Best Buy was great - refund with no Qs asked. If it supports your hardware, have at it.
