I didn't know when I bought it that it didn't work with a proxy server and I use the WIFI in our RV park. My grandson had recommended it and it worked well for him. I did not return it because we may get our own WIFI then I can use it. Be sure and read fine print or ask to open and read the instructions.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the chromecast. Plays music and videos, but needs to have same options for tablets as computers. Videos can only be played using special apps not through chrome on tablets.

I can not believe this item is only $35.00. I picked up not thinking I would use it that much but I now use it about everyday. This is one step closer to breaking my link to my cable company. It steams Vevo and Netflix with no problem and you will be amazed at how fast it will become part of your daily life.

These work great with a gen 1 hue hub and a smartthings hub. My daughter loves picking colors of her night lights and I love the fact that I can dim them and set them on a schedule. I wouldn't pay $70 but at $12 each, this was a no brainier.

I can say I totally enjoy this receiver. No cable, no antenna, just wi-fi and your phone, tablet, or lap top. Awesome.

I love it now I can watch my favorite You Tube shows like Tek Syndicate, and Twitch streams like the WAN Show on my big screen T.V. I only wish Google Play Music on the desk top Had a integrated cast tab like You Tube but it still works casting from the browser.

For those who would like to see things on Big Screen , specially the HD quality just from an ordinary Mobile device, its amazing to have this device which seamlessly connects your mobile devices to HD Quality TV with 46 inches, makes the day on a holiday.

This device makes it so much easier to cue up videos from YouTube and Netflix, as you do it from your phone which has a much richer user interface than a standard remote control. My son has one as well, and he says he vastly prefers watching video through Chromecast over doing it via his game console.

I bought this to stream Netflix to a spare TV, but it does so much more than that. It is useful for mirroring my Galaxy S5 phone to the TV, good for showing whatever I'm doing to the whole family.

It streams youtube, netflix videos perfectly. It has great potential. However, chrome tab sharing and desktop screen sharing does not work too well. It is in beta version. So hoping that it will be improved.

THis is one of those items with high purcahse-return statistics. I read it up before purchasing though but decided to go through with it since wife wanted just one of its capabilities. I reasoned that for her sake it was worth not returning. Else I won't even get to buy it in the first place. Online research promised one or two things by googlechrome browser and all came to nothing. They just keep you chasing your tail trying to find a way to make it cast everything or at least regular web content. Bottom line - don't buy it unless you just stream only Netflix and/or youtube.

I am tech challenged but was able to install all by myself. My husband and I don't always watch the same programs and this lets me watch my programs (Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC apps and Netflix) on a different television . Peace reins in our home.

This device works very well when it wants to work. With streaming you can't go wrong. However, try to play a video file from your computer and it's about 50/50 that it won't lag to the point of anger.

Chromecast is nothing but awesome. The thing is what can go wrong. Spending $35 for a wireless transfer of your media is unbeatable. Way ta go Google!!! And with the cash back best buy gives, i got it for $25. So i would say hats off to both chromecast and Google with coming up with such innovations

We absolutely love our Chromecast. After purchasing our first device we loved it so much that we have installed them in all of our tv's. Works great with Netflix and our Google Play music subscription. Highly recommended to anyone with a busy schedule who wants to simplify there home entertainment.

A nice little tool; Works best w/ fast connection. If you don't have a fast connection, you'll be frustrated. Getting ready to cut the cord with cable, so the Chromecast has been a nice addition.

I got this for 35 + tax and it came with 3 months of netflix that can be used with existing accounts, so it was basically 11 plus tax for me. As a netflix streamer, it gets the job done. That being said, this device could have be so much more, and hopefully it will become more fully featured in the future.

Had to try this thing out and was a little disappointed at first but purchased an app from the App Store that would allow me to stream anything I want, after the app purchase it works fantastic ?

this is my 2nd chromecast,to be used at a 2nd location so that I can stream movies in a park ground trailer via wifi,enjoyed the fisrt one so much I knew this would be ideal away from home (I know I could just pull out#1 chromecast , but for me it was easier just to have a 2nd one at a different location

This would be great if you had all the programs it works with, such as Hulu Plus, HBO to go or Netflix. But does not work with Amazon Prime. We can only access Youtube which is fine for the price it was.
