Good product for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an Apple TV that cost $99 and I love it.. So easy to use, purchased the chrome cast for $35 to put in another room.. It serves it's purpose as advertised but I am spoiled with the AppleTV product

It did not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had read great reviews all over internet for Chromecast and bought one to stream videos and photos. However, despite going through all the steps described as well as talking to 3 different Google support associates and trying two different units; I was not able to get it running. I am not sure if there was a problem with my internet or there was a problem with the unit, it did not connect to my Wi-Fi. I am giving it one star because Google was unable to figure out what was wrong with it otherwise I don't have direct experience of using a Chromecast.

Excellent, Cheap Streaming Helper
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Chromecast; my family uses it daily to stream Netflix, YouTube, and various tabs through the tab beta caster. It has definitely been worth the price; the only change I would make would be to make the setup a bit simpler/quicker. I had no issues, but my parents would never have figured it out!

Good at what it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like my Chromcast, I'm finally able to watch Netflix and/or Hulu on my non smart TV. The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't let you stream videos already on your phone. So what ever you have downloaded on your phone, won't show up on your TV. Other than that, it's pretty cool.

Great new device for WiFi streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seamlessly streams media from YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, and a few other media sites. Easy to set up and use. Great for smartphones and computer use. Very easy to move from TV to TV and house to house! They are releasing new development tools soon so we should see more compatibility and streaming sites!

Good product for someone needing apps on their TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am looking forward to increasing my TV's Applications to watch more programs I wasn't able to get before. Wish it had a better signal receiver so it didn't have such a long delay in transmission of streaming video. But still a good buy for it's purpose!

Good but could use some improvement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Trying to watch tv shows online is frustrating. Only compatible apps work well with it. But with apps like YouTube it works fantastic. Sometimes I'll turn on the tv just to watch a video off my iphone.

Good toy. Affordable way to stream content to TV.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For $35 its useful for Youtube streaming alone. I prefer the Roku for other content. I hope that other apps are developed to allow local content to be streamed from computer (outside of Chrome tab).

Cheaper alternative, will get better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love it overall. A little buggy, but it's new. I'm sure further updates will improve the software. The hardware is simple. Too bad you have to have it plugged into a USB/power source. Still great for the price. Wish the apps on iphone interfaced better.

Great for price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've already owned a chromecast and it is great for the price. Unfortunately I had some server issues with installation due to using a particular internet wireless hub. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because I haven't had any issues with use once installed

Great Price for what it does
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely great usage with the YouTube app and the Chrome Browser. Not so much with other apps. I have been trying out the Allcast app for displaying videos, pictures and music from my tablet and I find more and more functionality is being added daily.

Great product; not for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's awesome if you like to send stuff from your phone or PC, but if you like having a remote and apps then better to go with Fire TV or Roku or Apple TV. I find that it is faster and works more smoothly to "cast" rather than try to work with a remote and new UI.

Not ready for primetime.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.According to the Chromecast.com site, "Chromecast works with devices you already own, including Android tablets and smartphones, iPhones®, iPads®, Chrome for Mac® and Chrome for Windows®." That means that screen mirroring from your Android tablet will not work at this time. Screen mirroring from a Win7 PC was choppy. Chromecast did provide quick access to Netflix, Youtube, etc. (but not AmazonPrime at this time). The lack of screen mirroring using an Android device with Chrome, and no AmazonPrime app was, for us, a major limitation, and greatly limited it's usefulness.

Needs more app support
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the easiest way to get Netflix, Hulu Plus and YouTube content on your HDMI-capable TV. With that being said, Google needs to open the platform up to more content providers. The Apple TV does more currently, as does Roku, but they also cost more.

Good product to watch online on non-smart TVs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Though it is limited to Netflix and YoutTube and a few more services, the product is good to view them on your non-smart TVs.

Not so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I stream HD movies from my Mac often I chromecast gets disconnected, also there is lag between video on Mac and TV, I expected more from Google.

Does what it says, great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sale price at under $30 makes it a no-brainer. This travels with me and allows me to cast anywhere. You need the free App. It works well. This is not a Roku. You must have a separate device such as a smartphone. So far, high quality video with no lag.

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a way to play my videos and movies on television screen. For the majority, where video can play through browser, this works. Would love support for other formats as well as the ability to cast from Optimum app on iOS to television

Easy way to watch internet content on your TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Chromecast from Google is a great device to get video's and music off of your computer and onto your TV. Lots of possibilities. YouTube and Google Play integration work great. Also "casting" content directly from your Chrome web browser works great as well, this is actually how we use it the most.

Chromecast works as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this to broadcast my macbook pro, ipad and iphone to my TV. After a few weeks of usage, my Insignia 35" flat screen died.. Not sure if there is a connection, but the timing is curious. Insignia support was like: "you're on your own sucka.."
