Setup in 5 minutes. Control with smartphone and table right away. Need install Chrome in your laptop then active extension for mirroring through Chromecast. Only Netflix and Youtube are built. Lack Google and 3rd party apps.

The chrome cast does what it says it does, but could easily do more. One is make it cordless. Two have it stream Netflix or amazon prime without running out through there system.

The chromecast is a good gadget to have at home but it was a few bugs that make it freeze, taking away from its five star potential.

This works great to use on TV that does not have a cable connection. Also I use it when at vacation home. Will be much better when you can broadcast from chrome browser with an I-pad or Phone instead of having to use app.

It worked ok with Android google stuff but not real good but with Windows phone or laptop, forget it if you have Iphone, it sucked.

It is cheap so I don't feel like I wasted my money or anything. Just a little disappointed you can't stream from internet using an iPad.

It's a great product. Well worth the price. I would imagine that as the more time goes on the more apps (for television) will be added.

I did not know it needed to be plugged in with an adapter. I was only thinking it was plug an play.setting it up was now easy.I'll try again later. I'll keep it. It might be me.

Bought it for streaming videos - but, then realized browser is not supported from iPad. Also, had connection issues using iPad - connection was successful first time and could stream videos. But, later, on next day, connection could not be established and there was no way to reestablish a connection. Will need to see how to reset the device. It worked well from youtube. However, not a great usable device if you have Smart TV.

I use it to mirror my HTC One screen and works like a charm! Seamlessly mirrors MX player displays.

I purchased this on a hope that it would live up to the hype. This product does everything we need it to do, only downside is that it requires power to be connected before you can connector device and stream content.

Works as described. Easy to setup. Appears to create an ad-hoc wireless network between the Chromecast and your laptop/phone/tablet to enable you to enter your home wifi password. After that, you can start streaming from youtube, netflix etc. Very easy to "cast" a video from youTube, then keep browsing youTube and pick another video and add it to the queue. Look forward to future app compatibility but it's very useful as it is now, especially for the price. I'll admit to being a little uneducated on HDMI, so bear with me! This is an HDMI device that can switch inputs on your TV, even turn it on. So it's very easy if you want to pop a video to your television, you don't even have to reach for the TV remote. (Not sure if that's support on all TVs or if it's part of the HDMI standard). The only minor (very minor) gripe I have is that there is a little lag between what you do on your phone and what happens on the screen. Controlling playback is mostly lag free, however sending a new video takes a little time (no more than a few seconds). This appears to be mostly because the Chromecast has to buffer the video since it is downloading it from the internet and not just streaming it off your phone. This really doesn't hinder the overall performance of the device and I doubt that it could be avoided. This is not revolutionary or groundbreaking. It is handy, cheap and a lot easier than trying to boot up the game system or other streamer to watch a YouTube video.

Purchased this to stream Netflix, Hulu+, and HBO Go. Works like a charm. Only 4 stars because it doesn't include a remote and some devices manage the playback better than others.

This is a fun toy. I wish I could stream anything through it from my iPad, but seems limited to pictures and videos from my camera. Maybe I haven't completely figured it out yet.

Haven't been able to set up Chromecast, since the day we purchased. Thought it might be our internet service so after talking to them many different times with many different people there they all say the same thing. Your internet is working fine and you need to either return the product because it might be defective or you need to call Google. Well I've tried contacting Google all three times was put on hold for more then 30 min. I've tried their recommendation of online but is there anything less complicated.

Owe some device to control your TV from phone. It steams videos from phone still won't drain battery on phone and you can use your phone for other things like calling while streaming.

It works - I had to download software to stream to it. Other than that it is simply a streaming Client. I would prefer the Amazon fire.

After reading Clark Howard article in my local newspaper on how to save money on your cable bills. I went out and purchase it. return the extra cable box I was paying for each month. Have not miss a beat in watching TV.

Hopefully more features will come to it in the future to as it is today there is really only a select few apps that are compatible with it

easy to set up and install, works well with my Android even though my wi-fi made the projections choppy. Couldn't sync it very easily with an iphone though so that was frustrating
