I was under the impression that any media from your cell phone/ tablet etc would be able to be stream through the chromecast. I was wrong. It literally only works with a few apps, hbo go netflix and pandora. Anything outside those can't be streamed. :-/

Chromecast is a lot cheaper than all of the other streaming options. It's a better deal for what you get, but I doesn't do as much as I wish it did. Notably, more programs that it cooperated with would be great, especially amazon instant video or xfinity.

This is great to clean up the messiness of wires but the picture chooses when it wants to be clear. I'm aware that it depends on WiFi strength but this is the only device that consistently obtains a weak signal. If thats not a concern this is a great buy.

The range of its WiFi isn't that great. You cannot use it for Amazon Prime, even though it is thru Chrome. The description says anything displayed on Chrome will work. It did pause a few times on YouTube, with the audio keeping on and the video stalling.
