    I bought it because of the hype. It is a cool gadget and it has potential. I haven't tried the newer version, but the old version needed a lot of work. Even though it had problems, I liked using it.

    As you cannot disable AP Isolation mode with the Uverse modem/router you cannot use this product with Uverse or any other ISP that doesn't allow you to modify this setting.

    I've mainly used AppleTVs and XBMC and I thought the Chromecast was along the same lines. The issue I had with it is everything had to be played from Chrome or a device.

    I bought several of these for gifts and one for myself. It was easy enough to set up, I would like to be able to download movies I already have and be able to cast those, but I am having problems with doing that.

    The Apple is probably a better product, but at 3 times the cost. The Chromecast works well for YouTube from my phone, but displays poor video quality from my laptop casting a browser window showing a movie or TV show.

    I wish you could do a slide show of pictures off tablet or phone. Does not provide instructions on how to use and do things, or examples, have to learn everything yourself. Once we use it more may become more useful.

    I enjoy chrome cast but it keeps either freezing or disconnecting. I thought it was the wireless modem placement, so I moved it closer but I still have the problems.
