Tried two days and could not get it to work. took it back and bought a firestick, works great

I had expected am easy installation. I was disappointed. The instructions on line were difficult to follow and installation was cumbersome and slow. It too three times installing the program to finally have it kind of work. While I could see what was supposed to happen but never got to the point where it worked with either my tablet or cellphone. :-(

It broadcasts as expected. Good for viewing streaming media on a larger display for all to watch.

We thought the Chromecast was just like all the other streaming devices in the market. Once, I plugged it in I realized I could not stream directly from the device over the wireless. I had to return 3 of them and replace them with Roku sticks. The Chromecast may have some great potential uses but it lacks the capabilities of the competitor devices.

will not broadcast whole desktop, only works with chrome, weird UI

I have not asked if they like the gift. you should have a checkbox if the item was given as a gift.

I think that for the $ it's not a bad purchase but I definitely got more for my money with Roku

Two clerks told me this was. Compatible with a kindle fire. It is not. I would like to return.

The projection is good. Thought I will use it more often. But it looked more than a toy for me

Was pleasantly awaiting the Chromecast as my first google hardware device. I was able to find the device on my network, but once it said "Ready to Cast" my browser kept reporting "No Chrome Cast Devices Found". This was in Windows 7 (Dual-boot Mac). Flipped over the the Mac side, set it up, it WORKED, for an hour. Then it did the same thing it was doing on the Win 7 side, ready to cast, but the browser couldn't find the device. ARRRGG. Tinkered for hours, moving the computer closer to the TV, resetting the device, playing with my router setting, to no avail. I've been using PC's since the Commodore 64 and I'm a professional software quality assurance specialist by trade. I finally ended up returning the device, my $20 Display Mini-port adapter to HDMI out is back in use. At least I got a free 3-month netflix subscription out of the deal. Otherwise, very frustrated, and happy to see it gone. I know better than to buy a 1.0 of anything, but I did anyway and I payed the price for it.

Once I have completed set up, I think that I will like it. Excited about its potential ease of use

The whole reason I got this was to stream netflix to my tv from a PC. The screen shows the netflix loading screen and nothing else. I'm sure this is a software update issue and should get resolved hopefully soon, but it's disappointing when it doesn't work out of the box.

It took a little bit of time to setup, but I got this working OK. The next time I went to use it, it stopped working. The Google help screens did not offer any solutions. I want to watch TV to relax, not to do tech support for an hour. Would be great if it worked. Maybe it will next time, but I'll need a little more patience before I attempt it again.

This is the worst follow through setup ever and it hasn't worked yet! Waste of time and money!

We mainly use it to run Plex and other small apps, and we found that it crashed all the time.

I would not buy this product again... A lot of hype over this product and truly not worthwhile...

At first it was a bit difficult to connect with WIFI, but finally got it working and love it.

Not impressed at all, seriously flawed connection issues. Works only when it wants, barely.

Doesn't work with safari browser. Also poor iPhone app quality communicating with Chromecast.
