this little device is AMAZING. Combined with a few apps, we've been able to watch nearly everything that's on my phone and tablet. This even includes videos from streaming websites. Mind Blown !! Yeah yeah, you can watch netflix and hulu and popular apps. I was also able to watch streaming content from.."adult" websites on my TV. I couldnt believe it. here's a tip...get the aptoide app and get the showbox app and you'll be watching TONS for free movies and shows effortlessly on your tv. watching a HD slide show of family pictures blew my parents away. If you have wifi, a nice tv, and a smartphone, this device is a MUST. I feel like an idiot for buying this so late. Get the Chromecast. you wont regret it.

When streaming to the TV I can't use my Galaxy S3 to surf the internet or run any programs, it slows the streaming down. The quality is poor quality and very choppy. I had to watch Netflix from my PS3 instead.

I got this primarily to stream NBC Sports Live Extra to my TV from my Mac Book Pro. It can do it for a couple of mins but then it crashes. I am not sure if this a issue on the device or if its an issue on the Chrome plugin for Mac. Either way, Disappointed. I hope it gets fixed with either firmware updates or Plugin updates.

Simple as 1,2,3 I'm a big apple fan, but I have to give it to Google. This little thing rocks, not a true Apple TV. Because its new, but for $35 bucks it will soon give Apple TV a run. Using it with a MacBook Pro, iPad 3, iPad mini and iPhone 5. Works flawless and super small !! Just push the button and it's working.

I bought this as soon as it was announced this week. I figured for $35 and 3 free months of Netflix (at the time) how could you go wrong. I got it yesterday and I am very impressed. I downloaded the chromecast app on my Nexus phone to set it up but you can just as easily set it up from a Windows or Mac computer or tablet. It took me almost as long to open the box it as it took to set it up. Just a few minutes. The steps to use it. From the phone/tablet just launch Netflix, YouTube or Google Play and pick a video and choose to Cast it to the TV. What happens next is what really impresses me. It not only turns on your TV but also switches the input to the proper input (HDMI1, 2 or whatever) and starts playing. At that point you can use your device however you'd like while the video plays as its not dependent on the source device at all. If you want to stop, ffwd, rewind or whatever just launch the app and it will show you the controls to do so. YouTube allows you to queue up as many videos as you'd like which it will play in succession. I primarily use it from my Nexus but have tested with an old iPhone and it works great there too. Had a friend over yesterday and we were loading the YouTube queue simultaneously from my Nexus and his iPhone. If you'd like to Cast from your browser launch Chrome and download the plugin available in the Chrome Store then all you do is press the icon in the right hand corner of the screen and your browser tab will show up on the TV. Its so easy to use you almost forget its there. Its a very natural extension of using your tablet or phone and the videos looked great. HD YouTube looks amazing.

I bought this to stream movies from Netflix to my TV. I downloaded Chromcast and then went to the website to set-up it up....followed the installation directions exactly and it kept saying it couldn't connect but on the computer it said I was connected.....pretty worthless since there is not an 800 # to call for support.

Great concept by Google. Plug in the device to the HDMI port, attached the power via a USB connection and go. For me it works fine because it gives me a way of using Youtube and Netflix on a TV not connected to the internet. Fast and easy setup. I'm hoping for either an upgraded version or a firmware upgrade that will allow Chromecast to stream content off a media server or a USB device. Also, Google should have the web browsing of Chrome be used through Chromecast. It doesn't seem right that this feature is not included. Good value for sub $30 price tag.

    Fantastic device!

I picked mine up earlier today and just now had a chance to set it up. As I am still at work I had to use my 4g Tablet as a wifi hotspot to run this. I connected my laptop to the hotspot, hooked the dongle into the tv, switched to the input and went about setting it up. Setting it up is simple, you just use your web browser and it takes all of about 2 minutes. Once I got it set up I downloaded the Google Cast extension for Chrome and went about testing this sucker out. I opened a new tab in Chrome and dragged over a copy of Futurama that I had stored locally on my laptop. Dropped it into that open tab and the video started to play. All I had to do was click the little Cast button on the top right of Chrome and boom, there it was playing flawlessly on the TV. This device is fantastic! Honestly I was expecting the video to be choppy since I was playing it over a tablet hotspot but it was perfect. If you are on the fence about this thing my only suggestion to you is, by one as soon as you can find one! You won't be disappointed.

Inexpensive and easy to install. However, when I adapted my computer to accept the device on my Flat Screen, I was bombarded with unwanted adware and viruses. I have never been able to use it on my TV because the instruction pages are inadequate and do not address any of the problems that a first time user faces.
