Not worth buying this product, would not sync up and spent hours on the phone with Google customer service. Ended up returning to the store.

For 35$ it is impossible to find a product that works so well. It's so easy to use and set up. I use this in my other room as a backup streamer because I also have and Xbox One. The Chromecast is awesome!!!! The only thing I would say though is that if you are willing to spend a little more and deal with a remote instead of a phone app, I would go with one of the cheaper Roku boxes, but for $35 you can't beat the Chromecast.

Had trouble casting from my notebook because of the wifi mouse. Very limited in what this gadget can do. It is very slow casting movies from Netflix. Save your money and get a Roku instead.

This is a beta product. Tired of getting tech products like this. They push it out the door to make money. It can't handle streaming through my wifi. It's spotty and buggy. Returning it.

If you use apps like HBO GO and YouTube (on your phone), the streaming somehow is good., however if you are streaming via a tab in Chrome, the lagging can be pretty drastic.

I was skeptical to purchase a Chromecast since I didn't really know how it worked, or what it would do. I read about how it worked and once I saw it went on sale, I decided to purchase 2 of them and I did not regret it. Set up was simple and I can control both at the same time, watch different shows at the same time and it does not interfere with my phone which is what you control it with.

Turns your TV into a "smart" TV

Connects to the HDMI of your TV and lets you access Netflix, YouTube, Pandora and more online. After a simple setup, you basically use your smartphone, tablet or computer to select what you want to see and then select Chromecast and then your TV is streaming the content. You can then use your mobile device for other purposes as the Chromecast device connects directly to your home WIFI. Any smartphone connected to your WIFI can select the content. Have a teenager or kids visiting? You can show them how to do this in about 15 seconds. More apps are becoming available all the time. I used to use a Samsung Blu-ray player to send Pandora to my HDTV and sound system, but the interface was very clunky with the Blu-ray remote -- try typing with a remote. It's much easier just to use your mobile device to select your content and then Chromecast it. Almost nothing new to learn. I wish that Chromecast could do screen mirroring from mobile devices; it can only do this from the Chrome browser running on a computer, which appears to work but is still listed as Beta. The good part is that this capacity may well be available at some point. There are more apps coming all the time that work with Chromecast; just search online and you'll see what's available. I would not spend the extra money for a "smart TV" since technology is changing rapidly and it will be out-dated too soon to be worth it. BTW, this is Google's #1 selling hardware product.

Did not find out to later that its works with your Smart Phone or Tablet. I rather have something that comes with its own remote. Really just wanted to use it with the TV.

Useless if you already own a smart tv. I was under the impression I could watch anything that I was on my iphone. With a smart tv already the chromecast had no use to me

    Does what it's supposed to

I'm new to the world of HDTVs and video devices. I had done some research on streaming products and the Chromecast seemed like the best bang for your buck. After having it for a month my belief has been further strengthened. It streams Netflix and other compatible apps from your phone and computer onto your TV and that is about it. I wasn't expecting a cool interface like with the apple TV or roku. This device cost me 31 bucks and for that price there is nothing else on the market. It works great with my nexus 7 and plays movies and shows in pretty good quality. The only problem I have is being unable to hook up the Chromecast to an electrical outlet but that is not much of a problem. Overall I like this product and what it does.

I find it hard to use and the set up a pain. It needs to be plugged in and you need to have your phone close to the device to operate. Many flaws.
