Thing plugs into every newer tv, hdmi needed. You then launch chrome via windows, mac, android, ipad, ect. you might need to download a plugin or something. You then type in the code displayed on your tv, into your browser. Then its paired. Anything you have in chrome will display on tv if you hit the little icon on top right of screen. Plus Netflix hulu and some others have a direct push to chromecast button. Its only $35, so doesn't include remotes and such. Apps, specific wise, are slim. But this is just the first one, im sure newer versions and with more apps coded this thing will end up in almost every tv.

We have three in our house and it is the easiest way to turn your regular LED/LCD tv a smart tv. Easy to set up and control from your phone or tablet. The only thing that would make it better is a screen mirror feature.

The Chromecast makes any TV like a smart TV. Why spend a couple hundred bucks more when you can get one of these and cast your phone, tablet, or computer on to your TV?

I wasn't sure about Chromecast for a while, but friends persuaded me to go ahead and give it a whirl. And for $35, I didn't think it'd be too much of a risk. I'm glad I did. I love being able to stream from my iPhone or my laptop with relative ease. Great for sharing videos, pictures, youTube content, and web pages through Google Chrome. Could be compatible with more apps in iOS. Hopefully more items will be added in the not so distant future, like other music sources outside of Pandora. All in all, it's a great value.

There are a lot of things you can do like wirelessly stream from your phone or tablet, but the thing that really drew me in in was the fact that you can watch wirelessly from your computer anything that is on chrome and it goes to your tv. it has Netflix and hulu built in of course but some of the shows I watch weren't popular so they didn't get picked up by them. Now I can watch them on the big screen without the hassle of running cords.

Was very easy to install, only took me about 15 minutes with my iPhone. I didn't initially realize that it had to be plugged into the TV as well as a power outlet, but wasn't any inconvenience for me. Was extremely easy to cast Netflix from my iPhone to the TV!

My husband got this as a Christmas gift and loves it. I can see how Chromecast is useful if you don't have a smart TV or cable, as you're able to stream things directly from your phone or laptop. Very easy to use too!

I love the chromecast. I bought one for myself and one as a gift for Christmas. After that, I went back and bought another one for the living room! I'm always on my ipad anyway so changing my tv to play different shows is as easy as a couple taps of my finger!

I just love this thing it works great(when the internet is cooperating) loving the ability to stream things from my phone and other devices its awesome, and being able to mirror my smartphone display to the tv is great! Really great solution for cord cutting!

The product is good if you know what you are purchasing. Do not compare it to an AppleTV. You are only paying a third so you will be getting less functionality. However, if you have an Android product, i.g. phone/tablet, they supplement each other very well.

easy to use, works ok, my only complaint is sometimes you have to refresh it, and the ap button disappears sometimes, but when it works it works, and is nice, best part is i dont need to plug in an ethernet cable

I wanted to get this to easily show pictures and videos on my big screen and it works perfectly (for photos and videos using the Android Photos app). Also works great for streaming Hulu, music from Google Play and YouTube...I've had no buffering issues.

Installed a Chromecast device today. If you like youtube and especially if you have Hulu or Netflix you should get one. I have four other devices that can play Netflix (Blueray player x2, roku & xbox) none come close to how clear and smooth this thing works. This tiny little thing with no space kicks those huge devices butts for $35... wow!

I was looking into getting a streaming device like the Roku or Apple TV. I have an Android phone, so when Google announced this, I had to look into it. I liked what I saw and the price was very good. Set up was a breeze. You don't get another messy cable to connect in the house since the device connects to a usb that connects to the tv for the power source. You can still connect it to a power outlet if preferred. Only gripe is that more apps don't work with this.

Was skeptical about getting this at first, but so glad that I gave it a shot. Can stream practically anything from a browser or a chromecast compatible app which is awesome. It's great!

I received this as a gift and thought it wont be that cool. It actually is very cool when you want to watch some videos off youtube. I can see how it can be convenient by connecting Netflix with your tv if you do not have a wifi ready television.

I had been thinking of trying this out for quite sometime. I had heard that it would not work well with the iphone. The guy at Best Buy told me the same thing, that it does not work with iphone. However he said that he uses it with his computer and the the picture quality was very good. I was hesitant to try it because I really wanted to use it to stream from my iphone. I decided to try it anyway thinking it would be easy to move from TV to TV and I would just stream from my laptop. Im glad I got it!! After researching the Apple App store it turns out that it does work very well with my iphone. The only drawback is you can only stream Netflix and Youtube from the ipone. I only use it for Netflix anyway. The picture quality is much much better with the Chromecast than with a Sony streaming player I already have connected to another TV.

I love how it is cheaper than the apple tv. It basically does everything that apple tv can do. I wish they can add more compatible devices so even an older galaxy phones can use all the good features.

I just got my Google Chromecast today and it is awesome. Setup honestly took 4 minutes from taking it out of the box. I was a little disappointed that it didn't draw its power from the HDMI connection, but was able to plug the USB into my tv to deliver power. I have it connected to my laptop via the Chromecast extention in Chrome and on my phone using the application. Works with Windows, Mac, most Apple devices, and most Android devices. I highly recommend this product!!!

I'm so happy I finally decided to get the this amazing device. I've been using it almost non stop for two days. The setup is VERY easy and the possibilities endless. Basically I can send content to my TV from Google Chrome on any of my computers at home. Plain and Simple. Now, not only will this device will allow you to display anything on your Chrome browser on to the TV Screen. Now when i access Netflix, HBO Go, Google Music, You Tube on Chrome, I now have a button to send the video/audio over to the TV. ALSO my android phones and tablet can send their content to the TV. Google hit quite a home run with Chrome Cast
