Being able to connect using HDMI is what caught our eye since not all USB connections are equal (some are only for updating firmware, viewing pictures, listening to music, or some have SmartTV capabilities) and there's the option for powering it into the TV's USB or using the AC plug. We use our iPhones more than the laptops to connect, so we had to make sure that we already had the apps installed for Hulu Plus, HBO GO, etc to be able to choose what you want to watch Great deal for the price and no complaints as of yet. Note: Remember to be using the same Wifi as the Chromecast if you use more than one in your home (we have 3 options for connecting due to all of the electronics using Wifi)

I bought Chromecast since Roku does not have a youtube channel and I did not want spent a whole lot of money for Apple TV. Casting from youtube and also from the chrome browser is so easy and of good quality that I don't have to connect my laptop to the tv if I am watching anything over the internet. Also set up is very easy and so is using it. I would definitely recommend this product if you have the same needs as mine.

The Chromecast is an excellent, low cost, media player. I wish more apps were available as a compliment to premium cable subscriptions. I personally prefer the added content from Roku.

This device is perfect for the Netflix, HBO go and showtime. Its a great way of watching all your movies from your google account on the big screen without cables. And there also so many apps compatible with it and growing.

Works great with my iphone, and Android tablet. It comes with a little hdmi extension cord so it should fit on any TV. It does require external power, either by USB or AC adapter.

I like the Chromecast and after originally returning it since it doesn't support streaming from Amazon Instant video, I decided to repurchase it. I missed the wireless casting for my other video watching sites like Youtube, watching TV shows that you have to watch on the network's sites since they aren't available through Hulu, etc. I have my blu-ray for streaming anything through apps like Hulu,Netflix, Vudu, and the Chromecast for anything that I can't get through there. With the price and the 20 dollar Google Play credit, this thing is a steal! Way easier than a family member needing to "sacrifice" their laptop to hook it up via HDMI.

This little gear works great connecting your mobile devices to your TV to stream internet contents with little cost. People who has NAS can enjoy videos in their NAS on TV via their home internet with Chromecast.

Love this! I get to connect this to my big screen tv and watch/ stream movies and shows from my laptop,desktop and cell phone. Its perfect and easy to use!

Probably the best streaming device setup is easy a lot of apps are in development for it and its only $35 which is a lot less than apple tv and roku....plus a cool feature it has is you can mirror your desktop to a big screen tv

Only issue was not fully reading the instructions. After I did read them, worked like a charm. Now I can write my book in my Chromebook Docs while watching Netflix, Hulu, YouTube Playlists... on my television.

Great device! I use it all the time to cast movies from my phone. I have it with a TV in the guest room where I don't have a setup box and use it to case premium channels from my laptop or cellphone!

For the price, this is a great little device that will stream your content to a tv. It was very easy to set up and use. I streamed a movie using a cheap android Tracfone and it worked very well. Light on back shines on wall and wife complained. It doesn't bother me one bit. If it bothers you put a piece of tape over it. Problem solved. I bought one of these for my son-in-law and he said it works great for them.

When I first bought the Chromecast, it was so easy to use!!! My family loved it. But the Chromecast was a little hard to understand. It took over a week for me and my family to fully understand and unlock the capabilities of this mind-blowing device. But, already it exceeded my expectations, and is now commonly used in my family. I would highly recommend this device to anyone who is looking for a fantastic experience!!! Try this device out! I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

I was really skeptical that this product would provide streaming from internet sources to my plasma in the detail that I was accustomed, but I was pleasantly surprised. Great picture if you stream directly to the Chromecast instead having it mirror a secondary device. Allows you to use TV as a monitor with the chrome browser. I tried my regular browser, Firefox and it was a little difficult to get to googlecast from the software. Recommend using chrome with the Chromecast. Superb device, superb price.

Bought this product 1 1/2 years ago. It attracted my attention because its much cheaper than other android hdmi sticks. I liked it in the beginning. It's useful as a typical Google product, namely, you can stream YouTube Google music, Google movie, and Netflix on it. Basically it needs your phone to 'initiate' the streaming and then you phone is free. Half a year ago, Google released the new app which enables us to mirror the cellphone screen to TV. However, it's only useful to display pictures, and there's about one second lag if you stream videos. In conclusion, I like it. But I noticed that roku #I'm using roku xs# can also function as a chromecast. Therefore, I stopped using the chromecast.

I gave it as a gift to my Aunt who is "technologically challenged". She had no problem setting it up on her TV and wifi and linking it to her new tablet. She called to tell me how much she loves it!

I have bought a total of four Chromecasts now. They're very inexpensive and wonderful for what they are designed to do. For example, watching Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies, applications within Chrome, plus the new apps with support for Chromecast. Don't expect a $35 device to do too much, and you'll be very satisfied with the Chromecast too. It also takes up very little room by your TV.

If you're looking for a netflix/streaming device I would go with Roku. It's a bit more expensive but able to do much more than the chromecast. If you're looking to cast google chrome tabs to your tv, then I would go with this. Because functionality is a bit limited on this device, I think ~$20 is a fair price.

I now have 3 of these and use them all the time. They are great for streaming movies from my media server and my daughter uses one to watch YouTube videos on how to make her arts and crafts.

We have totally got use out of this. And inexpensive too. Kids have a fun time queing up content from You Tube, Netflix the only wish here would be prime videos. Easy to Use with IOS too.
