Its a great little device ( that is not to expensive) and works great with any TV and any phone. The only bad thing that i dislike is that just Hulu and Netflix are compatible but I know they are making it be compatible with other.

I don't know why apple people give 1 star. This thing works like it's supposed to. Yes you have to plug in unless you have mhl on tv. Have not used apple product with it but I'm glad it grabs it's own source from internet if you've hooked your phone to your tv you know what I mean. I write this review for the people who gave it one star and said you should buy apple tv

I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately I couldn't. When I bought it I thought it would be able to do more, like actually stream google chrome flawlessly. It did not. I got it to work at an acceptable quality. When I bought a smart TV shortly after I found the chromecast obsolete . I don't expect everyone to get a smart tv to make up for the short comings of the chromecast, so it is acceptable

Cast to tv sounded so cool. Cast fine from laptop but not from older phone running jelly bean. Upgraded to new Lg g3, known issues for months, no fix after hours of research. Google play music is good for one song and disconnects. Reconnect, one song disconnects. So on and on. This is not plug and play. Google forum directions are ludicrous, must have router within 10 ft. Must go in and change router settings. Something on the tv called cec has to be canceled. Thanks for nothing but head aches Google. Fix the bugs you have known about for months. Don't sell me bugs. I want stuff that works. Plug and Play.

Plugged this into a tv we didn't want to rent a box for...all of a sudden we're using thisTV a lot more! Note: we do have strong wireless Internet signal.

Is fairly easy to setup and use. Has limited functionality in terms of apps. More useful for TVs which are not Smart. At present Chrome itself has a limitation playing .mkv or other media files within the browser and so we may to wait for 3rd party apps to reach there.

If you have a non-smart TV, but don't feel like buying another, while this one still works just fine, this is a great little gizmo that will make your TV smart. Using your phone you can cast pretty much anything that you can pull up on the phone. You can even use your computer, however, to set up the device, your computer has to be on wi-fi, and then it will work over wired connection.

Excellent device for the price and works well with Netflix. However, if you are someone who likes to pause movies as you do other things, Roku is still more convenient with an actual remote. The Netflix app on iPhone takes a bit to start up and since the app closes off every time the iPhone screen locks, it's a bit inconvenient to pause.

This is my third time buying this product. Have two at my house and recently pruchased another one for my mom's house. Streams a perfect image and sound.

I was able to connect my laptop, tablet, and cellphone to my chromecast. It worked good with apps like Youtube (no boring advertisements) and the Chrome browser, but basically that's it. I don't like to use other apps like Hulu, Netflix, HBO because I am not a subscriber. I wanted to be able to mirror everything on my laptop or tablet to the TV. Maybe I should have gotten a Miracast gadget instead.

I like the device overall, simple to use, & good for streaming several different things. We will see what the future reveals. After all it is in beta! Freezes up at times hint hint... UPDATES? I hope so... (HBOgo supported, but not MaxGo what up with that Google)

Works great for streaming the services they support but it also screen mirrors with the Nexus 9, which doesn't support mira cast. Also very affordable.

It is easy to add on. I actually placed it in an open slot in my receiver...so I just need to select the HDMI port on there. Easy setup, image is great. I wish it would be able to cast a desktop or internet browser image from my Note Pro...but maybe someday.

I bought this a month or two after reading about it. Liked the concept. I wasn't able to watch any of my Google Play movies on my old computer so this product was perfect. Wanted to pick up a Smart TV to replace my monitor so got a two for one plus my Google play movies. Very happy with it so far and heard that new apps will be added as time progresses. So for $35 bucks its a steal.

The Chromecast is a great product. We use it in the Rec Room to watch streaming TV while exercising. Very useful to watch programs on OUR schedule.

It's great for screen mirroring from a phone or tablet. If you prefer a remote, Apple TV or Roku would be better.

Works great with Iphone, Samsung S4 and Ipad on Samsung LED TV. Cast apps are perfect while the casting a chrome tab is not a great experience.

I purchased a Chromecast to use it as mainly for Youtube videos. I like it a lot, it's easy to setup and works great. Too bad that there are not so many applications available. I use it for YouTube and RedBullTV. Too bad that the Netflix promotion is finished (3 months free Netflix service when you buy a Chromecast).

Lucky enough to get Chromecast deal and is awesome. With 3 months free Netflix subscription, it cost me virtually nothing. On top of that it is working like a charm. Plug n play. Enjoy the greatness of Google.

This is an amazing device for the price. You get all the features if you have an android phone and 50% of the features if you have an iPhone.
