Great little product allows one to watch movies on another TV, with out a extra cable box

I bought this Chromecast and it setup and worked fine for the first day, but then it started to not show up on any app i have downloaded for it on my phone. It even started to disconnect while i was watching something; it would show up on Netflix for example, i would start streaming and when the show was over it was gone and when i would go to watch the next episode it was completely disconnected and wouldn't reconnect at all. I am so irritated with trying to reconnect it that I think i'll just return it and get a roku or something else. Extremely disappointed and i'm not resetting my router everytime it decides to not work.

This will be the 3rd chromecast I have purchased, They are to install and setup and my wife and kids love streaming Pandora, Netflix and YouTube to all the tv's in the house. Makes a non-smart TV smart and very easy to use.

Works great with most apps and sites from an Android phone.

This is great for streaming netflix without as it does not need any wires when plugged in to the usb port. More application support would definitively get this product a higher rating.

Very happy with this product and mostly watch YouTube on it.

This is a really great piece of equipment. Does exactly what it says it will do. Works great at home and in locations where there is no user authentication from the router. But I bought this thing to go on the road and connect it to various hotel TVs. All is good unless you are at a hotel that you have to authenticate or agree to some screen before they let you access the Internet. Then all bets are of off and you end up putting your chromecast back into your bag. Unless you have a 4G device with unlimited data. Hopefully Google will figure out a way around this. But until then, I could only recommend this for someone who doesn't need to stream on the road.

It was on sale, and I wanted to try it. As far as I can tell, it will stream from my laptop, but not in a way I'm happy with. What I want is a single program that grabs various sources like Netflix and sends them through the device into the TV. What I seem to need is various links to content that Chrome can send. And perhaps an add-on universal remote control interface that would let my Harmony One change 'channels'. My laptop has an open USB port. It COULD be done. So, all in all, not bad but not good. Meh seems a valid description...

If you have an older TV with no streaming capabilities (Netflix, etc,) what-so-ever, this will probably work for you. Beyond that, I found Chromecast is severely lacking, and it just felt way too beta. I returned it after trying it for a few days. I think this product is honestly a few years away, and by the time they figure what it needs, it'll be obsolete. I personally wouldn't waste the money, unless you really need it to stream some kind of TV app you've subscribed to. Realistically, most TV's have built in apps now-a-days, or there's a game console in your house that would do the exact same thing as the Chromecast, only better.

If you are looking for something to watch Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, Showtime Anytime, Youtube, etc. and on the cheap, this is your thing. It's snappy and probably my favorite gadget in my home. Just incredibly convenient.

This TV is an excellent product for putting in bedrooms.

If you are looking for a way to stream youtube, netflix and hulu plus - and that's about it - this is perfect. hope that add more apps soon.

I thought that I would enjoy this more than I do but it lacks a lot of apps compared to Apple TV. Wish I had spent the extra bucks and got an Apple TV, but it was on sale for $29.99.

Great device for viewing youtube and netflix on the road. At this price, it was a no brainer to get one for both TVs. Should be even more valuable as Google opens up the SDK and developers add Casting ability to their apps. The only problem I have noticed is that a phone can not be used as a wifi hotspot and also cast content at the same time. If you encounter a rental without wifi while traveling, you can setup one phone to be the wifi hotspot and then use another phone to access the wifi along with the Chromecast dongle. It works really well as most 4g connections are faster than your average wifi connection. I did have to do a hard reset on the Chromecast when I returned home in order to properly setup the wifi to connect to my home router once again.

I bought this to use with Spotify. I didn't need Netfilx as I have a smart DVD Player. I was told at Best Buy that it would work with Spotify. That is not correct. Spotifly makes you install an Application in order to access the service. Therefore you cannot make this display using Chromecast since it must be displayed using the Chrome Browser. The good news about all this is that I discovered Google Play. It has all the features of Spotify, does not require an app., works on Chromcast and I hated Spotify anyway.

Thought apps like pandora and chrome were also supported, but found out they are not for iPad iOS . The YouTube and Netflix work great though! I think I would just buy Apple TV for the extra $60, much more utility

Chromecast works great for streaming Netflix from iPad to HD TV. Only drawback is limited range. If you router is upstairs and TV is downstairs around corner streaming can be hit or miss. If it's closer it works great.
