great device, works great for viewing netflix, hulu, and youtube. difficult initial setup, and also difficult to change settings if moving from network to network.

Works great and I love that it has HBO Go. Now that there are more competing products, I expect the price to drop.

I bought one and it worked great so I figured I buy another. Having two was a horrible tale of woe! It kept telling me when I tried to connect that I had no internet which is incorrect. After a few hours on cusomter service support I was told I needed to change my Linksys settings so I went to Linksys and my settings where fine. It just doesn't work and is very frustrating. I have an Apple TV that works like a charm. I returned the Google Chromes and bought another Apple TV.

I currently use mine to mirror my screen on LG G3. Works great. Slight delay but if watching something you will never know. It does buffer some when I am watching HD video. Its worth the price

I bought this for my son. He used it and told me that the connections dropped off intermittently. I returned it.

The only thing worked was with Youtube and Netflix app on cell phone, or youtube.com on windows pc or mac. Though it says chrome browser tab can be streamed, but it delays so bad. I hope Google will make another new version of this dongle, and I'll try again.

This chromecast is a very good product and never any problems and works great no other problems very durable

For it's time, this was amazing. I'm going to set it up again and see how it runs.

It works most of the time. My internet service might be the problem but I like this item might buy the new one soon. Fingers crossed.

It's not bad for the price. The thing i dislike about it, is that you have to have another device active for it to work ie you laptop or mobile device. There are no apps built into the Chromecast which can make it annoying at times when I dont want to pull up netflix on my iPad and then stream it to the Chromecast. But on the good side you can stream from your web browser and access things that don't have apps or is restricted to use over airplay.

I bought this for my dad for father's day. It is good but not great. It does some decent things for the price, but does not support ALL android devices for screen casting. My dad has a first generation Nexus 7. He is old so no need to upgrade to a new one when the old one will do fine. He is essentially getting dinged for being an early adapter to the android ecosystem. I will slowly switch him over to the Apple ecosystem eventually.

Google Chromecast is a great device! It plugs right into the TV, connect wirelessly, and since there are no moving parts there is nothing to go wrong! Works great with Netflix.

This thing doesn't work if you are more than 10 ft. away from your wifi router. I bought it to put on my tv in my bedroom. My grandson also bought one for his bedroom across the hall. They both worked ok with some disconnect issues for the first few weeks. The longer we used them, the worse the problems. The device itself gets VERY HOT! Not just warm like most electronics. I controlled mine with an HTC one phone. The chromecast device constantly gets confused. It will play 3-5 minutes of a show/movie and then buffer, getting stuck at 25% forever. It loses connection with the wifi every 15-20 minutes and requires a whole set-up procedure. I followed all of the troubleshooting instructions, but nothing worked. I called chromecast support, didn't help. I put the chromecast on the tv downstairs which is 6 feet away from the wifi router. It works fine there, but that doesn't help me to have streaming on my bedroom tv. I'm throwing it away and buying a Roku 3.

Love the Chromecast. Very easy to hook up, and very useful. Can download the chrome extension on your computer, making it easy to cast virtually anything!

I was so excited to get this. The setup is simple and easy to understand. However, the connection kept dropping. We could not watch anything. It would connect to our WiFi, then, would indicate that it was unable to connect to the internet. It's going back today. Off to Apple TV!

I had hoped that the device, after Google's update and after downloading the latest Play Store apk would stream local content better than my Sony Blu-Ray but it was much worse. Photos that displayed in about 2 sec on the Sony, using Alcast, took 4 to 16 sec on Chromecast. SD video played via Sony but sound only on the Chromecast. Of course Windows media player is better than either streaming HD video via the Sony.

Great product to use with my Android phone to put things on my tv

My 2 year old Roku 1 outperforms Chromecast. Nice idea though. Early adopters who don't seem to mind that the technology doesn't perform as advertised will likely still like it. Netflix plays ~okay~, but I already have that with Roku. You'd think with Android Jelly Bean I could get YouTube to work on Chromecast satisfactorily, but noooooo. Slow to load. Stalls. Drops the cast. If I want to pause or rewind.... turns out the entire cast process has been handed over to the router and my Androd phone as a remote has ZERO control. A pause button is nowhere to be found. In my search for a means to stop the cast, a new video loads & starts playing on the phone while the other cast continues on the TV. WTF? My only option was to unplug the power from the Chromecast stick to abort things. I'm thinking I should have paid the extra $100 for the Smart TV rather than the standard version with Chromecast on the side.

I bought this product for a gift and the recipient was so thankful and enjoyed it so much that made me feel so great of what I purchased for my friend!

I purchased this about 3 weeks ago and ended up returning it to the store for my money back. From the first day I bought it I had issues with getting the chromecast to connect with my wifi. It kept saying "no device found" when my wifi was working perfectly fine. VERY disappointed with product, wouldn't buy again. Luckily Best Buy was good with refunding me my payment with no issues.
