My daughter received as a graduation gift so that she could watch netflix. We tried to set up in her dorm and the network connection didn't allow it to work even though the wifi in the dorm worked great on the iphone. Called support and they said it doesn't work on college network systems. We were very disappointed.

They claim all these apps but the truth is the apps live on your phone, tablet, or computer. All this does is stream your computer screen to the tv. If you own an apple tv learn to love it for now. If all you are doing is streaming video from the laptop go for it. Otherwise FAIL GOOGLE. Thought I'd never say that.....

This product seemed great online but when I got it, I could not connect it to my internet on via my laptop but I could get it on my phone than I lost it and haven't gotten it back since than. Also, after I try to connect it to the internet and it fails, I had to restart my modem and my computer to reconnect it.

For anyone who wants to watch Amazon videos or a PBS broadcast streaming from your PC -- Chromecast will not work. I can already watch Hulu Plus and Netflix from my Wii -- why would I need another piece of hardware? And why would I want to stream YouTube to my TV? Frustrating. I'm returning this tomorrow.

Good for watching movies downloaded on my Macbook. Some wifi issues.

If you already have a smart TV, you can cast YouTube to it w/o Chromecast. Netflix and Hulu work, but Netflix remote control can get lose control with player on TV. Some value to cast single web page from Windows or MAC iOS, but not iPhone or Android mobile devices. Need more application / device support to live up to current marketing hype. Taking mine back to the store.

I have hard time installing this on Windows 10 even I followed the instructions in the box.

Nothing in the product information tells you that this does not work with all routers. Once you troubleshoot the lack of connectivity, you find out then that it does not work with many types of routers, or that you'll have to reconfigure your router -- which may not be possible to do.

I can not connect it to my at&t WIFI modem and there is no solution for it at Chromecast.com

There are no Apps in order for the Chromecast to work with Microsoft Surface RT tablets! What a joke! If you have a Surface RT tablet, do NOT buy Google Chromecast! It will NOT work. Google Chromecast or Microsoft must create an app in order for this to work.

OVERALL, THIS IS JUST SMALL ITEMS EASY TO GET LOST. I DO NOT LIKE IT AS MUCH!

I have always heard great reviews about Chromecast, so I figured I'd try it. It was a bit less expensive than buying a Roku, which was a plus, but turns out that was the only plus I was able to find... First of all, I had bought this for my daughter's room, and it won't even allow her phone to sync with it so she can even cast from it. It will cast from my phone, but even that is laggy, the video is choppy and freezes entirely quite often. I fail to see how anyone would give this such rave reviews as what I've read, because it's just absolutely terrible!

Connecting was a problem. The unit would not recognize my router from three feet away. I finally got it set up using my smart phone. Played one movie. When I went back the next day, the unit states: "no Chromecast on network." I'm returning the unit.

The box or the webpage doesn't tell you that the HD picture transfer from your computer only possible if the processor is an Intel Pentium i5 or higher. I have a less powerful processor and the picture turned out standard definition, wishy washy on the tv even though it is HD on my computer screen.

Too difficult for the average person like myself to get it to work.

The device requires a wired power supply or USB port. BestBuy says on my order confirmation my 3 month complementary Netflix subscription is "currently unavailable" but BestBuy will email me when it becomes available. HUH? I paid for the device and am using it, so where is the free Netflix?

The Google Chromecast is basically a device to wirelessly connect your computer to a TV. Just because you have an internet connection with your laptop does not mean that the Chromecast dongle will be able to access the internet connection in order for it to be setup. I finally found the fine print on Google's website indicating that if you do not have access to the internet router to make connection changes, the Chromecast probably will not work. We are on vacation in an RV and the Chromecast will not work on the RV public Wi-Fi although it will work with my AT&T cell phone internet connection. We have two Logitec Revue's at home and they hooked up with no router changes and come with a full size keyboard for under $100. More expensive but well worth it.

It worked great for about a month and then stopped connecting to the wifi all of the sudden. Not usable anymore so it is going in the trash unless Google can get their customer service in line and help me fix it. Not happy. Apple TV is way better and worth the extra money.
