Installation and configurations was simple. Google Assistant picked it right up motion capture and dog back activation works great. We set it to turn off when we are home (it used cell phone proximity). A couple of times it delayed turning off by a few minutes. Google home integration is getting tighter with it. Cloud storage is a bit pricey and it can really eat away at my Comcast bandwidth cap. But the cameras are great.

Purchased this to keep track of a home bound relative who lives 150 miles away and his care givers. Able to view and hear activity both from computer and the smart phone app. Will also notify you when motion is detected, excellent field of view. Can view activity for previous 24 hours.

These cameras are great. Bought a few of them to install in my dad's apartment for peace of mind, since he is suffering from some health issues. Super easy to set up with my existing Nest account. Easy to install on the walls. Wish the cable was a bit longer, but can always buy a different length if really needed. Cameras look pretty good in the automatic night vision mode too. While the Nest Aware service (ability to go back and view recordings) is great! The only downside is that it comes at an extra cost, which inflates the long-term price.

The camera is easy to set up and works great with my Nest thermostat. It only took 10 minutes from opening the box to fully functioning as I already had the Nest account with my thermostat. If you are new to nest you could add another 5 minutes for setting up your account. It found my network without a hitch and started sending me alerts right away. Only draw back is the requirement to buy the monitoring account starting at $10 per month in order to view activation history. Without this you can only see live action. Overall I like the camera and may purchase more of them.

Great camera that is easy to set up and get running in your hole. We use it primarily as a “nanny cam” and the best aware feature makes it easy to see what happened during the day. The only bummer is having to pay for it after the free trial. But for us having multiple cameras for the different area of our house works well.

The resolution and sound is great but the sound doesn't stay on when the app is open but your phone is locked. Nest tech support said they will request it and that was in October 2019. This is the only thing missing. You can still use the camera without the monthly subscription but it won't record past 24 hours and you cannot save the recordings without it. Notification picks up everything and you can turn it off. It has the option for face and package recognition but you have to pay for the subscription to get it. Night vision is very clear and it has the option for 180 flip on the app. Installation was extremely easy, power cord is really long, base is heavy if you don't want to install it on the wall but it does come with the wall installation.

This camera impressed me right out of the package!!! Extremely easy to set up...Alerts you when there is motion or noise, even gives you a recorded history with subscription. It gives a wide angle view, excellent quality video, with true to life color. Works great along with the app. I've never had a connection issue...Nest products are top notch!!!

Good quality camera, easy setup. The mount is nice. The 1080 video is very spotty with my internet connection. It's hard to tell if the problem is with my connection speed or the camera. I can stream full HD video/audio without issue so it seems strange that I can't set the camera to 1080 and have reliable performance. There's no local saving media, which is a downside. I'd recommend this for a nanny cam, but not full on security.

I loved my first camera so much that i purchased a second one. We use these cameras to monitor our toddler around the house. The second camera is a must because we have an upstairs, and then stops us from having to run upstairs every time he goes upstairs. The quality of the camera, and the night vision is amazing.

I use this as a baby monitor. It will get hot depending on the motion and recording settings. Don't like the subscription and cloud recording. Would like a local storage option. Also use the Arlo cameras which are good as well and can be used without a subscription. The voice control on this works well and the picture is very clear. Would like it to come with a longer cable or possibly make a model that is wireless.

My wife wanted this for our laundry room so she could see when her cat came in/out for food (I know). The picture is HD and the audio quality is very clear. The funny thing about the camera is that I mounted it above the door so nobody knows it's there. When our maid comes to clean the house, I don't think she knows we can see her lol. The app works well and is easy to use. You have to sign up for the cloud if you want to look back at any videos besides live. We didn't sign up because live footage is fine with us. Overall, this camera is great. You can mount it anywhere that has a power outlet and have great footage. Does live and is motion activated.

Good quality security cameras work in the dark and with light. Itdeally, it would be nice if they were entirely wireless as these cameras require a power source to plug into. That said, I believe the continuous plugged in power makes the cameras more robust and enables the clarity and day and night capability. I previously purchased an Arlo set which was cheaper and would give more free video footage history. But I had such a hard time getting them to connect to the base station to read my network, that I switched to the more expensive Nest Cameras. Arlos were not plugged into outlets like the Nests. But 2 hours into setting up, I gave up and bought the Nest cameras which took 5 minutes to set up each

This is my second nest camera purchase. Camera has a wide range of view and a good/clear picture. Setup is pretty easy (it took 10 -15 minutes to download app and set up the camera) . As this is not battery operated, the power cord is hard to hide, so may want to keep that in mind depending on where you intend to mount the camera

First of all, the camera runs a bit warm, at times hot. Other than that, the quality is nice, both build and video. I do have a Nest thermostat and it works well together. The sound/motion alert is almost instant when you're on the same network. Coming from a D-Link camera, this is a huge upgrade. Night vision is clear too.

We have these cameras in our home to keep an eye on things since we have medical caregivers coming to our home for our son. Good quality and ease of use in the Nest App. Night vision mode works out great if you are looking to keep an eye on little ones when they are asleep. I’m not a fan of having to pay subscriptions after I have already put a fair bit down on the product, but we do pay monthly to retain footage for a certain amount of time.

Although the resolution on the picture is good and setup is a snap. If compared to similar units, the price is higher than most and the buyer must subscribe at ten dollars per month, per camera to save the video for viewing. Overall, I'm pleased, although the ability to save video on site would be a huge plus.

I own eight DropCam/NestCams and have been using them for perhaps two years or so. Overall, I like these. They have great resolution, great night vision, continuous recording, some ability to zoom, activity zones, two way audio, etc. I don't like the iOS app. I liked the DropCam app much better than the new NestCam app. The old app had more functionality and a better user interface. I can't imagine why Nest dumbed it down and it exposes a proble with all of these cloud based products. The companies can change the product for the worse after you buy it based on previous functionality. You have no recourse. They can even shut it down and turn your purchased item into a worthless brick. But I digress... Though night vision is great, it is terrible through a window. Reflections make shooting through a window at night impossible with night vision enabled and there is no way to enable night vision without also enabling the infrared LEDs which cause the glare off the glass. Having independent control over the LEDs would vastly improve the utility of this product at night. This camera must be powered through USB and communicate wirelessly. There is no wired Ethernet version and therefore also no Power Over Ethernet option. Also there is no local storage option, so it is unusable unless you have Internet service. I started out as a strong advocate for DropCam, but I've cooled on it over the past year due to Nest taking it backward IMHO...and failing to truly advance the product features and model options. Unless they demonstrate some leadership soon, they are going to be left in the dust. That said. It is easy to set up, and reliable, though somewhat expensive in terms of recording plans. I'm also using Arlo cameras from Netgear and I'm more impressed with their innovation and variety of product offerings. I think Arlo is close to par with NestCam and offers a fully wireless version.

I bought several of these cameras & I am very happy with how they work. I use these to monitor my home when I am gone for several weeks at a time. They were fairly easy to set up. I did have a little trouble figuring out how to scan the bar code once I downloaded the app but eventually I got things working. I wanted to add one to my garage but it wouldn't work since it was too far from my WiFi so I will need to buy a WiFi extender. I have 3 on my main level & one in my basement. I also have a security system in my house but I haven't been satisfied with their cameras & cost. The Nest cameras cover entire rooms, have night vision & the resolution is great.
