||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're in the market for a Nest thermostat, you're more than likely shopping between the Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat. The huge selling point for the Learning thermostat is that it has a feature called 'Auto-Schedule'. This feature learns your daily temperature input settings and builds a recurring temp schedule off of that. A fundamental problem I have with this functionality is that your needs and outside temps change on a daily basis, while your Learning schedule remains static. I still find myself manually changing the thermostat temp everyday because of this. With that, in my opinion, I deem the price increase of $120 from its entry level model not worth it unless you want the premium finish and upgraded screen.

Posted .Hi there, MattyMcFry. Thanks for the feedback you shared about the Nest Learning Thermostat. It’s unfortunate to hear that your experience with the Auto-Schedule feature is less than ideal. You have an option to use it as a traditional programmable thermostat, and you can manually set the temperature and create your schedules for the thermostat to follow. You can turn off the Auto Schedule feature, disable the Home/Assist, and clear the existing schedules by selecting Settings > Reset > Schedule > Reset again. Great rebate from ComEd 100$, so it really costs only 99$ to get Nest...i think that is a great unbeatable deal...iphone app makes it easy to track your energy savings, and also controls the Nest remotly.

I like that I can lock it with a pin so kids so crank it up. But I dislike that when I have it off. The enegysaving mode turns it on to the settings it remember that I like. Something its warmer by front door due to being close to kitchen but the rest of house is cold so it randomly turns on.

Posted .Hi Samsung,
Thanks for sharing your review with us. We can see how your experience with the thermostat's Auto-Schedule feature was difficult for you. What you can do is to turn off Auto-Schedule then you can manually edit the existing schedule, or create an entirely new one. This way it will only follow the schedule you want and you can manually control when it turns off or turns on.
To turn off Auto-Schedule on your thermostat:
- Choose Settings
- and then Nest Sense
- and then Auto-Schedule
- and then Off.
If you need some assistance in turning off Auto-Schedule you can contact us on this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
