||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Nest. It is used in a second home and I can start up my system as I drive to the second home. Arriving, the home is cooled at the temperature I set. It saves me many dollars by only turning on the system when I will be there.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super easy to install. I even did it myself Love being to control the thermostat fromy phone while away from home. I've had it for several weeks now and it's very intuitive. Love the data reports to help me lower my usage too!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed my nest in my shop And when I leave it lowers the temp and when I return it warms it up again or I can do it remotely from my phone. I heat with fuel oil so this thermostat will pay for itself in a short period of time.

||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's stylish and looks good on the wall. It claims to be smart and can adjust the temperature in the room, however, I always feel the temperature to be lower than I wanted, although I adjust manually every day, it still sets the temperature low.

Posted .Hi Phoebe, thanks for sharing your insights. We're glad to hear that you liked the stylish look of your Nest Learning Thermostat. We understand your concern about the lower temperature reading, and the first thing we recommend is to start by checking the location of the thermostat, as it may impact the accurate temperature reading. Here are a couple of troubleshooting steps to help isolate the issue further, as well as identifying that the thermostat is not impacted by external factors:
- Restart the thermostat by pressing the display until it shows a black screen and wait until it's back up and running. A restart should be sufficient to re-calibrate them and show an accurate value.
- Check if the Sunblock feature is on or off. Open Nest App > Select the thermostat > Tap Settings > Look for Nest Sense > Turn off/on Sunblock
- Nest Thermostats in the U.S. and Canada are typically installed on a wall. Check for proximity of the thermostat to: air vents / electrical outlets / appliances / plumbing (hot water pipes) / warm air in the wall behind the thermostat. This may also affect the reading for the temperature.
- Some wireless access points cause the Nest Learning Thermostat’s wifi chip to overheat, which affects the thermostat’s detected ambient temperature. We suggest disconnecting the network for 24 hours, and monitoring the temperature.
Different brands of thermostats and thermometers have different ways of measuring and reading the ambient temperature. Normally, a temperature difference of 1-2°F can be negligible, but if it is greater than that, and should the steps we highlighted not identify the issue, then we may need to have a look at what may be causing it and work on improving your experience.
