Did not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked for about a week but wouldn't connect to app. Got the app working but then would only work in cool mode. Had tech come out, rewired...then would only work in heat mode. Eventually (after about 3 weeks), stopped turning the system on at all but just made fan run all day. Switched back to old thermostat and now everything works fine.

We called customer service for troubleshoot and they helped us try all possibilities to get it working. The guy was very helping when he told us to return it as it wont work

I could not get the thermostat to work so I attempted to contact customer service a multitude of times and never spoke to a rep. Maybe I'll try the Nest thermostat

Does nor work with Carrier

Do not get!!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Lyric T5 was easy to setup for me and I have not had any of the problems that other reviewers mention. I enjoy the lyric app, which I am also using for my Lyric C1 security camera (not sold by Best Buy). I am an android user and the app works perfectly on my galaxy. As far as the thermostat, it does it's job. I'm actually not sure why I purchased it because really, all it is, is a thermostat that you can control with your phone... nothing else. Nonetheless, it looks cool on the wall and it functions exactly as advertised. I did not have a "C" wire on my old thermostat. It was easy enough to run a new wire, because the unit will not function without. I do not use the geofencing feature because I find it pointless. But overall, I recommend the T5. Same product at about half the cost of Nest and some others.

Outstanding Thermostat

I had a 5th C Wire... however mine was disconnected from C Screw inside my unit. ****remember to turn off breaker & switch ****safety 1st**** All I did was extend said C wire to C Screw. Just as it ''twas in "Jurassic Park" when you flip the breaker & switch back on.... the Thermostat displays: "Start Setup." :D Eureka. Then follow the very easy instructions on Honeywell's Lyric app. Before you know it you'll have Siri changing your temperature! My favorite thing is the geo part. Basically... when you leave a radius of your house tracked via phone app. It automatically goes to away settings. When you arrive to said radius the home settings begin & when you arrive home your house is already cooled down with the AC off because it was doing its job while you were driving home. Stellar product! I would recommend. Most definitely to any tech enthusiast out there. Better price tag compared to competitor too. A+! I am hoping to get the Smart Doorbell soon from them too.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This device is outstanding at everything it does, it has all the bells and whistles of the more expensive smart thermostats at a fraction of the cost, the GeoFence feature works very nice, and so do other features such as schedules and controls. The touch screen is sensitive and does the job well, the interface is extremely easy to navigate for anyone even my elderly parents, they love it, there's also a feature that allows you to lock the screen so that only the temperature controls can be adjusted every other advanced feature is locked with a PIN, this makes it easy to avoid accidental configuration changes or children messing around with your settings, you can either do a partial lock or simply lock everything so that the thermostat can only be changed using the phone app. Remote access is easy and works as expected as well, I was not expecting much from this device but I'm really impressed so far. The only con I had was the initial setup, the app would not finish making the connection to the thermostat, this was only until I turned off Cellular data on my Android phone and connected to the Thermostat network, then everything was straight forward and simple.

Affordable Wifi Thermostat

The installation is VERY easy and pretty straight forward if you follow the directions. I did run into a snafu because I thought my carrier unit was a conventional forced air unit, and it turns out it's actually a heat pump (this was all foreign to me before I started); A quick call to the Honeywell Lyric technical support had me all set within a matter of minutes! Overall, the unit is nice, the installation is pretty straight forward, and the customer service Honeywell provided is top notch! I have already recommended this unit to my friends and family!

C wire is necessary

For homes w/o the c-wire, I would recommend a different unit that includes a power extender kit OR make sure you have the knowledge to do the re-wiring needed.

Thermostat itself works, features do not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't complain a whole lot about the thermostat itself, except for one wiring weirdness that I personally would consider a flaw compared with every single other thermostat I've ever installed. Where I can complain is with the features that led me to purchasing this thermostat (primarily geofencing) fail to work reliably at all. So first off, the flaw. I have a single stage heat pump system. When wiring this W and W2 are for "heat". Every single thermostat I've ever installed W ( or W1 on some ) would be single or first stage, and W2 would be second stage. This thermostat for some odd reason powers W1 always with a heat pump system. So, if you wire it as you would a normal thermostat, you will get a mix of cold and hot resulting in hot air winning when the AC is on because it powers the W wire as well. You have to install your single stage heat wire to the W2 spot with no jumper. Other than that, it works perfectly fine, properly activating for heat or cool. As for the features, the primary feature that this thermostat has over others is geofencing. Unfortunately, it fails to work the majority of the time due to the poor Lyric app. It doesn't check your location anywhere near often enough, so it can be an hour after you leave your geofence area before it tries to contact the thermostat and tell it to go into away mode. Then 3 times out of 4, it fails to even be able to contact the thermostat for unknown reasons. The thermostat is connected to wifi and online at the times when I check my network remotely. I think the problem is on their cloud server side honestly. To top things off, setting up the thermostat with the Lyric app can be very frustrating if you aren't lucky. The app does not handle behaviors of different phones or android versions very welll. I had to go through 4 android devices to find one that would make it through the entire set up process. With the other 3 having problems at various stages of the process. They really need a more robust set up handling, or simply allow a PC based setup instead of only allowing setup through the Lyric app.
