The Scooter is a lot of fun and can maintain maximum speed, even with my weight of 230. I love the headlight, taillight, and break light features. Definitely a plus when it comes to safety. Bluetooth speaker is tinny but a nice feature to have. My only complaint would be the parts that shake loose. I found myself having to retighten the screws holding the handle bars in place a few times. Nothing a little Threadlocker couldn’t fix.

I had this scooter for almost a year now and in terms of going up hills you definitely are going to end up walking up the hill or the scooter won’t go past 5 mph. I use this scooter for work and by using the second mode which allows you to go up to 18mph drains the battery so much. Already going 3 miles with this scooter by the time I get home I have 2 battery left on it which goes by quickly. Not even a month after having this scooter I had a problem with the brakes and the scooter making a weird sound and returned it and got a new one but had the same problem with the new one. Definitely only recommend if you’re going to use it to go to short trips not long distance. If you use the whole battery it takes around 4-6 hours for it to finish charging.

VERY impressed with this scooter! It's a cadillac scooter as far as the tough, durable, well-made quality and has the luxury of having a Bluetooth speaker to play your music, plus a headlight for nighttime rides. It's fast and folds nice for storage. You can ride 12 miles before having to charge it again! I'm very happy I bought it, and so is my family!

After having this scooter for about a month the first thing that comes to mind is “Wow!”. I originally bought this item as a form of pleasure to bring with on road trips or just to play with in the neighborhood but I’ve actually used it to commute to work about two days a week (weather permitting). The battery is larger than any scooter I’ve seen in the past which gives it a better range in terms of distance covered and the build quality seems rugged enough to give some durability. If you’re familiar with the Lime/Bird scooters this seems to be similar to those models except boosted in every single way. Main features I’ve noticed so far are: -Larger air-inflated wheels - makes for a much comfier and quieter ride. No more feeling like you’re riding on plastic discs with every jolt and shudder immediately felt by your wrists! -Faster, more-efficient charging - I’m able to plug this scooter in when I get home from work and it’s fully charged and ready to go 12 hours later. -Flashier accessories - the lights that come standard on this scooter really shine like a beacon and throws a lot of light directly where you need it. The cruise control is great as well for the longer, flatter sections of your ride. And finally the built-in Bluetooth speaker is great, sure not everyone likes Odesza but by the time they hear your music you’re already gone! -Larger platform - just pulling this scooter out of the packaging you could tell it had a more robust design. Moving at speed feels more stable than the other smaller scooters I’ve tried in the past. This is a confidence-inspiring scooter that is very friendly and easy to use.

Great scooter! Rides well. Only issue is battery life. Driving top speed is 18mph. Up hill issues is on speed is 10 to 9 mph. Driving for 1 hour or less is half the battery life. 5 to 6 hours to fully charge. I definitely recommend. Definitely fun to ride around. Also very heavy to lift.

We purchased this for our sons birthday and he absolutely loves it. The way that it rides, it rides smooth. Easy to use and love the Bluetooth feature and the cruise control. Of course not suitable for children younger than 12. It does take a little strength to hold up and maneuver. Love it!!

My kiddo loves the scooter! The lights on the scooter work great and can be seen from quite a ways away! Bluetooth is super cool too. We just figured out cruise control and it’s handy too. The only thing I don’t love is that the brakes are a little squeaky.

Even though there are some aspects to this scooter that come across as just a toy, it's a legit city commuter. Although it's much heavier than many of the current alternatives, the power and width that this has earns the 5 star rating. It's very stable for the average user. The brakes aren't quite as strong as you want them to be, working with a bicycle disc brake, so you need to think a bit forward in regards to where you need to start braking and decelerating. It would be almost perfect if it had some re-gen braking that would help with this. I have 2 e-bikes that have much more power, but I can forsee this getting a lot of use as well. Folds down, at the hinge as shown, this will let you transport it in almost any trunk or SUV's rear.

I good entry-level scooter for a casual user. I got myself a high-end scooter, and my wife and kid wanted to join me and I got them some low cost ones. There was not a lot of them available, so I decided to try this one for my wife, and she loved it. The family liked it so much, that a few days later a was helping my brother in law to find one for himself at Best Buy. Overall a good scooter. The only to cons are the locking mechanism (Very hard to open in my wife's and almost impossible in my brother in law's, I think his is kind of defective) and the bluetooth speaker, as it sound awful. I wish they had used the speaker space for more battery capacity. But in general a good buy for the price.

No problems what so ever with it so far. it's the only 400 watt under 400 bucks. Built stout; only four screws to get it rolling down the road. A lot of the bad reviews were people not noticing that screws were loose and it fell apart. I checked all mine(with included alan wrench) and they were all good. Bad reviews on the brake too I noticed, but mine didn't need any adjustment out of the box and stops well at high speeds. Keep in mind it's one brake and anyone that has used dual bike brakes knows how much better two are. My three mile trip to work takes 15 minutes. I have it pegged out the whole time. Legally it only shows 18 on the display, but the gps on my phone says it's in the 20's a lot of the time on flat ground. A steep grade along the way drops it down to around 14mph which isn't bad; I'm 5'9 180. The step up is kind of tall for me(the kick off requires a little extra effort) but the 10 inch tires are worth it for a long and comfy ride. Flat tires look like a major issue for a lot of people so I ordered some slime for some preventative maintenance.

This scooter was ALMOST everything I hoped it would be. The style is nice, the weight represents quality, the ride is super smooth, and the speed is on point. No issues with battery either. The only "cheap" feature is the speaker (Bluetooth). Music sounds horrible and constantly loses connection. "Maybe its the phone" you may suggest . No, the phone is a brand new iPhone 13. There shouldn't be an issue . I have yet to fold it up and take it anywhere with my son, so that I can't give any feedback on. I DO RECOMMEND THIS ITEM! OH! ... AND SUPER NICE TOUCH WITH THE BLUE LIGHTING AND HEADLIGHT!

So I bought this recently I'm 36 years old I weigh about 290 pounds and I've had this thing for a little over a month and a half now and I have no problems whatsoever with it I did pop a tire but that was okay I bought another tube and it was easy to change but other than that I have no complaints this thing moves fast even with my fat a--- on it I still get up to 16 miles an hour highly recommended and it's very comfortable also compared to all the ones that you can run on the street or the ones that have solid tires this thing is very smooth compared to the other ones on the road that shake all your bones in your body LOL

A Great Device - I Would Buy It Again...

    Posted .

I LOVE THIS THING...unfortunately, it bit the dust on my fifth ride...the device that locks the stem upright position, the thing that is supposed to support at least some of your weight - it literally seemed to tear off. The metal just looks like it ripped apart. I'm not an engineer, but it seems like that's a point of pretty severe stress and you'd want it to be very robust. Because the whole scooter is pretty robust. It feels solid and rides great, it's an AWESOME device - but that seems like it could use some rethinking. I wasn't hurt, but the scooter went flying into traffic...I'm sure someone got some GREAT footage of the scooter sailing through the air, hitting the ground, battery got smashed off and I was sitting on the ground - just stunned as it bounced into the intersection without me. I live in Houston, the roads are terrible, I may have hit something, just as I got to the bottom of a small sidewalk ramp and I think I must've gotten my weight a bit too far back on the platform. Pieces went flying....but guess what. The GREAT part of the design is that the battery and the case it's in were intact and I just snapped it back into place, leaned forward on the stem to ensure that it stayed upright and used my weight to lock it instead of the little bolt they used. I was more than a mile from my house...the disk brake was bent, but the scooter functioned just fine. I didn't get the protection, but I suspect I can buy this head assembly or weld a repair together that fortifies it a bit so it's more substantial. Overall I really like this scooter...I'm 56, had never ridden one before, and I LOVE IT!!! It's like when I got a bike as a young kid. It is so much fun. I think this is probably great device if you don't get your weight back too far and also I'm 6'2" 205 so I'm probably near the top end of what it's built for. If you try to make it light, portable AND robust - one of these things will be compromised to achieve the other...all in all, this is a great way to get around. I just wish the locking collar or whatever its called was a little more rugged. I rated it five stars because it's THAT much fun. Be careful, don't lean back, and to the engineers of this awesome device - nice work overall, please revisit the collar locking thing. One little bolt into one very small piece of metal isn't enough...American's aren't getting any thinner, gentleman.

I love my new scooter! I can't wait to zip all over town this summer! It says that it goes up to 12 miles but I found I can go about 7 miles on a full charge (I'm 185 pounds). The speakers aren't amazing quality but I have no complaints. The biggest con for me is that it's pretty heavy. I definitely wouldn't want to lug this thing around as part of my commute. But to have it as a toy I couldn't be more thrilled!

I loved that it was a little quicker than other scooters in the price range. It was fun at night as well, but I never got the miles between charges that it suggests. I would be at one bar after a couple miles of riding. I never ran it out to see how much it actually got but my rides were very short between charges. I returned it and may get the Bird. It isn’t as quick, but they advertise 28 plus miles between charges. If it gets anywhere near that I’ll be happy.

This scooter will zip you around in speed and style. There's two settings, one that tops out around 12 and one that takes you to 17. The lights work great at night, and the blue-lit x gives it a cool factor. The bluetooth radio is neat, though I don't use that feature much. The never-flat rubber tires are great. The handle bar could be a little better. It is sometimes difficult to set back into place when moving it around. It also makes popping noises occasionally.

I bought the Alpha in March for one of my sons after buying the Hover Journey for my daughter in December. So far the Alpha has worked very well. I sometimes ride it in our neighborhood. I weigh about 250lds and on level surfaces it will still take me up to top speed. We have some steep hills that I need to push a bit to assist getting up, but for my size I dont view it as a problem. For my 130 ld son, it zips him everywhere wuth no need for an assist. The Journey has a 350 watt motor, while the Alpha has a 450 watt motor. If you weigh over 200lds, you definately want the Alpha- it is worth the extra money. The Journey has developed an E2 error code, which right now keeos ut from working, but I submitted a trouble ticket and got a response two days later. They gave me a video that showed a way to fix what is usually the most common cause for the error, but I had some electrical wires that appaer to have been cut by the handlebar shifting to the left. I cant really say the Journey is inferior, because when my daughter got it some of her older cousins got on it and were pretty rough on it- jumping it off a bike ramp, which its not made for. I personnally think the Journey got abused and I cant fault Hover for that. Hopefully I can get the Journey fixed. If not, I'll probably reolace it with the Alpha.

I like the color and the blue light it display when its dark outside, I receive a lot of complements. This is my first one. After trying it out and comparing it with the Ninebot segway, the standing board is ok, not as sturdy as the max g90p but a bit wider. It has gone to a speed of 21mph. When you first buy this item, check you tire pressure. Also when it gets to the 2nd energy bar, the speed begins to lessen. Lastly, big note, not water resistant so use with caution.
