Delivery person set the box inside my garage as requested via my SimpleSafe doorbell.. however when I bought the box inside and set it on the table to open and remove the printer I saw that the box had been dropped and the corner was torn and damaged. Haven't installed it yet so don't know if it had been damaged as well.. hard to believe that it was sent from the store like that??

This is the worst printer I have ever owned.
I’ve had HP, Epson, Brother, Canon, and Apple back in the day.
Been an HP fan for years (my last five printers have been HP) but no more.
I purchased this printer 9 months ago and it has been nothing but problems.
I constantly have to unplug it to reset it because it locks up.
I constantly have to go press the power button because it will not wake up on its own when someone prints to it.
About 25% of the time the print fails mid print and I have to reprint.
I get a very constant flashing error. HP support says to “unplug, wait 60 seconds, plug back into the wall- not a power strip, and try again”.
That resets the printer once. Then it happens again sometime the next day.
Impossible to get an actual person on the phone from HP, and problematic getting support online.
Printer is going in the trash today and it will be the last HP product I ever allow in my home.

Unreliable and ugly prints, VERY disappointed HP

This has been the WORST HP printer we have ever owned. It replaced an HP with similar features that was used regularly for 6 years.
Color prints and copies: All of the colored copies are nowhere correct. Blue is not turquoise, yellow isn't peach. Copies are nowhere close to originals. The color is uneven and faded away in areas. We have reset and tested all the inks and settings. It has kept us from doing and displaying projects because the colored prints are just wrong.
B/W documents: It prints documents with blank streaks across the pages and gray shadows down the sides.
The ink is faded or splotchy in different areas. The gray shadows are there even when I use the feeder. Streaks are on all the colored prints too. If the printouts are useable, they are ugly.
Photos: It prints photos with terrible hues of orange and yellow. We could not get this straightened out.
I have yet to print anything I could share or handout.
I googled, used the advice online from HP, adjusted print settings, and cleaned/replaced cartridges hoping it would improve (numerous times). I have spent hours on numerous days trying to get this printer to just print out a nice clean document. It never has.
It's going in the trash and I regret not returning it within the year. If not for a small featureless printer in another room that saved the day I would have replaced it sooner.
The photos are from this weeks last attempt at using this printer. Do better HP.

This printer info on the information sheet and according to the sales man was a quick printer and beautiful color and it does neither. It takes forever to print one page a good 40 sec to over a minute, and uses. Ink fast and printout is dull looking. By time we tried adjusting the settings with 0 change also the initial ink was wiped out with a 15 page college assignment, the return policy time was over.
We have bought a lot of items from Best Buy and had no problems but the salesman got us on this one, very disappointing ted

My impression of inkjet printers are that they are sloppy and slow. Not to be used for anything that really matters. Printing out a report for school? Sure. Photos or a resume? Never. I've been a loyal laserjet user for ten years. No more. The HP ENVY Photo 7855 has completely changed my mind. Not only was it super fast, but it was very detailed.
First, right out of the box, this printer was more slim form than my current all-in-one which is quite bulky. The HP ENVY Photo 7855 is quite sleek and the build quality is quite impressive. I've found most printers to be pretty cheaply constructed but everything about this printer seems to be solid and of high quality.
On to setup...My experience was less than satisfactory. I found it clunky whether trying to complete from the app or manually. Granted, I didn't follow the quick start steps, but I'm technically capable of setting up a printer without following a guide. I think this did contribute to some of the hangups, but missing one step shouldn't require unplugging the printer and starting over. All of that said, I did get it working after a short bit. Hopefully your experience (following the directions) will go more smoothly than mine.
For functionality and features, I couldn't be more pleased. My previous all-in-one was wireless/networkable, but didn't have any phone/app connectivity. The scanning function could also be pretty tricky requiring a separate program installed from a CD. The HP ENVY Photo 7855 scans and prints easily with the touch of a finger directly from your phone or from the touch screen display on the printer itself. Copies and faxes can be easily accomplished directly from the printer. This can definitely save some stress when trying to get a document scanned and sent on a deadline. Most of your settings can be configured via the free app which also gives you ink levels so you know when it purchase replacements. All of the functions seem to operate much more quietly than my previous laserjet all-in-one.
Finally, print quality is excellent. I printed a full page photo and the detail was as good if not than better my professional grade office color laserjet. IIt's more than adequate for anything that you'd be printing on regular copy paper (reports, charts, pictures, graphics, etc.) After purchasing some HP 4x6 photo paper, I decided to print a couple of pictures from a recent trip. The pictures could've been printed in a professional photo shop as far as I'm concerned! I've attached some pictures of the final product but I can tell you that I'm completely blown away and impressed. The two 4x6 photos were printed using the best quality setting while the full page was printed using the normal setting.
In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend this all-in-one for anyone who wants a flexible and functional printer at home OR for your office. Inkjets aren't the most economically smart choice if you print a lot, but might be perfect for your home use or want to use this to print photos. I can't say how far the color ink will go. After printing just two 4x6 photos at the best quality and a full page photo at normal quality, the app is saying color ink is down to 80%. So, not sure exactly how long the cartridges will last. Also, these starter cartridges can sometimes have less capacity than the full replacements. Anyway, just something to consider. I imagine most of your printing will be black/white and require a lot less ink than full-page photos or ink heavy 4x6 photos. I'd highly recommend this printer to anyone at home or even for an office as long as you aren't printing a ton. Then you might want to consider a laserjet for economical reasons. Just keep in mind that laser toner isn't cheap--especially color toner!
Pros:
-Print quality (color and black)
-Photo prints are amazing
-Price
-Build quality
-Speed
-Functionality (great app)
Cons:
-Ink use
-Setup (follow the guide, don't go rogue like me)

Good printer. Due to COVID and a shortage of available inventory, we purchased this HP ENVY! After 9 months of limited use, the printer began printing poor quality prints. We ran the alignment and print head functions; no joy. We replaced the paper and ink cartridges only to have a cartridge problem message. After working with HP, the troubleshooting help was unsuccessful. I’ll return this to best buy today.

Where to start....
Trying to connect this to my wifi was an absolute pain. Now I'm connected and trying to print something....connection problems again! I was able to print a photo from my phone (Galaxy S9+). Photos are full of grain/lines. This should NOT be designated as a photo printer.

I bought this printer mainly for its supposed "great photo printing." Well what a lie that was. The photos come out dark and blocky, I feel like it's just wasting ink. The details are terrible, even after making sure the print quality was on high and I was using photo paper. The only time the quality came out "ok" was when I printed on plain paper, which is not the point of a photo printer.... I tried multiple times of photo paper, including the sample that came with the printer. I'm not a photographer but I do a lot of albums and and a lot of photos in my home. I wouldn't have bought this if I knew this was the case. I had a printer that printed ok quality pictures and documents just fine. I'm tempted to go back to using that one. Disappointing to say the least.

Hi, Sara.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has not performed like it should regarding print quality. I can understand why that would be a great disappointment, especially considering you bought it especially for making photo albums. With that in mind, I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.
First, I recommend that if you haven’t done so already you follow the steps in this guide to improving print quality, including streaks, smears, faded colors, fuzzy text, and when black or color ink does not print properly: - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05551181
If the problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number - Serial number - Your location - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Well, there is no paper jam or any obstructions.
No wonder the price was half off.

Disposable Printer?!

Bought this printer in April 2020, now in October 2021, it started giving me an error message “Cartridge Problem” about a month ago, followed all the instructions on remove and reinstall cartridge, clean the metal contacts on the cartridge side and the printer side, and pulled power cord and restart, nothing worked.
There is a ticket open with with HP official printer support, someone else is having the exact same issue, and was told “it’s time to upgrade the printer”
So HP home printers are disposable now?

Since there are a million "all-in-one" printers on the market, it's hard to find something that rises above the competition - but this printer is pretty incredible. It has a tiny footprint (and all the paper loads from the front!!!), it prints paper documents quickly, and photo printing is borderless and extremely crisp. Setup on my smartphone was a breeze.
This printer utilizes only two cartridges - one black and one tri-color. I don't know how cost-effective that will be in the long run, but buying individual colors hasn't worked out well for me in the past.
I included a picture of me holding a printed picture of my dog - you can see that the printing is truly borderless and really clear - the image looks more like my dog is there than it looks like a picture of my dog.

After 9 months of very little use, this printer can't print black and white anymore. No amount of "cartridge cleaning" and "cartridge alignment" will do. Never again, HP. Never again.

Hi there.
I am so sorry to hear that your printer is no longer printing with black ink. This must be quite frustrating, especially considering you’ve done your own troubleshooting and some maintenance. Given that, I’ll try to give you some helpful suggestions.

Hi there,
I'm terribly sorry that the printer posed these issues with color control from your very first use. This is so disappointing! I want to assure you that, despite this experience, it's always our intention to provide reliability with our printers. With that said, I regret that we fell short this time.

Very disappointed with this printer. I purchased this printer in February 2022, after only 5 months of usage it will not power on. It’ll power on with an error message, then nothing.
HPSupport is joke. I followed their instructions, didn’t resolve the problem. I have been waiting since Saturday, October 8, no response. I have been trying since August trying to get a resolution. It is still warranty.

As most of all consumers know that HP is the leader of home office printers. These is none the less a homerun printer that will go well with today's technology. Bluetooth, WiFi, Fax, USB small form factor and set-up doesn't take more than 5 mins to get this printer up an running. With or without computer. You can set up using a smartphone (Andriod or Apple) App available. You can even print from your phone!! This comes in handy if you're sent a doc file for a coupon or return label from Amazon. Don't pass up on this printer!! It stows away your paper inside the unit, you can use an SD card in the front of even hook up a flash drive using the touchscreen on the front, you'll be able to select the pictures or documents you need to print without turning on your computer.
