The set-up was challenging (I went wireless but did not use the app) as there were glitches with the online download and wireless router recognition. I found the online "help" from HP to be UNhelpful - the tutorials just sent me in circles without resolution, and the online chat was unavailable. Instead they told me to leave a call back # & I would be called within 15 min. I did this on 2 occasions (2 days in a row) and I am STILL waiting to be called back. Nevertheless I persevered and finally completed the set up. I have only been up & running for one week, but I have already printed almost 400 pages wirelessly from my computer. On the second day of use, the printer showed the wireless disconnected, but it was any easy fix. The black ink cartridge that came with the printer was good for exactly 200 pgs., so I'm already on my 2nd (this time XL sized) cartridge. The XL is supposed to do 600 pgs. and costs only about 2x the price of the regular size, so if it performs as advertised that will definitely be the way to go. I have not used the multiple pg. scan feeder or fax function yet, nor done any photo prints, so I can't comment on those. Overall, I'm satisfied with this unit. It is fairly compact and feels quite sturdy. I was surprised when it automatically extended the page support shelf the first time I printed! I don't mind that feature, but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the specs or info and I can see where there might be times that you would rather not have the support shelf sticking out (I have not seen it automatically retract - but I have done this manually). I did buy the extended warranty (4 yr) as my previous (higher priced) HP printer irretrievably died about 6 months after it's mfg. warranty expired.

    Amazing Printer

Despite all the bad reviews that made me afraid to buy any printer. I took a leap off the cliff and bought the HP Envy Photo that the Best Buy salesman recommended as the only real choice for what I wanted. I got it hooked up to work wirelessly with my Samsung Galaxy S7 and my wife's iPhone 6. It's the best! I print from my phone in the living room to the home office. The photos that it prints from our phones are amazing, as good as what the photo store produces. We scan items from the printer to our desktop computer using Adobe Acrobat or Photo Shop. Or the native program can be used on the printer sending it to the desk top computer. The automatic feeder on the printer will automatically scan all pages into one file. Contrary to what some boo birds say on their one star reviews online. In addition the copier and printer produce two sided pages seamlessly. The printer prints fast barely a pause between pages. It's an animal. I experienced none of the lapse time for the printer to spring into action when it is sleeping. This printer does everything I expected and more. I had a 9 year old Canon multifunction printer that performed admirably but I will not miss continuing to replace the six ink cartridges. I continue to be shocked by all the negative "do not buy" reviews I see on every review site for all popular brands of printers. There must be people out their copying and pasting bad reviews on random printers they know nothing about. To add to the misinformation any site that has over 800 reviews with an average 3 star rating puts the very worst ratings at the beginning. After reading 5 to 7 terrible reviews on the most popular brands you just don't know what to do. I give a 5 star rating with enthusiasm for the HP Envy 7855. And Best Buy sold me an extended warranty for only $15. I've used the Geek Squad several times with success. Very impressive young people with great knowledge and courtesy. Now I know why Best Buy is the last electronics store of quality standing in North Orange county, CA. Their prices are comparable to Amazon as well. Hope they hang in there.

I've owned HP printers since forever, and this looks like a good one. But I've only had it a few weeks, so jury's out on long term performance. The setup was easier than I thought, especially after reading some of the comments with bad experiences. The print quality is good, ease of use is good. No paper jams so far. Haven't used the scan or copy function yet. So final star rating would depend on how it holds up over the next few weeks/ months. Customer service and support documentation, as always, could be better.

Our old printer was very loud while booting up and slow processing information and printing took a lot longer then any other unit I've ever owned. Our new unit sets up faster and responds faster and more quietly than any other unit I've ever known. The print quality is higher then the unit I replaced

Great replacement for my HP Pro 6700

Just bought a HP ENVY 7855 photo printer to replace my HP 6700 pro which finally stopped printing. I had been babying it for the last year or so. Anyway the new printer works great. I was able to hook it up wirelessly not only to my desktop computer, but my wife's desktop and my laptop. I also will set up my phone as well in a day or two. It has a double photo drawer, one for regular paper and another for photo paper. There is an option for USB and ethernet connections if desired, as well as a USB port on the front for direct connection from whatever device you might need. I found it easier and more effective to go to Hp support and enter the printer model and download the software from there rather than the 123.hp.com app which the instructions recommends. You get a complete install with a number of adds on by going to the support website. All in all it is a great printer with lots of options for home use. I was able to buy it at Best Buy at a good discount, which is why I splurged for this model. I no longer need a professional model as I am retired and don't have to work from home or do monthly notices for my lodge as in the past. I still keep meticulous personnel, rental property and investment records, using Quicken and other software and rely on the scanning and printing functions heavily to keep everything up to snuff. I highly recommend this printer to anyone who needs a printer with more options than the basic home models but does't want or need to pay the extra for a professional model. The print quality for both documents and photos is superb, far better even than my old professional 6700.

Pages do not come out wet... but in less than 250 pages (215 b + w, 34 color regular not photo), it used up the 2 ink cartridges it came with and is already drinking another two. The scanner makes an unholy noise akin to a screaming squirrel when pulling paper from the top and shows a few lines down each page which can only be fixed by performing individual copy scans instead. It is of decent size, easy to use and does print quickly so I can't be all mad at it.

I was replacing my Epson printer - one that I had loved but the print heads kept clogging. I was hesitant to go to another brand but this particular printer was recommended to me. I just started back to grad school and needed a printer so decided to get it. I do not regret it. This is fantastic - easy to set up, easy to print. It prints double-sided. I can scan documents in. There is an app for my phone so I can print pictures directly from my phone. This really is the best printer I've ever had - I'm so happy with my purchase!

This printer was easy to set up, and its connectivity to the wireless network and iPhones has been seamless. I like that it’s optional for HPs Instant Ink program (not required). My only objection is to how loud it sounds when it prints! It makes a grinding/humming sound about twice as loud as my last HP printer. I’d think it was mis-functioning, but the print quality is excellent.

I have always preferred HP products. Setting up and connecting is quick and easy. The size is easy to handle. The photo tray makes printing photos easy. Scanning option - which is a must have today - is great. Only process I struggle with is getting the color set on scanned photos. Red is too dominant & finished printed photo coloring does not match original photo.

Replaced my HP 8500 with this one (price of replacement ink and ink heads influenced my decision) The printer was fairly easy to connect into my outdated system. Had some problems with communication between new software of the printer with my patched version of windows 10. The conncetion worked great with my smartphone. But when I tried to print from my computer it showed the printer was off line, when it was not. Print quality was great, photo print good

Love the self feeding copier the 5 x 7 photo quality and great price. Also the HP monthly Inc. deal is a great idea if you do a lot of color printing- I love not having to deal with all the separate cartridges.

I am very pleased with the quality and price of this HP All-In-One printer. The printer was very easy to set up. I just connected it to my HP laptop that is running Windows 10 and the software did the configuration. I like print speed and the option to print on both sides as well as the large capacity paper tray and the multiple page document feeder.

I needed a new printer because something was lodged in my old one causing it to give out. After reading tons of reviews and looking at pricing, I went with the ENVY 7855. Wireless was important to avoid extra wires and easy connection from work and personal lap tops. The printer was a very simple setup to WiFi and the app. Adding ink was simple and the quality is just like printing at work. I am very happy with my purchase.
