Many also appreciate the wireless functionality and the reasonable price point for the features offered. While some find the printer's size to be a minor drawback, the positive feedback on its reliability and overall functionality outweighs this concern.

I like my new HP printer. It was very easy for a non techie to set up and it works like a dream. I enrolled in the ink program and I never run out of ink! How cool is THAT?!

My HP printer is by far the best printer I have ever owned! It is very easy to operate. It walks you through scanning and saving to computer and provides excellent copies.

This all-in-one copier-printer-scanner-fax is easy to use, with a clear screen that directs the user and is easy to use. The only drawback is that is is larger (taller and larger front-to-back) than most similar products. It might not fit in a tight work space. I haven't used the fax function yet, but am impressed with the quality of the copying and printing. Setting it up via the HP web site was easy.

    COMES WITH SET-UP INK

I rarely buy products I haven't researched beforehand, and this printer was no exception. I read blog reviews, Amazon reviews, HP reviews, and reviews from other retailers websites, just because I want to have read fair opinions across the board before I make any investments and this was one of those. I had read some problems from Mac owners had setting theirs up, and I want to say--I had no such problems. It was an easy set-up, easy install, etc. HOWEVER, that being said: I made this purchase online to take advantage of cash-back+pricematch, and picked up in-store because my printer was broken and I needed to print about 150 pages that day. So I placed the order, and when I added it to my cart it prompted me to buy ink for set-up. I wanted to compare ink prices in store, so I got to the store, browsed, talked to an associate about which cartridges to buy, made my purchase, went to the desk, had the printer loaded into my vehicle since it was ready for pickup before I got to the store, and when I got home, as I went to unload the printer from the car saw in a nice little image at the bottom that it CAME WITH SETUP INK for 300 pages. Had I known that, I would have saved myself the half hour walking around and deciding what to buy and would have simply placed an order on HP's website with my educator discount, and waited for the XL cartridges to get shipped to me at a cheaper price. No other reviews I saw mentioned it, and the item description didn't mention it, so I just others to be aware of the fact that you don't have to buy ink with this when you buy it unless maybe you need 600 the same day you buy it.

Do all printer that gets the job done - wirelessly. The printer price is quite reasonable and much faster than our last printer. Another great reason to upgrade.

Like my new HP 8710 as it is faster than my old printer and a bit easier to use. Hate the way HP ensures no earlier model printer ink will use to the printer is the least expensive part of an upgrade.

The printer has been very good and prints very clearly. It works well as a fax machine. I use the two sided printing feature often and it works every time with no jamming. As for the scanning feature, it also works as advertised. It is good on ink usage and I especially like the XL black ink cartridge. I am very happy with the printer.

I deployed this printer in 3 office locations for users who needed privacy when printing, rather than using a local MFP. These are fast, reliable, and easy to use. We use much of the features such as scan to email and scan to various formats. These are not work horses, as we have burned a few of them out under a year, but worth is for doing morderate printing and scanning.

Bought this to replace the 8610 with which my wife was happy (she's the main user who prints tons of stuff for her kindergarten class) until the printhead went bad after just over two years and cost more than a new printer to replace. So I decided to roll the dice and just go with the newer version, hoping it lasts longer this time. My only complaints are the cost of the ink and the fact that HP changed the cartridge number from the 8610 for no reason so I'm stuck with a decent amount of useless ink that was not cheap. Anyway, completely happy with how the 8710 has performed thus far. Set-up was also very easy as expected.

I wanted to upgrade my printer from and 8610 which was about 3 yrs old and I chose the 8710 and was not disappointed. I did need some help with the setup and the reps at the instant ink department helped me with that and gave me 3 months free which was great! I absolutely love this printer! The colors are vibrant and clear and the pages print really fast! I love the 2 sided print feature and use it all the time! I usually print about 80 to 100 pages per month and the instant ink program is a plus! I highly recommend this printer!

I usually limit spending on a printer to the $40-$60 range, so I was cringing on this purchase. But it was so worth it! It prints great, holds a good amount of paper, wireless printing is SO handy (printing from phone, laptop, tablet, etc. I can even let guests print from their devices when necessary). We also signed up for HP's instant ink program so I don't worry about printing full-page pictures on photo paper. The quality is so good we have even hung a couple pictures that we printed - have never done that before.

    Best Printer I've Ever Had

In a word, this printer is the "bomb!" It's incredibly fast. From a cold start, it took less than 15 seconds to begin printing a document. The quality of the output is superior and I've had it for a couple of months now and not a single jam or smudged page. That's not to say I don't have criticisms for the printer. It infuriates me that HP is SO determined on not allowing any third party inks. I fully realize that's where the profit is in these printers, but I truly DETEST being held hostage to their over-priced and highly restrictive ink reservoirs. I WILL find another way to get ink for these printers! I've tried a couple of other companies, but the HP codes have foiled me so far. But, I've not yet tried to refill the genuine HP tanks. There is a way to do this. It's rather time consuming and requires some precision and determination. But, I intend to find a way that doesn't force me to pay their ridiculous prices for ink! The quality of the printing is great. I highly recommend the product, and once I figure out how to beat their restrictions, I'm sure I'll print a LOT more than I already do. Bottom line, it's a great printer. The one downside is the company behind them. If I had the resources, I'd find some legal way to make them allow the use of third party inks. It's just not right to be FORCED to use their inks, and ONLY their inks. Be talkin' to you.....Webrydr

It was easy to set this printer up. I still haven’t been able to use the fax portion, but that may be operator error. I like the wireless printing option. It’s kinda loud when it starts to print, but that works for me because l know if something printed when I’m on a different floor.

Works OK if disabling web services

I am a software developer and I use this printer in my home and home office. The printer prints and scans as well as expected for this price printer. There is a web interface and a separate app to install to manage (each seems to offer different settings unfortunately), and I used those to configure that all scans would get a date-formatted name and be placed in a network share. It prints and scans double sided documents. For the most part I really like the printer. There is an issue, though, that caused me to have to disable web services. This means that I can no longer email a document to this printer and have it show up. This was a handy feature for printing contracts, etc., by forwarding them from my phone to a special, private email address for the printer. The problem was that my router thinks the printer is send a denial of service attack, so it shuts down my network for a while. Neither the router company (NetGear) nor the printer company (HP) have a fix that works for this. So my solution was to disable the web services. You may or may not have this problem if you use a different kind of router. Note that this does not affect me being able to print wirelessly from my laptop when on the same network. That works just fine.
