When shopping for one for our garage I was very careful to check that they were approved for garage usage. This one said it was in the owners manual. Now we are having a consistent problem with the freezer defrosting too often and getting too warm to keep our frozen foods frozen. It is still under warranty so we reported our problem. The service technician informed us that because the refrigerator maintained at 40 degrees.......as it should......the freezer was falsely sensing that it was too cold and defrosting when it didn’t need too. Consequently there was nothing that could be done for that!!! This is extremely distressing because it makes the freezer essentially useless and we invested in a 3 year extended warranty. This will absolutely be the one and only Insignia appliance we will ever buy if it’s typical of their quality. We will go back to buying Whirlpool even if more expensive!
