great product. thermals are good and the performance is good. probably the best cpu for the money right now

I have been running this processer for several months and it has been rock solid. I don't game with it, but it has handled everything I throw at it with ease. It rarely gets above 10 percent usage so it has plenty of spare cycles and runs cool.

Intel Core i5 is great for a gaming setup, although the fact that it is locked will be bad for overclockers.

Excellent performance, not a bad buy for the price, doesn't over clock but I don't need to for my use case.

The i5-10400 is a great entry/mid level CPU for a basic workstation capable of handling any program operations you ask of it. While not geared for rendering or any all-core intensive workloads, it handles such work well. Power use seems to be light along with low operating heat output which allows the CPU cooler fan to operate at lower speeds (in a well ventilated case).

great cpu if you dont wanna spend more for an i9. does the job and hasn't let me down.

Exactly what I was looking for. Speedy, responsive and fairly idiot proof. Included cooler is all that's needed since overclocking is locked.

Bought this processor on Black Friday for a great price and have been very happy with performance in my gaming rig. I was upgrading from an 4th generation processor so I definitely see a difference. The only thing I'd wish was better is the 2666 memory limit, wish it was higher but still getting great performance out of it so not really an issue.

Intel's i5-10400 often exceeds it's direct competitor, the Ryzen 5 3600, in gaming performance. 10400 is a solid processor that simply cannot be beaten in the budget range for gaming. When you are gaming, your CPU will often take a backseat. The 6 cores and 12 threads elevate it to a great base that will not bottleneck most GPUs and allows for great performance. This processor can often be had at a good price ($150-$160~ range), and is most important, available. For non-Z490 motherboards, your RAM speeds will be limited to 2666mhz, so be wary of that. If you wish to use RAM at the advertised speeds, opt for a Z490 board.

Great price for a great processor definitely a great buy

Uograded from an i5 4670k OC to 4.5 ghz. I plan on using this cpu for three years and then letting my wife use it for gaming. I couldn't justify spending more on a cpu for this reason. And the sale combo k received made it the best price to performance. The benchmarks I saw out it on par with the ryzen 5 3600 at 50 dollars cheaper.

Decent frame rates for a midrange CPU in gaming runs Low TDP, Workable bundled cooler. For a six-core chip with gaming chops, the Core i5-10400 is as good as it gets in Intel's 10th Generation stack.

Thanks to the CPU wars Intel has really stepped up their perf/dollar situation. Granted parts are a little hit and miss if you can find this it's a great deal. Best Buy had the best price internet and otherwise when purchased. Wish I had bought two or three or four.

Great value, not the fastest processor but it can be over clocked and was very easy to install.

Great processor so far at the price point. Got it for my dad's new PC with an ASROCK B550 steel legend motherboard.

I purchased this cpu as a lower cost option to go on a Gigabyte Z480 UD motherboard I was using as an upgrade to my older ASUS and i3 desktop. The i5 CPU and fan worked as expected on my new upgrade and I am very pleased with it.
