Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Core i7-9700K's gaming prowess, price-to-performance ratio, and easy installation. They appreciate its multitasking capabilities, powerful performance, and cooler temperatures compared to other processors. While some find it expensive, others point out that it lacks hyper-threading and is a generation or two behind.

Rebuilt my gaming rig with a Aorus Master and this 9700k. Granted it runs a bit warm stock, a strong 360mm rad took fantastic care of the heat. Benchmarks are strong, and this CPU handles my plex server transcoding and more easily. Gaming is fantastic and idle it uses very little power. Worth the upgrade from a 4790k

Installation was flawless and I couldn't be more satisfied! However I was somewhat surprised when this was delivered--I had ordered a new motherboard at the same time and while that came sealed in a nice big box, this little guy was in a flimsy envelope! The box was a little banged up but I'm glad it survived the trip!

Picked this up on black friday to upgrade from an old intel processor (a good 8 years old or so). So far this has been well worth the cost, performance across the board has not only been an improvement but has exceeded my expectations. If your looking at upgrading for gaming and have the budget, this CPU is well worth the money.

Purchased for a custom build, it overclocks to 5.1 with low vcore. 8 full cores of PC performance great for gaming builds. Cons, No hyper threading with this processor but it’s performance is beastly highly recommended.

Decided to save some money and grab this over the 9900k since I'm a little late in upgrading to the 9000 series. Snagged this bad boy for $299 on black friday. Running everything very well @ 1440p paired with a rtx 2080. Very happy with the purchase!

I got this during black friday when it was $300 which was a huge deal and was a very nice upgrade from my i5-6600k. So far it's been solid, no issues with heat and runs really well when gaming. Generally I fluctuate between 32c to 38c and up to about 48c when gaming and has no issues handling anything I throw at it.

Works great so far. This was chose for an AI project. K mean unlocked, so cooling is important. Initially was going to do AIO, but decided air cooling. First installed Noctua D15, but too massive and one of the fans was grinding. SO ended up using Be Quiet Dark Rock 4. So far everything is running great.

Great quality CPU. Haven't had a chance to get into the over clocking business, but with this one, I don't feel there's a need to. Using this in my first PC build and everything runs great. Doing everyday tasks and playing games is a breeze. Make sure you buy a decent cooler for this to keep it running at its best.

Was able to stably OC to 5ghz on all cores and combined with a 240mm water cooler never saw over 70°C while stress testing. Was going to go for the 9900K but got this significantly cheaper on sale and didn't notice a performance difference without hyperthreading. This thing handles every game I throw at it.

I first tried out the intel 9600k first, it overclocked to 5 ghz easily and temps never went over 70c. The performance with a 2080ti was pretty good but the cpu usage was always high around 80 to 90%. The gpu usage hovered around 96% when playing assassins creed odyssey, the framerate was around 60 fps. The 2 extra cores on the 9700k helped lower the cpu usage between 50 and 60%. The gpu usage went up to 99% and the framerate average went to around 68 fps and ran alot smoother. I have overclocked the 9700k to 5 ghz on water with temps in the 60c range. I am happy with the performance. One word of advice when you use the msi z390 gamers plus motherboard you have to flash the bios to the 1.60 version or it won't boot into windows 10, it will freeze. The board ships with the older 1.30 bios from last year, the 9600k will work, but not 9700k.

If you want a processor that covers all the bases when it comes to gaming, then this is the one for you! With 8 Cores and a base speed of 3.6Ghz (4.7Ghz Turbo boost | 5Ghz+ with OC), there isn't a game in existence that this can't run. I will give you fair warning, however: this processor doesn't include hyperthreading capabilities. So streamers, YouTubers, and creative connoisseurs may want to look at the I9-9900k or even the newer AMD 3700X, 3800X, or 3900X processors! They are definitely a hardy competition for Intel's lineup and are worth the look! TLDR: Great for gaming, not so much for multitasking/creative use. Pros: 8 Cores 4.7Ghz Turbo boost OC to over 5Ghz (at your own risk) Cons: No hyperthreading (may lack for steaming and YouTube) Needs decent cooling Price may be a bit high

I upgraded to this processor from an I5 9400f which honestly was good but not fast enough to handle vr games on my oculus. Now this processor is super fast and don't forget that you can also overclock if you need to. Overall a good buy.

What can I say? Stupid-fast if you still have a 1151 mobo. I have this on a TAME overclock of 4.2ghz and it doesn't care. I also have it water cooled, but it isn't anything huge or fancy. Great processor.

I installed seamlessly into a ROG STRIX Z390e mother board. A little thermal paste and a hi115 water cooler by Corsair and I wasn’t my way to my next build. I was an AMD man until this processor. It seems to run cleaner if that makes any sense.

Coming from an i3-4000M & finally upgraded to this beast of a CPU, the difference is amazing to say the least! Everything is fast, nice & smooth in daily tasks & people like me can definitely see how far Intel have come over the years. (The 1 downside of this CPU is the fact that the cores & threads are matched. 8 cores, 8 threads which means you don't have Hyper-Threading, but I don't consider that to be a bad thing at all. This CPU can be great for "just about" anyone. But if you're someone who is wanting to use this CPU for heavy workloads & multi-tasking, you'll be disappointed with how poorly this CPU stacks up against its competition for multi-tasking & all that.) If that's what you hope to use this CPU for, you might just be better off going with a 3rd Gen Ryzen CPU or whatever floats your boat.)

If you read anything about this processor and how it compares with the current stable from AMD then you already know the value of the processor. It has performed as it should and I have had no unforeseen issues or anomalies. I have not tried over clocking yet so there is no data there. I know I paid more for the Intel chip but many years ago I had gone with AMD on several boxes and was constantly disappointed with stability and performance. Guess I just cant get over the disappointment from that experience so I have stayed with Intel. I currently use a GTX 970 and have played The Outer Limits, Fallout 4, Satisfactory and Prey @ 1080 with beautiful solid fast game play. 32 GB memory with 500GB NVMe HDD round things out so normal computing tasks are almost instantaneous.
