Customers are positive about the UP MOVE Activity Tracker's sleep and step tracking, ease of use, and long battery life. Many appreciate its small size and accurate readings, along with the affordable price and helpful app. However, some customers have experienced issues with the clip detaching from clothing and syncing problems with their phones. A few also noted that it lacks waterproofing.

I was excited when I purchased this for my wife. After we received it, I down loaded the App only to find that we would get an error message, " this device uses Bluetooth LE and is not compatible with this phone". WHAT?? there is no mention on either Jawbones website or Best Buys that this could be. Jawbone's customer service was non existent. At least Best Buy was was great about the return process!

I wish the app synced more often and I wish it had a few more features, but for the money, this is a great fitness tracker! I love it! I wear it everyday and feel quite sad if I forget it at home.

It's not user friendly, it barely syncs to my phone. It's garbage. I tried to return it but it was past the 15 day retun policy...which also blows.

I was really excited that I could "hide" this tracker. That actually works really well. But, I wanted to wear it as a sleep tracker too. Comes with a wrist band - seems perfect. But, it was way too hard to take it out of each holder to put into the other holder! Also, the "clock" feature wasn't impressive. Should have a vibrate feature to let you know that you've put it into the mode that you are attempting. Great idea, but needs a few tweaks.

Unfortunately, this product was a waste of money. It fell off every time I went to the restroom, every time I walked fast or exercised, and even when bending down to tie my shoes! It fell off at the grocery store after only three weeks and I haven't seen it since :-(

I was exercising off and on. This tracker allows me to establish a routine. Once I set my goals it is easy to monitor the progresses. I love the sleep monitor. Now I try to keep a schedule. My life is on track. I am proud to share my accomplishments with my family and friends

Great device, app is where it shines

This is going to be a pretty detailed review but the short version is that this is a great tracker. The real power is in the app and all the other devices it can link to. The Jawbone app links to my scale, shows my heart rate, automatically brings in exercises done in other apps and shows me my friends in a really motivating way. I've bought 7 of these now for friends and family and all of us love it. Unboxing and setup: Inside the box is the tracker itself, a clip, a CR2032 battery and a tool to open the tracker so the battery can be inserted. The battery is easy to insert and when the tool gets lost (it inevitably will) a coin will work just fine. The clip easily attaches to a belt, waistband, shirt or almost any other article of clothing and holds well. I've had mine for 9 months and the clip is just as sturdy as it was when I first got it. The only difficult part is putting the tracker in the clip. It takes some force and a couple of minutes but that's better than some other trackers I've had where the tracker can slip out of the holder. Once the battery is in it needs to be linked to a phone through the Up app. On iPhones there are 2 different Up apps, one that requires a tracker and one that does not. The one that does require the tracker has a blue icon instead of purple. Once this app is downloaded, it walks you through connecting the tracker. This process is very reliable and a nice contrast to the Microsoft Band which has a terrible pairing process for non Windows phones. I've set up a bunch of these and never had any issues getting it connected. The tracker: The up move is a circle about the diameter of a quarter and the thickness of 3 quarters. My favorite feature is the battery that lasts for 6 months. I've had to change it once in the 9 months I've had it instead of charging daily or weekly. The face of it is a button and this is the only way to interact with the tracker directly. It's not obvious how to use it and the instructions that come with it could be a little bit clearer. There are 4 things that can be done: 1. Press the face button once to see what percentage of the way you are to your step goal. The edge of the tracker will light up to represent how far along you are. If the lights stop at the halfway point, you're halfway to your goal. 2. Press the button twice to display the time. Again, lights along the edge of the tracker will com up. The hour will flash first followed by the minutes. This takes some getting used to but works well in situations where pulling your phone out would be awkward. 3. Press and hold the face button to enter or exit sleep mode. Before going to sleep, do this so it knows to start tracking sleep. The lights will flash and a blue moon will light up. When you wake up do this again and the lights will flash and an orange man will appear. 4. Press twice and hold the face button to enter activity mode. This lets the tracker know you're about to start exercising and it will try and figure out what you're doing. Even if it can't it will still give you credit for the activity. The app: This is where the Jawbone really shines. The app is well designed so the information you're most likely to want to see is on screen first. It shows sleep, activity and a food score if you track your food. These update automatically throughout the day and a quick glance is all that's required to see how you're doing. Where the app became invaluable for me was when I hooked it up to other fitness devices and apps I was already using. I have the Withings Body Analyzer (think a scale on steroids) and I weigh myself every morning. My weight, body fat percentage and heart rate go immediately into the Jawbone and it's treated just like the data that comes directly from the band, easily visible instead of hidden away in some corner of the app. I track food with MyFitnessPal and again the data is imported into Jawbone and put front and center exactly as if I was doing the tracking in the Jawbone app. My favorite is the Runkeeper integration. Every run I go on shows up in Jawbone with a map, my distance and time. I love that I get to pick the best app for me and use that but still have Jawbone be the hub of it all. Social aspects: This was an area I didn't think would be important until I started using it. I got my girlfriend a tracker when she kept asking questions about mine and once she had one, she started commenting on my activities. In the app there is an activity feed that can show activities from all teammates (friends who also use Jawbone) or just your own. When you see other peoples activities a little emoji icon let's you leave a happy or astounded face and a comment box let's you leave more detailed feedback. I use this all the time now. When my brother plays 2 hours of basketball it's easy to congratulate him. When I have a really good run my friends can see it and provide some encouragement. When I get a really good (or bad) nights sleep my friends can chime on. Some other trackers I've used focus heavily on competition with friends. For me (and my friends) this was a turn-off. Jawbone is based around encouragement and I find myself using it much more. There's still a leaderboard, I can see who's taking the most steps this week and try and move up but I'm much happier with the social features here than I have been with other trackers. Smart coach: The last thing worth mentioning is the Smart Coach, Jawbone's way of chiming in with suggestions. In general I like the way this works but the suggestions themselves get repetitive. There are 3 categories of suggestions: Take more steps, eat more fiber and go to sleep earlier. They're all good suggestions and they're presented well but it gets old after a while. Final thoughts: As a device to help me get in better shape, Jawbone is the best I've found. The tracker does what it's supposed to do and the app is the hub of all my fitness related gadgets. If you're a novice, it's very easy to use and if you're a techie, there's enough data to satisfy almost everyone. There's only one downside I've found: there's no way to get notifications from your phone on it like you can on some higher end trackers. I hope they add this in the future but it would require a complete redesign of the tracker. I may end up getting an Apple Watch in the future for that purpose. For straight fitness tracking, Jawbone is the best.

I purchased this for my mother for Mother's Day. She used it and it worked great, then all of a sudden, it stopped registering her steps. I'm going to either exchange this for another one or upgrade it to the bracelet one.

After multiple attempts we couldn't get it to connect to the IPad2. Went online and read all the blogs and did everything they said to no avail. There aren't any actual instructions that come with this device, it only comes with a website address.
