If you're wondering between these and the ultimates they're not even the same category. The Treble gets So screechingly high even if you turn it down on the equalizer you will hurt your ears before any bass can be achieved. I have 3 Ultimates and just 1 ultimate alone sounds better than 2 720s. The bass is also not as deep or powerful. Mid range is not compensated with the two small tweeters. Very cool portability feature but thats the ONLY thing these have going for them compared to just getting a single Ultimate.

My first experience with this product was as a teacher in a local elementary school where the principal used it to bring cheer to children in the lunchroom on Fridays. He would play some of the popular songs and they would sing along. I was surprised at how pronounced and yet clear the bass was! I told myself right then, "I have to get something like this!" As a vocalist and musician, I bought the JBL PartyBox 720 to have a nice portable system to sing and play music through for family and church events. The day after receiving the unit from Best Buy, I was able to use it at my sister's bakery customer appreciation event where she had a popular barbecue food truck vendor come to sell meals outside as customers visited her shop. with the speaker running on the two convenient batteries it comes with, I had way more than enough power to get me through the six hours of celebration! I received many complements on the unit on which I even debuted the jingle I composed for D. Sweets Cookies and Gifts! Since then, I have been enjoying the item at home utilizing it to listen to many different varieties of music. It has rich and satisfying warm bass tones and conveniently connects with bluetooth devices. Using it as a theater speaker with my large TV, I found that it delivers the powerful depth and rumble found in quality movie theaters! I am also pleased with it having the ability to be wheeled around with the two onboard wheels and handle provided. I feel that the unit is a great option for anyone who wants to elevate their party, church, or any other gathering where a moderately hefty PA and music system is needed.

The JBL PartyBox 720 sounds great and has no problem getting loud. The bass is strong, the lights look good, and as a standalone party speaker it definitely brings the energy. Where it fell short for me was ease of use, especially considering the price. Pairing with Alexa was one of the major deal breakers. I could never get it to work. Not once. I had a much cheaper pair of party speakers that handled basic Alexa/Bluetooth use with no issue, while the JBL required more steps and still would not connect the way I needed it to. The app was also not very user-friendly. It did not always log in correctly, and there were times I had to restart it multiple times just to get things working. That became a big issue because the separate speaker controls are basically nonexistent without the app. Using multiple speakers was not as smooth as I expected either. When spending this kind of money, I expected better control over each speaker individually and a simpler workflow for grouping, adjusting, and managing them during real use. The sound itself is not the problem. It sounds very good. But for the cost, I expected the overall user experience to be much easier and more reliable. Because of that, I would give it 3 stars.

The sound is phenomenal, the base is fantastic. Yes, it is a big Speaker- Yes, you can absolutely move it around, and Yes the light show is awesome. Also having a removable battery is simply fantastic. I have used it at a couple of tailgates, at a wedding, and at some outdoor dance event - and it fills up the space!! - plugged in and on battery only!!

What can I say? It is simply awesome. First, let me tell you about the sound; this box is loud, even at low volume. When you do turn it up, the sound coming out of the speakers is clear with no distortion, even when the bass is on. Regarding battery life, I love that it is portable; you do not have to keep it plugged into an outlet. The two rechargeable batteries it comes with last until the party is over and then some. I love the multiple functions of the light effects on the front and side of the PartyBox, which make any party lively. Portability; it is a little on the heavy side, but what do you expect with such a powerhouse of sound coming out of this thing! It has wheels and a sturdy handle to move it where you need to. Overall, I give it two thumbs up and five stars. My friends and family enjoy it too; I receive so many compliments about it. So, if you are searching for a portable speaker, look no further; the JBL PARTYBOX 720 is the way to go, and you won't regret it!

recently got the JBL PartyBox speaker, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is powerful and clear, with deep bass that you can actually feel—perfect for parties or even just playing music at home. Wow. This speaker cranks out the sound. Strong low end. Battery allows you to not have to plug in to power. Have not tested battery life yet. Can't wait for football tailgate season. A little heavy at approx 60# but it does have wheels

This is amazingly loud and portable. Long battery life 15 hours + and amazing light show. Yes its costly but its a Party, in a box!

My son wanted this for his 14th Birthday and the sound and battery life on this is exceptional, the bass is amazing and all of the features are excellent. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants a great portable speaker.

I’ve been really impressed with the JBL PartyBox 720. The sound quality is loud, clear, and has deep bass that really fills the room or outdoor space. This thing is Boss its so loud crisp fun has a nice rubber grip handle with 2 wheels at the bottom for easy transportation enjoying this JBL speaker party box 720 in my car outside and movie night karaoke and so much more

This unit is well worth the money. I have used on my patio for pool parties. Patio is 50 feet from pool and have not had to put it pass half way to hear it. Deep bass and clear voices. Wish it had a built-in radio but you got apps for that. Best money I've spent on a speaker.

Everyone has been shocked by how loud and powerful this is off of battery. I had it running for a while (several hours) and had plenty of battery left. Problem is it is huge and heavy. Wheels are smooth but lifting over any obstacle is tough as there is no good handles. I have to grab one hand on top handle and one hand on the bottom of the entire unit. Just putting hand placements on the sides would have been easier. I'm still in debate if getting 2 520s would have been a better idea for stereo sound as this may be overkill and overweight and would not have room for a second one.

I didnt think the 710 could be topped from JBL but wow does the 720 blow it out of the water. The bass sounds more pure, and definitely more punchy. The device is user friendly to connect to my laptop, tv, phone - wherever i want the jams to come from. I have to keep it pretty low in volume because it's also louder than the 710. I listen to a lot of bass heavy music and this makes me feel like i'm at a concert right next to the speakers watching the artist play live. I love it. It brought music back to my home.
