The receiver works great, its simple but works as described. I got this receiver since I do not use CD’s or DVD’s in my car. It is easy to play music from the phone or radio. Just plug the phone and download the application from android to have access to android auto or just plug your iPhone and right away it will work. The music also plays from your Bluetooth but if you want to use hands free navigation, music, calls, texts, etc. You have to plug your phone. As for the sound, it is nice and clear, and I like the equalizer you can modify for each function of the source of the sound. You have the extra bass button and ability to plug in your subwoofer. I like that there are 2 phones full time connection, so you get calls. I do have 2 cameras on my car so I really like that it helps me park every time. I do wish that the radio could power the camera so I do not have to switch on/off the camera separately. I got the steering wheel connected and the volume, track, mute, mode, works great. As for the output in the audio side, I wish it had more power if I put the volume up it gets distorted so I have to lower it often.

I upgraded from the factory radio and it's definitely worth it. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. I was starting to have issues with the factory radio (CDs not ejecting, AUX connection short) and I wanted Apple Carplay as well as handsfree for my phone. I love being able to stream Spotify & iTunes. The ability to listen to a larger library of music and podcasts for those long drives is huge for me. The Bluetooth connection works great for those things as well as receiving calls. Those that have called me have said that the audio quality is good although they could tell I was in my Jeep. The calls came through pretty good. Most of those calls have been in the city at lower speeds. I think on the highway with a softop Jeep, it's going to be noisy and more difficult to hear unless you turn up the volume. Connecting the phone to the USB is great for charging but also accessing the full Apple Carplay features including Google Maps & Waze. I purchased a USB connection port to replace the cigarette lighter and installed it myself. This way I don't have a USB cable dangling from the dash. The USB connection looks like it came that way from the factory. Audio quality does seem better/clearer than the factory radio. I got Best Buy to do the install. They were great and the install looks great. Volume is controlled by two buttons on the top left and I've read some people would prefer a knob. The buttons look cleaner but I have had to adjust to no knob after decades of having a volume knob. The only drawback is the reflection on the screen. Depending on how the sun hits it, there's glare. Also, some sunglasses may make the screen more difficult to see. I think that has to do with the polarization on the sunglasses. Not a big deal.

If you don't need navigation but may need it, this is the radio for you. Easy to use format with great sound and has front rear camera inputs. My phone links up for music or hands free calls on the road. With mobile data you can use Google assistant or waze maps. If you want a upgrade I recommend this radio.

We bought it for our 2009 RAV4 a month back. Great hassle free installation from Best Buy, although it was scheduled 3 weeks post purchase. It has integrated well with the car’s speaker system. Many functions can simply be accessed via Bluetooth connection with the phone including music apps. Apple car play can only be used with USB wire connection. It doesn’t have a GPS of its own, need to use phone GPS via Apple CarPlay for navigation. Touch screen functionality is great.

First off I have installed many radios and dvd units. I asked the Cape Cad mall installers for the correct install kit and Wiring harness. They handed me the correct parts for a 2003 Mustang. They asked a few questions of what type of unit I was looking for. I picked this one after looking at a few. It went in very easy and I pre wired the hookup harness to the radio harness. Went out to the car and with in about 45 min it was up and playing music. The only small issue is with a standard there isn't a part signal for the screen. Other than that this is a great unit.

This radio was installed in my 2010 Mustang. So far i;m very happy with it. It sounds so much better than the stock radio, I also added a SiriusXm tuner and plan on adding a backup camera. The Android Auto app is very helpful, plan to use it for google maps and waze. Best of all I can now receive calls via bluetooth, talk with the external Mic and hear through the car speakers.

Great value at BF sale price. Works well as long as the unit is grounded to the chassis. Good amount of features. You are going to wish you bought the upgrade speakers for the car... the sound improvement is noticeable with oem speakers. The home button is your best friend and the android and carplay work flawlessly as long as you use a quality usb cable. There is a small learning curve for interface operation.

I am disappointed in the screen resolution I guess is what you would say. When using car play the screen looks like it has too much brightness or exposure? I've changed every setting and changed the angle physically in the dash. No luck. I would spend a little more and get a better head unit. Operating and , installation is straight forward but the initial setup and some operations in the manual are pretty confusing. They tried to combine too many models into one manual in my opinion. Also. Mine is missing the supposedly included MIC. ITs not a stand alone navigation system like I thought it was either. But you have to keep in mind it's not a terribly expensive unit. The options and quality I wanted is available in more expensive models so honestly I thinks it's not necessarily the radio that is the problem, it is my choice of radios that is the problem.

We recently installed this head unit in a Jeep Cherokee. Very impressed with the quality of the unit and its capabilities. We connected a backup camera to it as well with no issues. It has a USB charging dongle that was a little awkward to route but it is very handy. Apple car play only seems to work fully when phone is connected to the dongle.

I can’t say anything bad about this unit, but I can’t say much good either. It’s just okay. The volume controls are small and feel cheap, the function of the Apple car play is nice and saves this unit from a 2 star review. Buy something else if you have some extra cash.

I bought an open box because that's all that was available. Sounds great, easy enough to install with a little know-how on researching how to setup with a Mustang that has factory amplified speakers. No big deal though and would buy again. This is my first JVC --- and says JVC Kenwood on boot so I think it's pretty great. Very responsive and easy to see touchscreen

Really enjoying this new head unit. I installed it in my older car because I wanted to be able to do BT, hands free calling, charges my smart phone etc...This gives me all the modern features I need. I love all the features, the ability to tailor the sound! Has Apple Car play! Enjoying it so far!

Love rhis stereo. Lota of features. Plenty of controls for sub, amp and speakers. Easy to use once you are familiar. Android auto worka well but is sensitive to the quality of cord you use. Get a good short cord. Phone microphone is okay needs adjustment to ensure you can be heard clearly.

So many features packed into this unit and for the price you can’t beat it. Mainly purchased it because of apple play and it doesn’t disappoint. This JVC unit runs so many better and easier to use then the factory head unit I had in my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder premium.

    Older Vehicle Upgraded

The factory radio on our 2012 Ford E-350 had broken. The display was not showing anything, and the controls weren't working. Even if the radio had been working still, I was spoiled by the touch-screen with Apple CarPlay in our 2019 Ford F-150, and in my work truck - a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500. So we decided to upgrade. This radio not only works like our latest, greatest vehicle radios do; it puts out some really high quality sound. My family and I and our 7 children put our 12-passenger van through the paces after having this radio installed, making first a trip to Colorado Springs, then a trip to southern Ohio and back. And I will tell you that we are very glad we upgraded our vehicle's media receiver with this JVC before we did. Now we're going to add some better speakers to take better advantage of the capabilities of this JVC.

Works as advertised. The wiring for the antenna power in this model (2013 FRS) is a little unclear, and Apple Carplay requires plugging into the USB (which, if you want to use the one in the car, requires a separate adapter). Also, be advised you'll have to cut the brackets for it to fit but it's soft and you can do it with wire cutters and a sander if need be. All in all, pleased with it so far.
