I gave this mixer as a gift to my mom for Christmas. She loved it but unfortunately the button that control the speed got broken after seven months of use. She is careful with her cooking tools, and in fact has another one (same brand) that she has been using for six years. I don't know if it is a common problem with this model or we have just had bad luck. Because of that uncertainty, I still recommend it.

I purchased this device on Black Friday to help with my cooking prowess and to possibly turn me into a master chef. My brother's wife has this Artisan model and successfully continues to use it for at least 7 years all while serving a very large family (5 and counting). I look forward to getting the same use out of my mixer. While I was hoping to find a matte black model in the store, this bright red model will do just fine. Especially since Best Buy matched the price of an online competitor.
