I’ve had several front loads since they first hit the market. They are a great improvement step forward in laundry care, but introduce new challenges. Each generation introduces fixes and improvements, one step at a time. This is my third generation of product and the first non-US brand I’ve purchased. It is a very solid upgrade for my family and continues my good experience of LG as a brand in the appliance market. Everything about this unit thoughtfully laid out. My only complaint is that it feels there are almost too many options...good news is there is a setting for any situation. But given this unit does the basics so well, I’m not convinced the more exotic options really matter. But that is a smaller complaint against my overall impression and expectation that the mechanics are good and features/functions well laid out. I highly recommend. The brand and model is highly rated by leading consumer review sites, as well.

Pros: very quiet compared to our older Whirlpool 7yr old dryer. Good value at Best Buy on special offer. Steam is great for reducing wrinkles in shirts and cotton sheets Cons: the water supply hose provided by LG does not have a 90 degree fitting which prevents the dryer fitting close to the back wall which can bend and kink the hose and put stress on the dryer hose connection. The water hose inlet location on the bottome left rear of the dryer also prevents the dryer exhaust vent hose from fitting close to the rear of the dryer if you need to direct it to that side. LG would be better putting the water hose connection high as it is on the washing machine. I recommend getting a stainless steel water hose with 90 degree end fitting to replace the LG hose. Our new dryer has a fault : it gives a restricted Flow error and D 80 restriction/blockage error when doing the dryer installation check; according to the manual, this error will automatically shut the dryer down after 2mins 30 seconds if it occurs in use. Thinking the vent trunking was blocked inside the wall, I had the trunking cleaned professionally and I fitted a new short metal vent hose to the dryer and removed the drywall and fitted hard pvc vent piping in the wall, removing a 90 degree bend and the old metal flex piping to minimize any flow restriction. I Repeated the vent installation test per LG manual but the fault D80 and restricted flow message recurred, even after clearing the electronic "memory" reseting per instructions. I looked up the issue on the internet, this time I tested the dryer without connecting the vent trunking but the fault remained. So, again I checked the internet and per the advice put a wet load of laundry into the dryer (6lbs of towels) and Ran the dryer in towel mode for 50 mins. This time no error D80 or restricted flow error was indicated and the dryer has worked perfectly and the error has not reappeared to date.

A big upgrade here for us, in both size and functions. Could not cover all the functions in a review, so we just say, that if you need to dry it, this unit will do the job. It's also, stackable with LG large-capacity washing machines, has a steam fresh cycle and many more......

Bought the dryer at the same time as the washer and the pair have been extremely proficient and reliable. Have only had washer and dryer pair for a few weeks but excellent performance and easy to set cycles and dryer optimization

The LG Electric Dryer is definitely the perfect dryer. The LG dryer is efficient, quiet, and well designed. The drying sensor measures the amount of moisture and clothes dry faster without wrinkles. This is a high performance dryer. Highly recommend!

Works great; very quiet, and the sensing technology lets it stop drying when needed, vs. keep drying and spending dollars to dry "dry clothes". Haven't used the steam feature yet but know it will come in handy when needed. Very pleased with the W/D set.

Great washer and dryer! We have never had any problems with it and bought this last year. It washes the clothes very well and I love that there are so many options on them. The only thing I want to warn people about is the color that you choose. We opted for black stainless steel and after it was delivered there was a small chip of paint missing from the very front of the dryer. Now after having anything on top of the machines, there are small surface type scratches on the tops of both machines. This could be from laundry supplies resting on top of the machines probably. In hindsight, I would of gone with the white. These are still very beautiful to look at, I just wished there was some way to clean black stainless steel.

This dryer is excellent. Not only does it dry well and is extremely quiet, it lets you know if the air flow through the exhaust vent is safe for operation. The machine is stylish and the perfect size for an average utility/laundry room.

My wife and I needed a new washing machine and dryer. We shopped around, comparing models and brands, and even calling local repair shops to get advice. But in the end, we just really liked all the features and the look of the LG units the best. They fit our modern house concept much better than other brands. Once we got this new dryer installed, my wife immediately started washing everything in the house. She told me that the new washer and dryer worked better than our old ones by a huge margin. And our old ones were $1000 units, so it’s a good comparison. Our favorite feature about the new dryer is that we only have to dry our clothes once. The old one, we would have to run 2-3 times before everything was fully dry.

I love my new LG dryer! It's so pretty and quiet. I love the white LED lights on the outside and the interior lighting is great. It drys the clothes very efficiently. I love the end of cycle melody it plays! Very user friendly and easy to customize settings.

Looks great and works great! Like that they upgraded the steam to be hooked up by a hose instead of filling the plastic drawer. Runs quiet and could not be more satisfied.

The LG electric dryer is large enough to efficiently dry a big load of clothes. It looks nice next to the LG washing machine. Lots of drying options & it’s relatively quiet.

I also purchased the matching washer after much research in the store and online. I've had this dryer for about 3 weeks now and I love it so much more than my previous traditional dryer. This is a great dryer with many settings to match the settings of the washer. I can easily add drying time if needed or add steam when needed. Extra hoses were needed for the dryer due to the steam function, but total worth it when I need to add steam to my clothing to help remove wrinkles and odors. Very quiet and cute song plays at the end of cycle to let me know when it's all done (very easy to turn off the song). Interactive display and countdown timer on display, too. I'm very happy with my purchase and I would highly recommend to others.

Love this dryer. Love the classy black stainless steel look. Super quiet performance. Easy to clean filter. Matched it up with the black stainless steel LG washer and pedestals. Couldn't be happier!

I bought my first set of LG w/d in 2006. The washer just died after 11 years, replaced them with a new LG set, I think they will be perfect as well. So quiet, efficient, and they do a great job on our laundry!

We recently replaced our 14 year old Kenmore dryer. Love this dryer. It lights up inside and has many different program levels. Dries clothes quickly and quietly

The features and function of the LG Dryer are great. Many drying options, Quiet, buttons are clear to read and see. My only complaint is the doors are plastic and not heavy at all, so I catch myself slamming them, I wish they had a little more substance to them; my previous dryer had heavier doors.

Love all the features on this dryer. Great product for a great price. Performs much better than the Kenmore dryer it replaced (lost in flooding). Looks sharp too.

This is definitely the best dryer we have ever owned. It is quiet and highly efficient. From the research I've done on-line it is the highest rated machine out there. So far we agree.
