The best current 2 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom line: The best current 2 in 1. Missing thunderbolt, but can still charge through a usb c device. The good: The size is perfect, the computer is extra light which actually makes it useable as a tablet. The keyboard feels great. The processor is excellent, the battery is the best in the class, memory is stacked, the finger print reader works really really well, and stylistically it is above average. The screen looks great. The USB C port supports charging. I bring my computer to work and plug it into a USB C dock that connects to an ultrawide monitor, charges, and connects to a plethora of peripheral devices. Works like a charm. The bad: No thunderbolt. Screen brightness isnt the best. I actually returned my first one because I thought the screen was too dark and was defective. I was right the replacement is better. Stylus looks meh and works meh, but at least it is included for free. I considered the yoga, the spectre 360, the spectre portfolio, asus, the samsung, all of them. This beats them all. If you can afford it, buy it.

Great mix of Portability and Productivity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not have high expectations for this laptop because LG does not make many laptops. However, they do make great products and this far exceeded my expectations. Overall this laptop is a great product but not without a few flaws. Starting with the design of the computer, this is possibly my favorite part of the entire computer. The body is made out of military grade aluminum. I have used a lot of different medal body design laptops and most of them scratch, collect finger prints, get extremely cold, and dent easily. The design of this laptop is not the case at all. It is extremely durable and my favorite part is that it is not a fingerprint magnet. The laptop is extremely light weight however in my opinion it is a little bigger than I believe it could be. It is a very skinny laptop however not the skinniest I have seen compared to similar designs. This becomes apparent when you fold it back into tablet mode it just seems a little bulky. The screen is a beautiful screen. Again it is not the highest resolution but it still looks extremely nice. The gorilla glass is a nice touch and you can actually see how thick it is. I believe this makes it extremely more resistant however it does not seem like it is that thick while looking at it or using the touch screen. The last part of design I will talk about is the included accessories. It was really surprising that a pen and dongle were included in the box. The pen is high quality and most computers would charge and sell this type of item separately. I am not an artist however this pen feels really nice to the hand and works great in many different types of applications. The dongle that is included is a USB-c to Ethernet cable which is a nice additions since most laptops of this size do not include an Ethernet port. Battery life is always a huge thing when it comes to portable computers. This laptop promised industry leading battery life and I was very excited to test this out. I was unfortunately disappointed by this. I got about 7-10 hours battery life just doing normal tasks on the computer which I found to be abnormal. Hopefully more tests to follow will yield better results. Last aspect of testing was the performance of this laptop. The larger 500 gb SDD definitely makes a difference. This allows you to have plenty of storage for apps and programs while still having room to store some data. The built in I7 CPU has plenty of power to do any everyday task that is needed. I would not recommend trying to game on this laptops however it is plenty to run most any programs. It was really nice that this laptop includes 16 GBs of ram as well. Overall I believe the components far exceed the needs of anyone looking for this type of laptop which is a bonus. Overall, this is a great laptop for someone who wants the perfect balance between portability and productivity. When you combine a great design with powerful components it makes for a great laptop. I highly recommend this to anyone who travels and needs a portable and powerful laptop for business or creativity purposes.

Light and powerful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one caught my eye because it’s only 2.2 lbs. I was surprised to find how light the power brick is too. It’s made out of plastic to get the weight down. It also helps this laptop PC is running the latest 8th generation i7 processor, has 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. FHD 1080p display nice And battery life up to 17.5 hours is good although I get approx. 12-14 hours as I’m always on the internet. Touchpad is a little stiff but no problem hurting my arm. PC is built to MIL standards so more durable than most laptops on the market now. Speakers better than most laptop PC’s I’ve had. More bass is much appreciated. Light enough to flip over into a tablet but tent or stand mode more appealing to me. I tried the included pen on MS One Note. OK but probably won’t use it much. Fingerprint reader a handy sign in feature. And very reliable to use too. Personally I like the color of this machine. It’s an enduring classic. It was slow going getting set up. Booting up, setting up fingerprint reader and creating a recovery drive on a USB 2.0 flash drive. Think I’ll buy a USB Type C flash drive and try again. Recommend this laptop to folks who are always on the go. Or anyone that wants a light and powerful laptop.

Great Laptop, Good Tablet
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get this LG Gram 2-in-1 14 inch touch-screen laptop. I have been working off an old Mac Airbook that gets the job done, but it slow to boot up and does freeze up often when I try to run multiple programs at once. Out of the box, this is a sleek looking laptop. It is lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in my opinion. The keyboard is nice and study; it isn’t “loud” like some keyboards are will clicking, but also do feel firm and are responsive. The performance is amazing with the Gram - the speed at which is boots up and shuts down is impressive. It is fast and easy to flip open and start working. It also has a fingerprint unlock capability; something that isn’t new to the market, but something that I appreciate wholeheartedly as I hate having to type in my password to unlock anything these days. The screen is very crisp and clear - it has the ability to rotate from landscape to portrait depending on how you want to use it (laptop vs. tablet). There isn’t a lot of “board” surrounding the screen, so you’re getting a full 14” of viewable area (13.75” if you are not counting taskbar at the bottom of the screen). The touchscreen is also very responsive to both the stylus pen and finger touch. The Gram has several ports such as USB-A, USB-C, micro SD slot, HDMI, headphone jack and an ethernet connector. I can’t too much to the storage capabilities of the Gram, as much of what I work on is cloud base. I can see where it may not have the capacity that some need, but for me, that’s not an issue. The battery life on the Gram is next level. I don’t work on my laptop daily typically, but I can do use it often and for lengthy periods of time when I do, and I feel like I never have to charge it. It will literally keep a charge for well over a week. Also, when it does need to be charged, it doesn’t take long for it to completely charge. My old laptop can have a full charge and after about an hour of heavy use, I’m lucky to have 25% battery left. Needless to say, I am extremely happy and impressed with the battery life of the Gram. Even though the Gram has the ability to switch into tablet mode, I prefer to use it as a traditional laptop. I personally find it weird to feel the keyboard when I flip it to tablet mode. That’s not to say that it doesn’t make an amazing tablet as well, it’s just my personal preference. Overall, I would suggest the Gram to anyone in the market for a multiversital device. It works well, is fast and lightweight.

One of the best I have ever owned!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This touch screen laptop is hands down the best laptop I have ever owned. I am so very impressed with it. Up until this point, I have always owned laptops that had standard HDDs and nothing above an Intel Core i5 processor. Let me tell you, there IS a difference between an Intel Core i5 and the Core i7. The very first thing that stands out to me is the fact that this computer turns on and is ready to be used in about 9 seconds! That is super fast and I can really appreciate that after every other laptop I have used taking in the upwards of 2 minutes or more to fully turn on (sometimes longer). This is surely due to the SSD instead of the HDD. I will NEVER get another laptop that does not have a SSD. You cannot beat the performance. I can use photo editing applications on this laptop that used to take several minutes to load up on my other laptops. Now, applications load in seconds. Do not let the smaller screen size fool you, this is a very functional size and I in no way regret choosing the smaller screen size. This laptop is so much more functional and portable due to the smaller form factor. This laptop folds the screen to turn into a tablet and it also comes with a stylus! The stylus is very accurate and definitely makes editing photos a breeze. The keyboard has a back light which has two different brightness adjustments which is nice for working in dim light. I also love the battery life, this thing sips power and lasts for hours before needing to be charged again! This laptop also comes with an adapter to allow a network cable to be plugged in. I do not know if this is really necessary due to the shift of everyone using wifi, but I guess it is a nice touch just in case you need a wired connection. The laptop also has a fingerprint reader conveniently hidden inside the power button! I love not having to type in a password to log on! I have only one negative that I noticed with this laptop. It does NOT have a standard sized SD card slot. It only has a microSD card slot. This will be frustrating for people who still used the standard size as they will most likely have to purchase a separate USB adapter of some kind. All in all, this laptop is awesome and if you purchase it you will NOT be disappointed!

VERSATILE AND EXTREMELY PORTABLE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this laptop for a few weeks and at first I was very skeptical in regards to the weight and feel of the laptop right out of the box. I was very wrong, it has a very lightweight feel to the point where it almost feels flimsy but it's just that I am used to "heavy objects are built to last" mentality. The laptop was a breeze to setup right out of the box and I have yet to encounter a major issue. The display looks amazing and streaming content looks very good and the color is rich and vibrant. The connections were also a bonus, I thought it would have less inputs because of the constraint of a smaller laptop and smaller frame. The laptop had pretty much every connection my full size laptop has so the transition was very easy. The only negative I encountered when talking ports was the charging port, it has a very old style connection when other tablets have made it easy to charge devices thru a USB-C cable. It almost doesn't make sense to streamline and have such a advanced pc with all the newest ports and then add an old prong/plug type charger. The performance and battery life are amazing, I truly enjoy the extended battery life that the smaller size offers. As far as a mobile laptop go the performance has been very reliable, streaming, email, web surfing and yes even work solutions can be done on this laptop. BONUS!!! It comes with a pen, tho the pen may be slightly limited as it does not have a pen top button like the surface pro it does make navigation websites, filling out forms and using the ink windows program. Overall I love this 2-1 LG Gram, it does not leave much to be desired.

This laptop checks all the boxes!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review for LG - gram 2-in-1 14" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 512GB Solid State Drive This laptop is light, fast, powerful, and has great battery life. Often, one or more of these features are missing when you go shopping for a new laptop. This LG Gram is easy to set up, quick to launch (thanks to its SSD), and responds quickly when launching apps and using the included Wacom stylus. You can flip the unit open to use it as a tablet using your finger for input or the stylus for precision drawing, The Gorilla Glass screen is designed to resist scratches and damage, which is always a concern to me when using a stylus. The laptop’s hinge is solid and well-made; in fact, the whole units feels like quality. It’s well-designed, light weight, but solid, and comes with things you might expect to buy with other laptops — such as the USB-C to Ethernet adapter. Wireless is great, but if you want better Internet speed using an Ethernet cable, you can have it without the additional thickness of the laptop required to support an Ethernet jack. I also like the lighted keyboard, the multiple ports for I/O, and the built-in fingerprint reader that lets you power the unit or wake it up and log on at the same time,

Fast, Light, Stylish
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is incredibly polished. It just looks and feels great. It's light, has a superb battery life, a convenient fingerprint reader, a rich display, a tiny power brick, and a convenient stylus. If you are in the market for a 2-in-1 device, you really can't go wrong with this one. I wasn't aware LG made PCs, but this device definitely got my attention. It has exceeded my expectations and I can't recommend it highly enough. There are a lot of 2-in-1 laptops. For me, this device is set apart by its style and the storage. The 512gb storage and the 16GB of Ram are an excellent addition. The computer boots up fast and multitasks very well. It truly feels like an iPad replacement done right. You get the convenience of a light tablet with a bigger screen and a fully featured operating system. It's a fast computer out of the box and, if you want, you can always add a micro-sd card for more document, music, or photo storage. The stylus works great. It comes with replacement heads and a tool to replace them. The screen and the pen did a great job recognizing the pressure I was putting on the stylus to make lines thicker or darker. It works out of the box (once you install the battery) and really could not be any simpler. The laptop sacrifices 4K for a FHD 1080P display that supports HDR video in Windows 10, but I don't feel like that is a problem. At this size, I can't tell much of a difference and with that sacrifice in screen resolution, you get a faster device. A few tips: First, there are two audio performance apps included. The DTS app does a good job improving the sound for the whole device and isn't just a headphone mixer as I originally thought. Second, the pre-installed LG app provides allows you to change many settings including the keyboard back light toggle. For the first day, I didn't even realize the keyboard had lighting. There are plenty of wonderful 2-in-1 devices made by HP, Dell, Lenovo, and others, but I would highly recommend the LG gram. It's one of the most polished laptops available.

Portable Power at your Finger Tip
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a relatively tiny, but powerful little machine. Being a 2-in-1 you get the power of a laptop, and most of the benefits of a tablet. The processor and memory is above the average for these devices and you can see it. First, it handles my Netflix video playback flawless. Used this on a plane this past week for travel, and it worked really good with the big display and just was simple. Only downside, is that the physical surface was so smooth, it slid a couple times on my tray-table. But even after a 2+ hour flight, playing video the entire time, had over 10hours of battery life left. The power adapter is SMALL, which is great for a portable laptop like this. Makes it real easy to use a simple backpack vs a big bag, and you barely know it is there. Runs Windows 10 out of the box, so just about ALL your applications work on it. I was even running Fusion 360 (a full CAD program), and it was chugging along with no problems. The nice TOUCH of this device, is the finger print reader on the power button. makes it real easy to unlock the machine. The touch screen and include stylus is slightly above average. I was able to do some basic drawing and design work with it. It does take time to get use to the Microsoft INK functions, but that is consistent across the board. This machine has already replaced my chromebook, as my carry-around the house machine.. and the one I take with me often now to most of my outside events... Paired right up to my iPhone for internet access, and ready to role.

Powerful, Thin Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a couple of weeks now to use this laptop and it performs extremely well compared to my other Ultrabook with similar specs. I have found the I7 Processor with the 512GB hard drive to be the perfect combination. For the price, this is a very capable machine and yes, extremely light with the magnesium alloy body. The screen is not a 4K HD screen so if you are looking for that, please look elsewhere. I I have found the screen perfectly capable and clear. The only couple items I do not like: no thunderbolt 3-USB C and no ability to charge via USB-C (it comes with it's own proprietary charging block which I find antiquated. Overall I like this laptop and will use it as my travel laptop due to its lightweight and specs.

Fantasic Computer for the Designer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is a powerhouse with the size of a tablet. The machine after you configure it boots up quickly and is able to deal with a lot of programs at once without hassle. The pen included is accurate and has very little latency when drawing. However, when running tablet mode with the screen folded on top of the keyboard be aware of the heat that it will begin to generate over long periods of time. Battery life is tremendous for a little guy like this. Color representation is terrific. Ability to game on low settings with no issue. Wish that the side of the computer had a magnetic holder built in for the Pen as it is annoying to carry it around seperately. All in all a great machine for an artist and computer designer. Also if you want it for college, certainly a perfect solution.

A Decent Laptop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first impression of the LG gram was how feather light it is however; unfortunately, the light weight has a cheap feel in my opinion. I have an HP Spectre,2016 model that looks and feels premium! Also, it has brought me great results. While, I know and understand these are two vastly different computers because of make, model, performance and appearance, yet they both are ultra books. The following are some areas worth noting about the LG Gram: Setup-I love the initial setup that is provided, compliments of Cortana who truly is a great assistant from biographical information, account setup/s, login info, etc.. This artificial intelligence truly leaves no stones unturned and performs at a highly efficient rate! Ports-LG has included some great ports such as HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, Headphone jack, ethernet connector to name a few. There ports serve for multiple purposes that users may have. Performance-The Gram boots up and shuts down at a speedy rate. I found the gram to handle opening of multiple windows efficiently. The gram handles opening of multiple windows at an efficient rate. I haven’t experienced any sluggish performance or lag in the Gram thus far. Storage-I am blown away that the GRAM offers 512 gb of SSD along with 16 gb of memory. I am certain that this computer will meet my needs for future proof purposes. Keyboard-The keyboard which is lighted feels pretty tactile and sturdy. However, in comparison to the Spectre which has keys that feel exceptional to one’s fingers. Pen-I found the Wacom pen that accompanies the Gram to be very intuitive and user-friendly. If you’re are a graphics illustrator or sketcher, you’ll truly appreciate what this pen offers. Screen-the Gram has a 1920X1080 resolution with FULL HD which offers a decent picture. However, at the price point, I would have like to have seen a better resolution offered. Audio-The audio performance on this laptop is decent, but not strong as I thought it would be being that this laptop is of premium design and performance. I have observed upon notification of E-mail messages; sound is sort of faint and this is at maximum volume. Battery Life-LG claims 21 hours of battery life. I discovered after a full charge, I am only able to get 10 hours of battery life which is decent. Overall, I think LG hasn’t done enough to make this a true top contender and this is in comparison to a nearly 3-year-old model that I have. Computers are supposed to deliver faster performance and features. However, I don’t see a single thing or things that make this laptop a WOW factor that I can say tech has made a major stride.

Fan makes awful noise, unable to get resolution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this laptop and charged it up before starting. When I turned it on for the first time, I was greeted by an awful sound coming from one of the fan vents. It is very annoying and happens every time I try to use the laptop. I contacted LG and was contacted by someone via email. It was late on a Friday, and I was told that I would receive a phone call to resolve the issue on the following Monday. I received no phone call. I tried emailing the person back who had contacted me only to receive a "message undeliverable" reply. So I am dead in the water at this point with no resolution and a noisy, unusable laptop.
