This router is excellent for many uses. Obviously it is designed first and foremost to be a gaming router for use on the Killer network with other Killer network enabled devices. But, if you do not have a killer network device, or even a gaming PC, this router will do wonders for you with normal activities (Streaming, downloading, etc.). The key factor of this router is network prioritization. Gaming first, then video, Other Wifi devices, Email, and finally Large Downloads. It does give you the customization option to switch things around, and prioritize your own devices in the order that you wish to have. This is a nice feature. Setup was super easy, as most routers are nowadays. I continue to be impressed by Linksys and their simple user setup interface. Although i consider myself very tech savvy, the ease of use with this router and others from Linksys continues to be very simple and user friendly. Highly recommended.

I couldn't wait to open up my new Linksys gaming router when the UPS guy delivered it. I replaced my mesh system with this device. Setup was easy as I had no problems along the way. I've been testing the speed via various online tools and it's performing extremely well. We started to play some bandwidth-sucking games which would bog down on my old router. The Lynksys didn't miss a beat. If you're looking for something to up your performance for gaming or streaming video, this is a great router!

      Hi, Norcal9900,

The Linksys WRT32x should be able to provide up to 3.2 Gbps speed to a very large household but, wireless interference can cause connection issues. You can try to change the channel on your wireless network to optimize the connection and, make sure to update its firmware.

Let us know the result at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review for our reference. We'll have our Escalation Engineers provide further assistance.

The speed is incredible. However the connection kinda flunky. I'd have to reset the router multiple times in a day in order to get a connection. I assume its just the firmware that needs uodating cause it cause me a lot of issues.

If you are looking for a gaming router, this is the router for you. The WRT32X has quality of service (QoS) system designed to help network traffic such as games, video and VoIP, typically lag sensitive traffic are assigned the highest priority so that your video streams and phone calls are not interrupted. The WRT32X is able to determine game traffic and make it the highest priority. The WRT32X can then tell the router what the data traffic is and how it should be prioritized. The WRT32X can also look at the data packets traveling over your network. It is able to tell that an app update packet shouldn’t be treated as just as important as a gaming packet. The WRT32X is optimized for games because it will never queue a gaming packet of data. I have two ipads and I tested downloading Facebook, Facebook messenger, Microsoft Outlook and the Weather Channel App I also had 11 Windows 10 programs to download on a laptop and desk top as I was using my NVIDIA Shield TV to play. When doing the first download on my old wifi system the NVIDIA would queue and buffer. It was especially brutal at first and as I had Direct TV now working too. When I used the WRT32X the gaming was smooth, the WRT32X really made sure that the NVIDIA had the best data. A nice touch was how the router list the devices that are compatible with the new prioritization feature. Just make sure that you download the Killer Hardware on your PC to take advantage of the gaming Killer technology, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi doesn’t work with this feature. If you play games and have a lot of people using WiFi at the same time buy this WiFi router.

    PERFECT Gaming Router

This router is absolutely perfect for gamers and I wish I had only had one earlier. I had been using a standard lower to mid-range router and this router by Linksys is a huge upgrade. The first thing that stands out though is the aesthetic appeal of the device as it is very sleek and doesn't have the obnoxious bright red or blue lights shining everywhere. The other key aspect of a new router is how easy or difficult it is to setup and though I recently had not set up any newer style routers, the setup was exceptionally quick and was very basic for beginners yet had numerous configurations for those more technically inclined. I`ve been playing Overwatch quite intensively the past 4 days using this router and it has held up perfectly. The greatest aspect of this router is the ability to prioritize various devices and upon setup, I obviously had set that to my computer to maintain the best connection possible while gaming. After setting this feature I had numerous people in my house watching Netflix and Hulu on other devices and my connection still remained consistently great the entire time. Overall after using this router for just an extended weekend of gaming I really can`t say anything negative about it and would definitely recommend it for any gamer specifically that is looking for that consistent connection that will not falter when others are using the same connection.

The technology behind this bad boy is as slick as it looks. It knows to route game stream packets above all others, and it does it with gusto! That's the bottom line you're paying extra for, and it works exactly as it should. Right out of the box, this is geared to gamers. The shape and sleek black casing looks like my Alienware desktop. Also right out of the box is the ease of setup I am accustomed to from Linksys. No technical acumen is required, because the routing priority is preconfigured. Plug and play. I found it such a relief that he signal is so strong I don't need the access points upstairs in the loft. Get it on your network, and start playing!

      Hi Yolo,

Aside from having an outdated firmware, one of the factors that can trigger Wi-Fi speed fluctuation is the connection coming from your ISP's modem. If you have already contacted your ISP to check the speed from their end, then we'll take this chance to have one of our Escalation Engineers conduct further isolation. Please shoot us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this post for easy reference.

Setup is a snap after plugging it in you go to myrouterlogin.com. There I was able to set up the 2.4 and 5GHz networks with just one network name and password. I have been using for 12 hours without issue. One setting I liked is you can easily prioritize your favorite devices with an intuitive interface.

With the KILLER technology built-in, this router can prioritize and ELIMINATE latency with an appropriate KILLER-equipped network card in a gaming PC or laptop. Otherwise, its very similar to the WRT3200ACM released late last year by Linksys. Like its blue sibling, it has FANTASTIC wireless coverage and easy app-based manageability with the Linksys app and is DD-WRT capable, but I'm unaware of any other firmwares that offer the KILLER capabilities in the stock ROM. I had the opportunity to test the router's eSATA port with an older WD Studio for Mac drive, and I was BLOWN AWAY by the drive read/write performance (I also had decent performance from USB 3.0 drives connected to the more traditional USB port on the router). The industrial design on this is identical to its WRT3200 predecessor, but the solid black actually seems MORE at home in an office as well as near the gaming center. All in all if you're looking for a specialized gaming router, this is the one to have now, especially if you have KILLER capabilities on your rig.

    Fast! Easy Setup

This is a fantastically fast router. Let me start by saying this was a simple fast installation. Configuring the WRT32X was as simple as plugging in your cable modem to the internet port and you PC to one of the Gigabit ports and clicking through the installation Wizard. Cofiguring wifi is just as simple one SSID configures both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi and the Router detects your device speed. One feature I like is the ability to select other DNS providers for your home network in case your ISP is having issues. You can Prioritize which devices get the most bandwidth so you don't interupt little Johnny's gaming session. My son appreciated this feature. The Dashboard view has a lot of useful information: - Your upload/download speeds - How many devices are connected - Your Wi-Fi Information - A speed test result showing how fast your internet connection is. Overall this is a great router and I definitely would recommend this Router for novice and experts.

For the last few months my daughter had been complaining about slow unstable internet. So trying a new router was what I needed. First off this is a very nice looking device, even the box was awesome. So I unboxed it and got it set up. Set up is a breeze, les than 5 minutes to be up and running. I don’t know enough about the technical side to know what all the numbers mean, and really as long as it works, I’m happy. So I got the family together and had everyone online, streaming and playing games. What we did first was had 4 devices streaming Netflix, all four of us were surfing on our tablets and the 2 kids on their PlayStations. Smooth all the way around, no hiccups, no skipping on the video streaming, no lag while surfing. If this router can keep up with this kind of use, it can handle just about all your WiFi needs everyday. Like I said, I don’t know about the technical numbers, but this router is up to the task and is a great choice for any one.

Nice Router But Advantage for Gamers is Overstated

The Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band gaming router is an excellent router by any standard. It is designed "exclusively" for gamers utilizing Killer enabled PCs utilizing its Killer Prioritization Engine. However, any wi-fi device will work perfectly fine with this router. The Killer Prioritization Engine simply takes the prioritization and automates it meaning anything operating with the Killer hardware will get top priority over all others. Now, if you're a big gamer that may be a big benefit to you. However, there are a lot of routers that allow you to customize the prioritization of devices so I'm not sure I find this as a huge benefit. The overall packaging is beautifully done. Props to Linksys as all of their products I've received over the last couple of years have been really upscale. The same goes for the build quality and design. Linksys has routers that are more streamlined and modern looking in my opinion, but this one definitely has the gamer vibe with the displays on the front side and all black color. As far as speed, bandwidth, and features, this router is likely all that you will need. Linksys does have higher performing routers (even cheaper!) with almost all of the same features. What you don't get are the 'bells and whistles' for specialized gaming. As I've mentioned, I'm not exactly sure how beneficial the bells and whistles are, but some may find them useful. The WRT32X does have an eSATA which most routers do not have. My final recommendation is that there are other more powerful routers out there with most of the same features. However, this router is certainly a great router to have with all of the advanced features that one would expect from a high-end Linksys router. Pros: -Enhanced dashboard/configuration for gaming -eSATA connection -Killer Prioritization Engine -Front display is flashy which gamers might light Cons: -Many of the same features as other routers, just marketed differently -Price

    Fast router

It’s a fast router way better then my original Linksys WRT1200. Range is about the same. It manages all my devices with ease 3 iPhones 3 iPads 2 computers, 2 smart TVs, a printer and a Xbox one. So a decent amount of stuff connected at once. I’ve seen my printer speed up when trying to print before it would fail a lot. I don’t have any killer devices. One big downside for me is the fact there is no Linksys app for this router. And for its price I feel there should be.

So far so good.... I have only had this router for a week or so but it replaced a " better " but refurbished model Linksys router that I had a few issues with. I have a tenant that is a HEAVY gamer and hardwired but so far this thing has been able to keep up with him using the Killer software as well as letting me stream HD netflix without a single buffer to date! The UI is pretty basic but for what I do, honestly I do not need anything more. On top of that the WRT firmware has come leaps and bounds from the first releases and again only having a limited time to evaluate it... seems very solid. Range has improved over my old router as well, I now get full bars in my master bedroom where before I would get 2-3 at my desk. I also can hit my MAX downstream (400 Mbps from Suddenlink) speed wirelessly on the 5Ghz channel in my master room as well where I could not before. At this moment in time I would recommend this router for gamers or anyone who just wants a simple UI and solid performance out of the box. I will reevaluate after a month or two.

My first impression over the first couple of weeks was fine, it was a great router that could handle a whole heck of a lot of devices. My problems started arising once Linksys updated the router firmware(I have it to auto-update; won’t make that mistake again). When it updated, it started making my 2.4 and 5ghz bands intermittently drop within any 24 hour period while a hardline connection was fine. All iOS devices just said incorrect password. Everything else just flat out refused to connect. One quick workaround was to restart the router when problems do arise. Here’s where the majority of my frustration came in. Because my routers wireless bands aren’t working, my smart home technology is also down. This is my first Shot at a Linksys router and so far it’s not very good. A 300 dollar router should definitely not be having this many problems with it. If they can fix all the problems with it, thats when they will deserve a 5 star and a recommendation but so far this is just a 300 dollar switch.

This Linksys - WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine was a great upgrade for me! The setup was painless, and I was able to get my previous SSID and password configured quickly. None of my devices had issues connecting, and the speed difference over my old router was noticeable. While I am not really a gamer, and don't have a "Killer"-enabled PC, this router made a big improvement in my network speed and reliability. The included USB ports were a nice addition - I was able to connect a WD external hard drive and access it from anywhere in the house. I can highly recommend the router to anyone looking for a fast and stable wi-fi network, and if you happen to have a "Killer"-enabled PC, then get it quick!
