Original Harmony One was Better

My original Harmony One was the best remote ever, used it for 10 years.. The screen got damaged and was too expensive to repair. I needed an IR remote due to my setup. TV is in the family room and all components are in a closet down the hall. I use a separate IR relay transmitter and IR receiver. My receiver, dvd player, and cable box all use an IR jack input which is connected to the IR box. My roku uses the IR led cable.
The harmony 950 is ok. The button layout is not as convenient as the One, both are backlit which is nice. The 950 has 4x the favorite channel screen icons, When pressing screen icons for channels they don't always transmit the 3 digits my cable box uses. Sometimes they skip one.The One had individual number buttons for channels, the 950 has screen buttons. The individual buttons are better. With the 950 you need to keep flipping thru screens to access different buttons. The 950 is just average in my opinion. It was the best alternative replacement I could find. I wished Logitech still made the One, I would have bought it again.

I purchased the Harmony 950 after purchasing a new TV as my old Harmony remote was no longer supported, therefore no more updates for new hardware. Easy to program but a couple of things that keep it from being great.
1) Touchscreen leaves finger prints and isn't very good with Apple TV.
2) Use the channel up/down button on the cable box is much slower than the remote that is provided by Spectrum.
Overall, I pleased with this purchase and I would recommend to anyone who wants an easy programmable remote.

I bought the remote for my entertainment setup. Activities can be set-up to do some pretty unique things imo, rather than simply turn on/off everything. For example: on my LG WEBOS tv, I can have it open the home bottom screen, move all the way over to my youtube app, and start it, all by pressing the youtube activity.
Overall things work smoothly 95% of the time. I already owned a harmony HUB, which I do think makes it more versatile/less frustrating. I also like how you can control devices individually not strictly via activities.
-1 star due to wild price.

I already had a Harmony Hub that I was using for my entertainment system and I was controlling it with an iPad mini. It worked fine but it was a little cumbersome due to its size. I purchased the Harmony 950 and it paired right up to the hub by following the instructions on the My Harmony app. All my activities, devices and favorites copied over to the 950 so I didn't have to re-enter everything. I customized a few buttons on the 950 and it's working great. Some say that the touch screen is too sensitive but I added the programmable delay timer so you have to hold the touch screen buttons for 1/2 second before they respond. Problem solved.

Get rid of all those remotes and trying to figure out what works what. You can control everything with this one remote. Simple to program by going to the Logitech web site and entering the model number of all your devices that you want to control (DVR, Satellite, etc.) then you set up your activities ( Watch TV, Play BluRay, etc.). Then when you choose an activity this remote will turn on the devices that are needed for that activity and you can operate each device independently with just this one remote.
I have owned previous models of this remote and they have all worked perfectly, purchased this one for the added features it has but still using older model in a different room.

I have had my Harmony Universal Remote for about a week and really like it. I have the one that has a screen you can read and see what you are doing. It is a wonderful device that i really enjoy. I find its features quite remarkable. For example, hearing is declining and being able to pull up the subtitles function quickly and easily is fantastic. I actually paid the Geek Squad to help set it up and highly recommend that as well. My rep knew what worked well and what did not. For example, yes, I could increase the volume on my remote speakers with the Harmony Remote but it is much easier to use the volume control on the speaker box. the best advice he gave was it would take a week or so of playing with it tto get used to all the features. Overall, I would say the remote is excellent - don't waste your money on one that does not have the built-screen - you will not full realize the advantages of the universal remote. I would also add that the device is logical but not intuitive.

This is a great solution to using multiple remotes, easy setup and the shortcut icons on the touchscreen is a nice bonus. Would've gave 5 stars but started having problems after two years. Now the screen will not sleep and the battery is draining in just a few hours. Will try contacting service later.

This works well but can be finicky at times. At least once a week it gets out of synch but you can fix easily by using the help menu. If it would stay in synch I would give it 5 stars. Running TV. Cable. Reliever. Blu-ray off air antenna and Xbox using this remote. Handles 2zone avrs as well. Little tricky getting 2nd zone to work but after research and time I was successful

We bought this Harmony 950 to replace an old Harmony 880 that was getting difficult to charge. To start you still need to plug the remote into your computer and set it up with your devices and activities using the software from myharmony.com. Fortunately for me, I was able to transfer all of my settings from old remote to new once I had signed into my Logitech account. The new remote is still getting used to turning all the right stuff on, but is getting better, and it seems faster at taking actions than the old remote. The Harmony remotes still do not control Bluetooth devices such as the Amazon Fire TV.

Where do I start? Well, it’s a remote, which for some reason has a touchscreen. Okay, fine. Problem is that at least once a week, selecting an activity to power on the appropriate devices just doesn’t do anything. I set the haptic response so I know it’s reading the press...it just doesn’t work. So I’ll have to just set the remote down for a moment, let the screen go to sleep, and try again. Then it’ll work.
There’s also a very minimal, yet very annoying delay between button press and on-screen action. You get used to it though. Also, like anything with rechargeable batteries, you’re caught by surprise when you want to watch TV and the battery is low. I’m not one to put things on charge when I’m not using them, so I find it best to just make sure to charge it every other day or so, regardless of battery level.
I give this remote a lot of credit though, it controls a lot of devices at once, and although there are glitches it does a pretty good job. I miss my Harmony 700 though, the 950 is high tech and fancy looking but seems to be a tiny step back in terms of functionality.

Excellent universal remote, relatively easy to set up. Feels really nice in the hand. Most used buttons are easily reachable with an average sized hand.
Biggest downside is that to initiate an activity, you need to point the remote at the devices involved for several seconds; it isn't point, press and immediately put it down.
Other than that, which is probably the same with all remotes that send multiple commands for an activity, it's a great remote.

I’ve had an older model 650 that started action up. Since I’ve added a Harmony Hub and Alexa to my setup the 950 seemed like the right choice for an upgrade. I like the mixture of a screen and button layout. So you get the benefit of the app and the functionality of a standard remote. Easy setup and works great. Comes with a charging base so no batteries to change. Highly recommend! I tried the Seven Hugs Remote that is similar but ended up returning it. No buttons and had to swipe through screens. Like the Harmony much better!

This remote is very user friendly. Holds a charge well, and the charger holds the remote very well.
Very expensive for the features it has, which can be found in other cheaper harmony remotes.
If you want premium look and feel with color, this is a good choice.
If budget is a concern, checkout the cheaper modes which do the exact same thing but cost half to a third of this mode

This was the fourth Logitech Harmony controller that I have purchased. I have them all currently in use. No need to mess around with all miscellaneous remotes. Great to program activities such as "Watch TV but stream music" or just "Listen to CD". Any combination of electronics. Easy to program and edit if necessary. First time may take a bit of time with some trial and error. All Logitech programs are available via app on PC with syncing capabilities. Would definitely recommend.

I have the Harmony "Elite" hub remote and the touch-screen on the remote became unresponsive. After trying several recovery options with the tech support I was told I needed a new remote so I purchased one. My only problem is that it's kind of expensive.

Buttons stopped responding on my old remote and needed a replacement. Device info transferred seamlessly without issue. Now that I've used it, I don't like the button size/layout as much. Play and pause are too small. The guide and info button are now at the bottom of the remote, which I use a lot with Tivo. Still trying to get used to using this remote without looking at it, which is proving difficult since I still have another Harmony One remote that I use in another rooom

Solid product, have had 700 series for years and still in use. Would have preferred if this accepted standard batteries, I don't like planned obsolescence built into the products I use. This rechargeable battery will fail! Do like the programability of this device, makes it easy to use all of the modern entertainment activities and devices easier to use with one remote.
