If you already have the matching Maytag Washer - then the control panel will be easy to figure out. Some have complained about having to "touch" the start button for 3 seconds.. I'm here to assure you that it's 3 seconds of your life well spent. In those 3 seconds you have a chance to pause the start up process by the mere act of lifting your finger up - and like magic - the 3 second countdown stops. I know the loss of those 3 seconds can be agony for some, but I find it reassuring to know that the dryer will not turn on unless I've given it a solid 3 seconds of solid contemplation. The greatest thing about this dryer is that it actually works.. I'm hoping that significant feature continues for years to come (oddly rare now for most appliances) - so I will pray this thing holds up like my last dryer. I don't need (or want) fancy music or a control panel that looks like the cockpit of a Boeing 747. I just need simplicity and a user friendly interface where average human logic leads you to choose the right options even without reading the manual. Right now - I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the timer option - it's allowing me to easily control taking out clothes that need to be a bit damp. When I've used the other features - the items in the dryer were fully dry when the cycle was up. My first "maiden" load was 2 queen size blankets - and they were fully dry via the "bulky items" option without being on fire. The only thing I haven't figured out is what the difference is between the "Regular" and "Normal" options. Although I'm 100% sure they'll both do what they're supposed to do, it seems redundant. I didn't think I'd like a door that opens flat.. my last dryer opened to the left to right ... but I'm learning to love this, as I now have a surface to do some quick folding. Some have complained about the drum size - but I believe it's DEEPER than the standard dryer drum! Front to back, you likely have much more real estate than your last dryer. I'm finding the space in the drum to be very roomy. The dryer is relatively quiet, and the finish "signal" isn't annoying. I like that the drum light comes on when the cycle first begins, then turns off automatically - and although I haven't tried it yet - there's a drum light button on the panel that I assume you can turn the light off and on with as needed. Looking forward to trying the custom cycle to see what that's about - but so far, just using the basic options, it's done exactly what I needed it to do: Dries my clothes without baking them, and no surprise extended cycles because the items are still damp. My only disappointment is in the quality of the metal on the top of the dryer. It is a bit flimsy. If you press on it, it pushes in. I've never had a dryer that had such thin gauge metal on the top surface, especially when that surface is used for heavy things like stacked laundry, bottles of detergent, etc. Maytag needs to back pedal on that cost cutting measure because it cheapens the "quality factor" of a really great dryer. That said - this is not a deal breaker - I can live with it. But I hope it won't dent easily. Installation was fairly cut and dry. Be Warned: It does NOT come with a power cord! We thought that was just plain weird - but Home Depot came through with a quality cord at a decent price. All in all - I recommend this dryer - you won't be disappointed with this purchase.

This dryer is awesome! It’s really big for our needs and does a great job. I love all the different functions it has. I’m looking forward to hopefully many years of service. Our other dryer is also a Maytag and it’s still going. The only trouble we had with that one is one of the tumblers in it broke but even that can easily be fixed.The only reason we replaced it is because we got a new Maytag washer and we wanted the new dryer to go with it. We also love our new washing machine as well and are looking forward to many years of service as well.

I love my brand new Maytag smart dryer. This dryer is easy to use. The size is bigger so I can put more clothes in the dryer. I Love the gray color.

Large capacity. Senses load capacity and when fabrics are dry so you don’t have to worry about over drying or wrinkled fabrics. Best Buy delivery was on time and awesome.

Great dryer. Matches my new washer (see my review). Lots of settings for different types of clothes. Takes a lot less time to dry clothes than my old Kenmore which was about 20 years old. Very quiet. Fits in my laundry closet perfectly. This was a best pick from Consumer Reports.

Great Dryer simple and easy to use, works great looks great!

The dryer works fine and has many options for me to get my clothes dry. The wrinkle prevention cycle can run for hours so I have to attend to it as soon as the cycle is complete. I love the app notifications of "your clothes are dry." What I am really dissatisfied about is that the front panel (the white metal part) of the 6230 model dryer does not match the size of the front panel on the 6230 model washer. The corners on the front of the dryer are not the same rounded edges as those on the washer. The front panel is about 3/4" shorter than the front panel of the washer. The legs show which makes the panel deficiencies even more noticeable, as well as cheap. This is not pleasing to the eye and is a big distraction to look at. It looks like a hillbilly selection from an overstock scrap pile was used for the design. Whoever drew up the designs for the washer and dryer does not know art or his trade. He made a real ugly decision. Because of the pandemic difficulties to order appliances in stores, I ordered the dryer online and was not able to find a picture of the washer and dryer together. Otherwise, I would have caught this. This is a huge strike against Maytag, whom I have supported for over 30 years. My neighbor’s LG does not have this same flaw.

Everything about this Maytag Dryer is nice and a pleasure. The USA Quality Build of this Machine is Top Notch. When you put wet clothes in, Dryer adjust to time dry which you can see how long drying time is. You can also download dryer to your Phone. (I haven't done that yet) Maytag offer free 10 Warranty on Motor & Drum (see pics)

Works great so far. We’ve had it for a month. Make sure to check that you don’t get a used one. The app is good.

Took two to get one that didn't sound like a jet taking off but it is a great dryer other then that

There was a dent in the side of our dryer. We had just unboxed it, and as we were moving it in, we saw the dent. We are pretty disappointed because we bought these machines brand new. Our washer came without a leg/stand also. Im just not sure what can conenoutnof this, or how Best Buy could even make it right.

Very good fryer, try to read the instructions before you use it. Get familiar with all the features and you will enjoy this Maytag dryer.

I Love my MayTag 7.4 cubic feet Electric dryer with opened door Hamper!

We have had this dryer for about a year or two. The dryer works very well and dries the clothes fast. There is one issue that caused us stress we even had a person come out and look at it. But I after doing that the pics is easy if your dryer is not turning on it’s because the door is not shutting properly. All you have to do is take a rubber mallet and hit the base of the opening while it’s open. you have to do this because the metal frame gets bent if you lean on the door while it’s open. this bends the metal of the unit and makes it so the door won’t shut so just hitting the base of the metal frame while the doors is open relieves this issue.

We have a large family and prior to using the Maytag dryer, we always had issues with our dryers burning out so quickly. Maytag is now our go to appliance manufacturer. The dryer is so spacious and drys clothes so fast. Definitely recommend.

I read all the reviews before I bought this. All reviews are right on. If you can afford this dryer, it’s worth every penny. The dryer is quiet, dries clothes in appropriate time, has enough drying choices and easy to use. Going into store to purchase and setup my delivery was easy. One thing to know is Best Buy requires customers to purchase Best Buy new appliance cord and venting. Those purchases are more expensive than the box stores. The delivery guys were A+, even asking me if I have any questions.

Thank you Best Buys for swapping the Samsung dryer which broke down after less than 6 months for an American Made Maytag dryer. It works well, actually dries better than the Samsung. Works just fine. it is a little pricey, but aren't they all. All I require is a machine that works, and this one does.

Just what we wanted. Easy to operate, quiet, efficient. The price was/is right.
