This version has much faster synchronizing so wireless mirroring is more comparable to a cable than before. Super smooth. I wish it came with a hard case because I carry it in my bag and I'm worried I might bend the male bit from the plug encasement. Hasn't happened yet. <full disclosure: I work for the manufacturer (different division) but paid full price at Best Buy. Opinions are my own and based off of my own experiences>

Using this with a MS Surface.

However I am using this at work and we had to jump through hoops to get the group policies set correctly in Windows. I wouldn't use it for movies or anything a chrome cast or like device would be better. But for monitor sharing it works good.

I use mine at home with TVs and Monitors over an Orbi Mesh network system. They seem to play nicer with screens that are native 1080p, not so much with native 4k screens...but it will scale down.
