    I had my little brother initially set this up and play with it, States a little lag. Now that I try it after updating the firmware as recommended, audio does not carry with it, even after restarting adapter and laptop. on top of that now it disconnects randomly.

      Thanks for letting us know about this. If video plays on the connected display, but audio comes from your device or not at all, try the following:

      Select the search box in the taskbar, type sound, and in the search results, select Sound.
      Select Playback > Speakers/Intel WiDi > Set Default > OK
