Simple easy to use. I connect it to my TV and I now have a 2nd screen. Very simple to use. I tried to save a couple of bucks by buying a cheaper version, wasn't the best idea.

Good for Presentations. Bad for Streaming.

If you want to connect something like your Microsoft Surface Pro to the Television, or any monitor with a HDMI and USB port available, then this will do exactly that. Unfortunately, even after downloading the Display Adapter app from the Microsoft Store and updating the software, it still lags. It is not as fast as Apple TV’s screen mirroring technology. Good for PowerPoint presentations, but bad for streaming video or high intensity workflows. If you want great connection a “wired” connection is still the best way.

I always carry this with me when I travel. I plug this to the back of the hotel TV and use my phone to watch movie I like. The setup is so easy and never experience any problems for the past 6 or so stays. It always worked. I take pictures and videos on my phone during the day and play them on the big TV at the end of the day. It just works. Yes, there is delay between input and what is displayed if you are playing games, but audio and video sync perfectly if you are just watching videos.

    Elegant Adapter

I bought a Microsoft Surface Book 2 (SB2) to do workshop presentations. The USB-C port is fine, but I needed to connect to VGA- and HDMI-projectors and the SB2 does not have those connections. I have an multi-functional AV adapter that has the ports I need, but, I cannot then detach the screen from the base and roam the classroom. This adapter lets me establish a Miracast connection with the projector. Perfect. I establish the connection, and then walk with the screen as I present. Note that this adapter requires a USB connection to power the HDMI. If the projector does not have a USB port but has an HDMI, you can use a USB charger brick, like an Anker, to power the USB connection to run the HDMI.

Connects wirelessly to my Surface Pro4 so I can watch movies, work, or check email using the big screen. Can't see any wires sticking out. Love this and would buy again. A great gift for the person who has everything

I have to say I was so disappointed with this product. I had no idea this thing existed until recently and I was so excited when I found out about it! I wanted a wireless way to play video games on my tv from my computer without a hdmi cable. It's easy to set up (just plug it in to your tv) and then connect to it on your computer. It did work when I started using it! But then I started playing a video game on it and it was terrible. The sound was choppy, the images were lagging, and it kept disconnecting and I'd had to exit out of the game and connect to the adapter over and over again. The game was playing just fine on my pc by the way, no lag on the computer, only on the tv screen. So frustrating. I thought it was the game and after trying several other games and then YouTube videos and then just playing a song on iTunes I realized it was really just the adapter. I even tried my old laptop and my boyfriend's laptop and it wasn't any better. I really wanted this device to work but it just wasn't any good for doing much. My guess is maybe if you're doing a PowerPoint presentation or something it would be ok. But it's really not good for playing games or watching videos. Also, I have optimum 100 so maybe if you have a better internet connection than that it would work better? But Im definitely sticking to an hdmi cable.

My main intentions for buying this was to mirror my screen from my Galaxy S7 Edge without an Internet connection for the receiving device. That being said, this device does support anything that uses MiraCast so Android phones and tablets. IOS is not supported and most likely will never be supported because they want to keep their products under control. I did try the product with a SP3 and SP4 to see how well it operated. ***THIS IS NOT FOR GAMING*** Or anything that requires low latency in general. MiraCast worked perfectly as I needed. I can mirror my phone and still have the ability to use mobile data. This works well for anyone that has an unlimited data plan. Movies stream very well with small quality degradation. It does have a small hiccup when trying to connect to the device immediately after startup. Not a deal breaker. *For those that are unsure about screen mirroring, your handheld device's screen will be displayed on whatever the wireless adapter is connected to. You cannot show one screen on the TV and do something else on your handheld device. If that is something you want, you need a casting device like Chromecast, Fire TV/stick, etc. This will require an internet connection to operate the casting device. This is a most for any college student that has a windows device. Presentations are much easier when you want to use your personal device. I used a SP3(i5 258GB) and a SP4(i5 128GB). Extending the screen with result in terrible lag. Presenting with works as expected. Using only the second display (wireless adapter) shows more usability due to less lag. This is the perfect device if you need to mirror screens without interest connections.

This display adapter is pretty neat. I love how small it is and was pretty easy to set up with a little computer knowledge. Did have a few issues that took about 20 min to resolve but I think that was mostly with the Bluetooth drivers on my Surface. I used this to try to stream movies to the tv. Worked okay but still was a little jittery. I later used it for a PowerPoint presentation and it worked perfectly. Overall I wouldn't use it as my main streaming display device however I'm still very happy with it.

I have two of these wireless display adapters in use. One on my TV at home and the other attached to a projector at work. I use the projector to teach classes using power point. The computer I use is a Surface 3 Pro. Works fine as long as you stay within range - 20ft or less.

The easiest way I've found to get my table to connect... Works perfectly, but make sure you have the display setting correct, such as "duplicate" display... If it's set to something else, your tablet or phone will go blank... Change this setting before you connect.

I found out about the adapter only because of the specs of the Microsoft Surface Book which described the capability. Unfortunately this adapter will work only on computers that are Miracast capable. Hookup was easy but I had a bit of a problem activating the adapter. The instructions were not very good. Maybe it was just me but I got lucky and figured it out and it worked great! Love it.
