Absolutely exceeded my expectations. For the price, you get a super smooth everyday experience, a bright and clean display, and outstanding battery life that easily lasts all day. The software is refreshingly simple with no bloat, and the phone feels solid and comfortable to use. The camera isn't flagship-level, but it's perfectly good for everyday photos, and the microSD slot is a huge bonus if you need extra space. If you want a reliable, affordable phone that delivers way more than you'd expect at this price, this one's a winner. Highly recommend!

I'm 77 yo so it took me a while to learn how to do what I want on this phone. Once someone showed me how to assess the options I was fine. For younger folks it probably won't take a second to learn. It has a speaker that works great and loud as well as an alarm. I wish the alarm was a little louder because when I'm using it to wake up it's sometimes too soft but I love the alarm so I don't miss my appointments. Screen is large enough and clear while photos surprised me at how clear they are - even codes (for returns etc,) show up really great. Sound is great and it holds it's charge for quite a while.

This is the perfect phone for my purposes. The audio, display quality and speed are perfect for my 12 years old daughter. This is the 4th or 5th Motorola phone, I have bought and I have always been happy with the value proposition. Even through my former carrier the Motorola phones have always had much less bloatware than, say Samsung (ugh) which loads up their phones with all kinds of nonsense. When you buy it unlocked it comes with even less bloatware, and you can delete or disable most of it. It is much faster than my old phone, which one would expect, with 8MB of RAM, and 128MB of internal storage. There are several things I like about this phone, a couple being that it still has a headphone jack, and also it will take a micro SD card for additional storage. Both of these features are found on very few phones these days. There are 2 features that are unique to Motorola on the phones I have had, including this one, that are REALLY convenient. You can open the camera app just by twisting your wrist, and you can turn on the flashlight by a chopping motion - no screen to wake up or app to start up - brilliant really. Also, the battery life (5000ma) is phenomenal. I can use it all day, leave it overnight, and it will still have plenty of charge the next day. If you want a well functioning device and don't want to spend huge dollars this phone may be right for you.

The Moto G Play is a really good budget phone. Battery life is excellent and easily lasts me more than a day. The screen is clear and works well for videos and browsing. Performance is fine for everyday use like texting, social media, and light apps. The only downside is the camera — it’s decent in good light but not great in low light. Also, it’s not super fast if you open too many apps at once. Overall, for the price, it’s reliable, simple, and gets the job done. Great value phone!

The camera quality surprised me, especially in good lighting, and the screen looks sharp and bright. Setup was quick and everything works as expected. Definitely a solid choice for the price. The Motorola Moto G Play 2024 is a fantastic choice for anyone on a tight budget who needs a reliable, no-frills smartphone. It excels in the most important areas for this price range: excellent battery life, solid performance for everyday tasks, a decent camera, and a clean software experience. While it lacks 5G connectivity and a higher-resolution screen, these are understandable trade-offs for a device that offers so much value for its cost.

I got this phone to fill the basic need of contacting family and work-related individuals. Not a particularly impressive storage capacity, and the small 4GB of RAM makes it unsuitable for high-end videogames - sorry, mobile gamers. To add, I would recommend getting a phone case for this, as the base case is smooth plastic and the edges are round, meaning there's potential for it slipping out of your hand if you're not paying attention. The first thing I did after buying this phone was getting it a good, ergonomic phone case and a nice plastic screen protector, and I must say: it feels good in the hand, now. Another con is the frequent security updates that'll shove themselves in your face every few days or so. The phone missed two years worth of updates, so make sure to keep updating it until you're on the latest version. The better side is that it really doesn't lag, this phone. Of course, for me only using it for YouTube and two low-end videogames, websites run smoothly with only a few small hiccups here and there - and even then it's when you're moving through things quickly. Another thing to highlight is the battery life. For a budget phone, it's not bad! Lasts a good 8 - 10+ hours before needing to recharge: but again, that is only because I don't have much on the phone pressuring the storage or RAM. Lastly is the charger. Oh, the charger. It's pretty bad. Only 3ft long, and it came with NO CHARGING BLOCK in the box. When I plugged it into the wall - with a spare brick - it was extremely slow and took, like, 1hr to charge 20% of the battery. Not optimal. I ended up buying a 6ft, 45W USBC charger - with its own brick - from the same store, and I must say it is levels above what I initially got. It will still take a bit of time to charge - give it, like, an hour and a half - but compared to what I was given before, I'll take this one over the other, any day. Overall, a good budget phone that will take a bit of setting up, but is otherwise a great choice for anyone looking for something affordable.

I purchased the Motorola Moto G Play (2024) in December 2025 and have been using it consistently since then. It’s been a solid and dependable budget phone for everyday use. Performance is smooth for basic tasks like calls, texting, browsing, and streaming, and the large display is comfortable to use. Battery life has been a standout feature—it easily lasts a full day without any issues. The camera performs well for casual photos in good lighting, and being unlocked made setup with my carrier very easy. Overall, it’s a great value phone that does exactly what it’s meant to do without unnecessary extras.

For the first 5 minutes after I unboxed it, I was not able to believe that you can get such a high quality phone just for 110 bucks. Display is amazing you can easily be $300 phones and speed, responsiveness is also great, and it is not a gas guzzler as far as battery concerned. I'm telling you, this phone is as good as a $300 phone.

I only use a cellphone to make and receive phone calls and text messages; now and then I'll take a snapshot -- that's it. As my old dying Obamaphone was Android 9, this phone is fantastic in every respect: screen size and resolution, speed, sound quality, camera, etc. Have always had good experiences shopping at Best Buy. The bad news is after six weeks of very light use, I noticed the screen is cracked diagonally upper right corner to lower left. Once, when sitting in a beach chair it slipped out of my pocket and fell maybe 12" to concrete. I guess that was enough to break it? The crack is barely noticeable and the phone still works fine, it's just a bit disappointing that it's so fragile.
