Plus a great price. Looked at a number of places and really thought this was the best in terms of capability for the price point.

Rarely can you find a gaming laptop as light as this laptop is. I'm not a huge gamer but occasionally when I do play them, it has no problems. Considering the amount I paid for this laptop, I'm super happy.

Not used for gaming, but for everyday use surfing the net, Excel, PP, . Multiple windows are open and very little slow down

Build quality is decent, thermals are decent and noise is ok. The performance makes up for any short commings. The specs speak for themselves, one of MSI's better machines and the size and weight make it a perfect machine for light gaming. You can get this model anywhere but the one at bestbuy has the better video card (4gb vs 2gb everywhere else). Cons: - the fans are loud - Typical MSI issues of software not working 100% as intended - Feet on the bottom for better thermals are odd

The volume is too low. There is not enough port. It is only for school use.

Have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised with the Prestige 42. It has essentially the same processing capability as the larger 15" version and much more capable than my current MacBook. And the weight is unbelievable. Hard to imagine that much can be packed into less than 3 lbs. Highly recommended!!!

At the end of last August, I finally made the switch from my old Macbook Air to an MSI PS42 Modern laptop, which I was incredibly excited about; the specs and power seemed like such an upgrade from my old computer which I had owned for over 5 years, and it’s true. The laptop does not under deliver on any of these fronts. Sure, you make compromises for power in places such as audio quality. Unfortunately, within a month of so of my new purchase, I began noticing problems arise with my computer, notably with the wifi card and battery. The wifi card would randomly disconnect from the computer and reappear weeks later. Additionally, the computer would turn off and would not turn back on for weeks at a time. I called MSI customer support at this time and received helpful troubleshooting, which fixed the problem momentarily, though they eventually arose again, and I had to send in the computer for an RMA. This was incredibly difficult for me as I desperately needed this computer for my work, which was especially picking up at that time. However, I did end up sending it in, after having to pay $40 for shipping for a problem I had no relation to. Ultimately, I was just thankful that I would my computer back in time for school to start again. I received my computer some time later, and it worked fine in the beginning. However, not even a week after I received it, the same problems began to appear again, rendering the computer unusable. After calling customer support again and running through more troubleshooting, I was told that all that could happen was for me to send it in again. On top of this, they didn’t even bother to update the drivers or windows during the RMA, which I then had to fix during the troubleshooting. Would not recommend this to anyone who needs a reliable computer for work, because in the case that something goes wrong, don’t expect to be compensated for or have it fixed any time soon. Before buying from MSI, go look at their customer support reviews online for yourself.

We bought this laptop at last minute for our college freshman. Best Buy worker was very helpful in helping us find a laptop that meets his requirements. So far, no issues. Laptop works great!

Had to get a new work laptop, for the money definitely the best bag for the buck. All around great product.

Purchased for my daughter for grad school but had to return it. The fan was so loud it would not be allowed in class.

Have had this laptop about a year and three months - and it has developed a crack in the screen - so do not purchase this laptop - just months after warranty expired - it breaks - do not buy

Throughout my experience using PCs (10 plus years) I've purchased mostly HPs. This time around I opted for a gaming unit. I searched for something within a reasonable price range and a sleek look that would allow me to sit in a client meeting without revealing my passion for games and at the same time maintaining a professional demeanor. This laptop achieves both. Though I was weary of investing in a brand for the first time, I am extremely pleased with the speed, graphics, and appearance. I have yet to meet a PC that can keep up with my obsessive multi-tasking. I plan on putting this one to the test; it seems up to the challenge.

This laptop is perfect. I needed a light laptop but with some gaming possibilities. I wanted a laptop that is easy to carry around, stylish and high power with some gaming options. With the added GTX 1050 and the sleek design I get all that. I'm very happy with it. Thank you MSI!

Excellent laptop. This laptop has tremendous power in a very small package. The GTX 1050 is more than sufficient to run most all of today's modern games. MSI is superior in their cooling design, and this laptop is the embodiment of that legacy as I have experienced no extreme heat-ups or any throttling at high temperatures. Great job, MSI.

I'd previously committed mostly to HP products and made do with the graphics available, but now that I'm making a move to university I took the chance to make a change. The laptop is surprisingly light and so far impressively powerful. All in all it's just a very worthwhile purchase for it's reasonable price.

I have only had this computer for one day now, but so far, I am very pleased with the speed and light weight of the computer.

I cant say enough about how wonderful this laptop is. Purchased for coursework and study, but also nice to game on in spare time with gtx 1050. The weight is unbelievable, so light. Cools really well too, excellent heat dissipation.
