I purchased this router to go with a NETGEAR - 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. I caught this on sale as well as the modem do not regret it what so ever. This combination flows smooth like Tennessee whiskey. I set it up on black friday with ease and have not had one issue out of it. No drops in connection since the initial set up. The biggest selling point of this router is a feature that bypasses the slowest device on your network. Usually older routers will limit all outgoing wifi speeds to you slowest device. With this router, if your device can intake a high rate of data, its gonna give it to it while giving you slower device the best speed it can take. If you are still reading this review, then know that i am very happy with this product.

Best router so far. Purchased specifically for my ps4 and direct Ethernet connection. Works perfectly for online gaming. No lag and even on WiFi it's amazing. It even has gigabit support. The app gives decent control over the devices that are currently on it. Works great even when power goes out on a battery backup. Fastest speeds of any router I've had. On WiFi on my 300mbps connection, I'm getting 265mbps. Direct plug in i get over 323mbps. I have over 15 devices that include smart speakers and tablets along with smart tv and lighting and alarm and it all works flawless. All the issues people seem to have i have no idea why they are having those issues.

Very pleased with this router. Purchased to replace older unit and makes a huge difference. Fast and good range. Features seem to work very well and set up was a breeze. Great unit for the price!

I was having trouble with my Spectrum Router and I bought this router and I have not had one second of down time since. Very good. Love the App that goes with it!, also!...Very easy install!!!

I replaced and older WiFi Netgear router with this one as the old one was only getting around 50Mbps download speed with my Comcast cablemodem service. With this new Nighthawk, I'm now getting over 150Mbps and have a stronger signal in other rooms around the house. The unit is on the larger side so the aesthetics may not be as great depending on where you place it in the room. I try to place the unit in the center of my home so the signal can reach every part of the house, so you can clearly see the modem and the lights on the front panel are pretty bright so it draws attention. Great upgrade from my old Netgear and that one lasted over 4 years. Hope this one lasts just as long or longer.

Picked this up on Black Friday special to replace ASUS RTAC87R purchased in 2015. This new nighthawk 2400 had great reviews. Wasn't super impressed with the set-up. It took over an hour because comcast kept kicking it out and the passwords would not stick. Setup requires some patience. We are in the 55 to 60age group and I heard several cuss words during the setup process. Finally it went thru and the download speeds were noticeably improved. Did a speed test before and after - HUGE I liked that this was half the price of the previous router and we were going to spend more but because technology changes so quickly was glad this saved money. We do have 3 ethernet drops in our home due to 4400SF size and the radient barrier roof which makes it impossible to get a good 4G signal. So this router is an added bonus for all the wifi compatible items - TVs, notepads, bose system, nest thermostats, guest phones etc...

Bought this as a replacement of the FiOS quantum gateway. Setup is easy as login to the FiOS router, release the DHCP lease in advanced settings, quickly unplug it to prevent auto renew and install the AC2400. After first connecting to the router, login to the router, follow the setup prompts and voila! Internet! Speed test result is as expected. Websites seems to load faster than when I was using the quantum gateway - maybe just excitment from my new toy. Will update later. The nighthawk app is decent but nothing really useful, at least for me. There is an USB 3.0 port if you need to connect a external hard drive. Netgear offers a program to do auto backups to that drive too if that's your thing. Connecting to my shared folders and Plex works just fine. I also tested casting from my S9+ to my Samsung TV and videos runs well but sound can be choppy. But at least it doesnt drop connections compared to the quantum gateway (and a tp link router that I previous tested too). A slight nikpick is the size - not sure if they really have to make it so wide.. Overall, an excellent router. Highly recommended.

By far one of the best Wifi routers out there. Uninterrupted coverage. Keeps up with today’s internet speeds. The nighthawk app is very user friendly, and gives the user total control of their internet. Guest wifi accounts are easily shared, and controlled by the user (administrator). No need fo share the password. The app does it for you via a bar scan. Five out of five stars. One ethernet jack plus the wireless for different connection options. Point the antennae in different direction for direct, uninterrupted wifi coverage. Im very pleased with this router.

I bought this on sale for about $90. That is about how much you should expect from this router. It did extend my range from my previous Belkin router. The overall download speed seems to be evenly distributed between connected devices. My biggest complaint is the app they have you download to install the unit. It works inconsistently and several aspects of the app don't work. I hope that future updates fix my issues. It is also quite large and takes up a fair amount of room on my entertainment center. Otherwise, it's a good router and seems to work. Time will tell how reliable it is though.

I have been doing computer repair and have set up wired and wireless networks for almost 35 years. The router itself works great, but set-up is difficult unless you want to use your smartphone. If you wish to do that, you need to have a fast download connection (3g/4g) I was able to set it up, but kept having to do the same parts over and over to get an internet connection. A small piece of paper was the instruction manual, with setup logins to connect the router. Took several hours, but once I got it to connect to the internet i haven't had any problems. I have three FireSticks, two Rokus, several laptops, two tablets, and a cell phone all connected at once with no draw downs.

This has great coverage anywhere in and beyond our 1/4 + ac yard, anywhere in the house, a 2 story 2400 sqft. Router located on outside wall in far outside corner of an upstairs office. We stream through it, frequently have 3-4 devices; Smart TVs, phones, tablets. Never have dropout when streaming via phones while working in yard, no dead spots anywhere. Phone app for connecting with router and making administrative adjustments, updates, etc. Overall , as a non-techie, I'm pleased.

Great coverage on all 3 floors. Fast internet speeds. The only thing is that it does not support Parental Controls. According to what I read, pretty much all netgear routers have the controls except this one. I may return it for this reason. 2 support calls to netgear, upgrading firmware and resetting to defaults then told ac2400 does not have this feature. Even support was surprised.

This router was very easy to set up and the iPhone app works great. This modem gave me the speed I was looking for out of my cable internet

So far this has been a great upgrade from my At&t modem router. We have had increased number of wifi devices including our tv and before we used to get more buffering, though this maybe due to At&t, now the intelligence of the router keeps the tv, phones and cameras running without problems. It was easy to set up and manage with the phone app. I would recommend to anyone with a home up to 2100 sq ft. and 2 stories. We also have this at work and it's been great there as well.

Bought this router and used it for about 8 months before upgrading to next model as I always do. Netgear has not let me down in the last 7 years. This router has good range for a 1800sqft home. Processor inside is great for gaming, I never experience lag and was able to get my internet speed. I ended up giving this to my sister for her new home about 1400sqft and she has not complained.

Awesome router with super speed and strong antenna. Coming from an arris sbg AC 6900 modem/router which had weak signal and poor WiFi speeds. I bought the Netgear as a separate router and just converted the arris into just a cable modem and now I am finally getting the speeds that I am paying for thru spectrum which is 300/20 + The signal is amazing in all parts of my home new netgear router and I have 3700 + sq ft

Excellent speeds, easy to set up. Just download the app to your phone and you literally control everything. 21 network is easy to find, having a little bit of trouble connecting to 5g. The only gripe I have with this is that it doesn't have an easy to connect button, but other than that, great router. Will be upgrading and buying from here in a few years.
